If you are looking to watch sport and get a table with friends you can’t go wrong. Loads of screens and space. Open area into the merchant square itself is quite classy. Drinks and food aren’t anything remarkable but it’s quietly efficient and has a good atmosphere

Situated in the merchant city area of Glasgow. Place was very busy, three deep at the bar at one point. Pleasant enough, drink at reasonable prices. Rounded off the night for us. Other pubs in the immediate area which also looked busy. Worth a visit

Me and my partner have just left o'neills very disappointed. Whilst at the bar my partner over heard a conversation with a woman and a bar staff member. She informed the member of bar staff that she had children and asked if they were OK to come into the pub. The reply from the barman was that yes they had permission- however, only if all adults purchased an adult meal from the menu. The lady walked out with her children and you lost custom. Apparently- according to your barstaff, this is company policy. If this is correct, that policy is ridiculous. It is also, correct me if I'm wrong- against the law. You don't ask every customer coming into the pub to buy a meal with their pint of Guiness do you? So why on earth should a mother have to buy an adult meal just to allow her children inside? To set the scene- this was 1 o'clock in the afternoon and the pub was quiet. I'd also like to point out that we are in a cost of living crisis, and to force anybody into buying something they don't need to is out of order. I look forward to hearing your feedback

Regular visitor. Busy pub in merchant City. Door staff are decent. Wait at bar can be a long one, testament to the demand. Toilet attendant on site. Large screens so ideal for sporting events. Plenty of space to move around.

The waiting staff were fine but the pub was quiet and there were a lot of things unavailable from the menu. I asked for katsu curry, then tried fish and chips and finally settled for scampi. They then said fish and chips was available but just not on the deal which 3 of our group had just ordered. Our meals arrived first and there was quite a delay before the other meals arrived and we got condiments. There was little difference in the meals except those who paid less got more chips. The food was good but it didn't feel good to be paying so much more for the same meal as our friends.

Was in with friends not long ago and was served by a boy named Daniel. He was amazing and helped us both with our food and drinks orders. Made the experience that one bit better. Thanks again

came in for a few drinks and couldn't find a table that had been cleared, asked the barman for a cloth to clean a table and was handed a cloth and disinfectant to clean the table myself, since been sitting for an hour quite a few tables have not been cleared since we came in, people r actually having to clear the tables themselves before they can sit, disappointing as it's a good wee pub and it's the only let down

Came in with my grandad yesterday, the staff were great and gave us a right laugh. Lovely team and the lunch we got went down a treat. 10/10 would recommend :)

On a Thursday afternoon the pub was dead. The guy behind the bar said that was usual for a week day afternoon. The staff were very friendly and the price of the drinks was very competitive. The other premises in Market Square were very quiet as well.

The door staff were warm and friendly upon arrival... The bar staff where helpful and efficient, bringing drinks and breakfast quicker than expected... The breakfast itself was plentiful and well put together. I would highly recommend for service and quality. Thoroughly enjoyable...

We booked a table for a meal for nine adults ( 1 wheelchair) in Saturday 6th August, walked in and the noise was horrendous, approached a young member of staff to check our table, he could barely hear what I was asking ( not his fault) music and rabble far too loud 👎🏻 He then proceeded to clear a table and ask drinkers to move, the table was filthy and bench seat had hazard tape covering a burst 😡 I told him we were there for a meal and would not be able to sit there and why could we not have our table in the patio area in the square, he said all tables were taken 😡 There was no way our group could eat there and try to converse with each other and I had to tell the young man to cancel. Very angry and disappointed O’Neills 😡👎🏻 As I have eaten at your other Glasgow eateries but we booked Merchant Square because we needed wheelchair access. We left and won’t be back! I DO NOT recommend eating here. Management NEED to get this sorted!

It's hard to find a better bar for atmosphere during the footie Lovely staff, Good grub and drinks and a top tier TV to round it off. Brilliant venue 🍀🔥

Awful experience. Only one person working in the kitchen which is fine but this information has to be relayed to customers when ordering food. To wait over an hour for a panini and a pizza is shocking, especially when the food is average. Someone came over to the table before we ordered and there was no mention of an hour wait for food!!

