Bar Pub

😠 Usually a great wee pub, all the punters are lovely but this Friday we were greeted by a hostile clique headed by the manageress!!! I will never be back, the hostile female manager created such a bad atmosphere when I was there this weekend with some friends. She clearly has mental health issues but... People often mention Great, staff, friendly, good, great, atmosphere, people, prices, service, Friendly,

Usually a great wee pub, all the punters are lovely but this Friday we were greeted by a hostile clique headed by the manageress!!! I will never be back, the hostile female manager created such a bad atmosphere when I was there this weekend with some friends. She clearly has mental health issues but I honestly have never felt so unwelcome or unwanted in a pub before. Our crime was wanting to have 8/9 people in the bar, all spending lots of money, singing in the kareoke and dancing. I think part of her issue, in addition to her insanity, and her need for a personality by-pass, is she is jealous of any females who come into the pub who are better looking or more glamorous than she! She was openly hostile and canvassing other regulars to make sure we are were not causing bother! We weren’t!!! Disgusting antagonistic bullying behaviour…I have heard from other regulars she often sits and just glares at people, I had just never experienced it first hand. I hope she gets the help she needs however It’s a real shame for the pub because the average age of the HJ is 60+, they will never secure the next generation of customers with her behaviour! RIP Hielan Jessie, it was nice whilst it lasted.

Great atmosphere on game days, right up the Gallowgate near the barras. Typical old man pub 35ml measures. Right across from Morrisons so if you need any quick munchies, fags....whatever it's right across the road. A few takeaways n restaurants around to so if you get to fuu don't worry, plenty of options plus it's maybe only a 10/15 min walk into the town centre.

Great wee town local... (Sunday) Live entertainment... Crowded... Get there early, if you want a seat... Friendly staff, decent prices ! Older crowd... OK, if you like a typical 'Local Pub' atmosphere ! ☆☆☆☆

I only go here before a gig at the Barrowlands but I should go more often because it's a proper, old school Glasgow pub. Friendly, good beer, good place to go...

Popped in one Thursday about 3.30, as it was near the Tennents brewery. The place was busy, lot's at the bar and most seats were taken. 2 barpersons on. Quick service, good pint of Tennents. Would definitely be back.

Great Glagow Pub. Right people. Right Attitude. Right Prices. Have been to the Jessie a few times. For the virgin visitor, try the karaoke on Friday night. Great mix of people, songs and laughter.

Agree with other reviewer who would give it 5 if it had real ale. Lovely old pub in an 18th Century building. A bit of an oasis in an area of football themed bars. There's fantastic history in how it got its name. Friendly atmosphere and very pleasant staff.