I’ve visited this pub twice recently and both times had shocking pints of Guinness. For an Irish bar this is a travesty! One time it was dead and the other time super busy, but the results were the same. The issue lies in the fact that the staff don’t know the correct method of pouring Guinness so you don’t get the nice creamy foam dome on the top. They also often serve them in incorrect glasses, so far I’ve had Carling and Hop House glasses. The combination of these factors leads to a terrible pint…please someone train the staff to pour a good pint of Guinness!

Zero atmosphere, high level lighting was very dusty and needs a good clean. Prices were a bit steep too. I have increased my review from 1 to 2 stars as I received a very nice reply from the team. It's not possible to reply to their reply but I do understand that high level cleaning is a periodic task due to safety/cost constraints but feel that when a place is empty and you're looking around these things are noticed more. I honestly cannot remember which day last week it was but I think it was Thursday about 4pm.

Place can be quite busy and can wait a while to be served at the bar. Good atmosphere although the door staff were quite rude. Best door staff was the female that worked there last year, treated everyone in a friendly manner and fair, always saw her interacting with Customers the way they should, I personally think there should be a female bouncer. Apart from that we enjoyed our night

Was here last weekend and it’s such a great spot! It was a lot of fun with the music and all the people around plus it’s in the city center and not too badly priced. We got served by Lily a few times and she was always so attentive and making sure we didn’t wait to long to order. Will be back xx

The festive buffet was delicious. There was 25 of us and we had the courtyard bit to ourselves so we had our own we dance place, it wasn't too noisy and busy so we could chat easily with each other. And loved that we didn't have to go to the bar to order our drinks!

Overall great staff team. Friendly, efficient and nothing ever a bother. Service is always quick and the food is very affordable. They've gained a wonderful addition lately with Jackie joining; always takes an interest and chats away, remembers the regulars and it makes such a difference. Used to see her at her last pub, they've lost an absolute gem, but I'm chuffed for O'neills and I'm sure there will be plenty of developments ahead. Keep it up team O'neills! I'll be back soon for a few!

This was our first dining experience in Scotland and we absolutely loved it! From the service when we entered, to our drinks, to the wait service. Everyone was extremely welcoming and hospitable! The bangers and mash was absolutely delicious and the chicken stack was surprisingly wonderful! The only complaint is that they were out of fish and chips but we certainly made do with other menu items! Thanks O'Neill's!

Can't say too much I only went in for one drink before moving on to another venue. Service was good and the beverage was as I expected. Did not eat but the menu looked good. Excellent location will visit again and this time have some food and drinks.

Lovely big bar with plenty of room. Was quiet when I was there as it was an afternoon leaving doo. Great selection of booze but city prices. Spotlessly clean and a nice staff. Has some pizza and it was very good.

Still awaiting a call from last Tuesday.... deposited money in gaming machine, took money didnt credit machine... told 48hr call out, now back home and still no call from O'Neills.. they can keep the £20 but stay away from the machines, profits profits profits and O'NEILL⁩S are not responsible for any failed deposits as sub contracted to another company... Shocking levels service.

Great wee bar to grab a few drinks and food. Decently priced. My husband and I were nervous about going out during the pandemic but our server Louise, a pretty and bubbly lass made us feel right at home. She took our drink order promptly and made sure our drinks and bellies were full. Would 100% recommend.

Could only stay 2 minutes as music was manically loud. This may be a regular thing as the same happened a couple of months ago. Also noted that the normal exit to the rest of merchant's square was blocked off for a private party so had to go back out onto the street to get to a quieter place.

DESERVES NO STARS!!! This is the worst place to eat well starve really I have ever came across. Family meal was a disaster waited 1.30 hours for our main course. When we decided to order some deserts I was told it would be 45 minutes so we decided we wouldn't have any, however I did ask for my child's desert which was ice cream (cold desert!!!!!) and part of the kids menu I was told it would be 45 minutes also. I did say to the boy at the bar that it wasn't really good for reviews and he just shrugged.Never ever in my life have I ever ever seen this kind of service. We won't be giving it a second chance.
