My first meal in Scotland and I was lucky. My wife suggested this restaurant and we were intrigued by the Beef Wellington. Since it takes about an hour to prepare, we went with the baked warm blue cheesecake. It is hard to describe as it was a whole story of flavors. This already gave us a hint of what to expect. The beef was big, it was tender, and it was excellent. We skipped dessert because we were full and didn't want to overeat after eating something so delicious.

Went for celebratory Chateaubriand and could not fault anything about the whole experience. Perfectly seasoned and cooked, wonderful hospitality. For a higher end restaurant you aren't made feel out of place even after just popping in after your shift.

This place is located at the level 1 of the building - I almost skipped through because it looked like it was close from the outside. Glad I managed to ring the bell and got inside. Probably the best beef wellington I have ever had. The soup of the day and the fillet sea bass was fantastic too. Unfortunately, dessert was not as exceptional. Service was top notch. It is pricey but I bet you can expect that from such a central, ideal location. Would recommend if you are planning for a proper restaurant experience while in town.

Sunday was an absolute delight with my partner! The experience was beyond wonderful. The waiter was very accommodating, a friendly and warm demeanor. The restaurant's ambiance struck the perfect balance between classy sophistication and a laid-back, relaxing vibe. Food and drinks - they were simply amazing, I wholeheartedly recommend this place with a resounding 100% and can't wait to return!

Dining should be a good experience aside from any pandemic, and at the prices offered at Glaschu, there are many exceptional options across glasgow to enjoy. Glaschu unfortunately fell short during our visit on several aspects. Firstly, good luck if you have any specific dietary requirements. When asked if a dish could be amended the response from the chef to pass on via our server was “chef is very proud of his menu and isn’t prepared to amend any dishes”. Dietary, allergy and religious requirements, paramount at any dining establishment, are second here to a chef’s perception of his menu that supersedes guest’s requirements. Service was polite and friendly but not knowledgable on the menu, unfamiliar with the cheeses on offer with vague descriptions as “blue crumbly cheese” and simply “cheddar”. Although nice atmosphere and design, a very disappointing experience.

A very nice restaurant with brilliant service from staff. The food was quite nice but I wouldn't really say amazing. Being blunt, it doesn't warrant the prices they charge. I've been to restaurants with more flavourful dishes for much less. Not sure I'd be going back here in future in all honesty.

As always, service excellent, food perfect. This lunch visit I asked for a cocktail which was unfamiliar to the restaurant. Elsewhere, hands are raised in 'we don't do that one'. Not at the Western Club. The drink was provided without show, and perfect.

The worst experience. The staff were not friendly or polite. The food was cold and undercooked. Avoid this place in future.

Everything was great, from the decor and mood lighting right down to the thick soft carpet! Above all else though, the food was excellent. Probably the best Venison I've ever had. Would love to go again.

First time trying this lovely restaurant and went for the Sunday lunch menu. It was very good value for money, the food was absolutely superb, the service was top notch and the restaurant itself is a very nice spot to sit and enjoy a meal. The pickled mussels are a nice wee nostalgic appetiser, the pickled watermelon and feta was very good but a bit more watermelon would have been appreciated. Beetroot and orange cured salmon was the other starter it was also very good. The mains were the lamb roast of the day, cooked absolutely perfect, the accompanying veg was superb and the Yorkshire pudding crispy and light. If there was a minor complaint the roast potatoes were a bit too big and not as fluffy in the middle as you'd expect. The charred rump steak was the other main, cooked perfectly and very tasty served with French fries and an amazing peppercorn sauce. We had a couple of cocktails to finish off and they were as good as anything you'll get in Glasgow, all in all a superb meal and will definitely be back.

One of the best meal we had in UK. We dined during one of the quieter evening which we enjoyed very much. Staff was attentive. Food was outstanding especially the lamb which was packed with umami.

One of the top steak house I’ve been to in Glasgow. Quiet & elegant atmosphere and friendly server. The citrus flavour of the soup was very pronounced and the pine nuts were fragrant. I ordered a blue steak, the meat was soft and tender without much blood. They made the fat very well, for a fact it even reminded me of eating foie gras. I tried red wine sauce this time, and it’s much more refreshing than the greasy pepper/seaweed/mushroom sauce I had before. The dark pile of mushroom & ketchup sauce actually tasted ok but the shape was a bit unpalatable.

We came to this luxuriously and beautifully decorated restaurant for a market menu lunch. The beef, soup tasted good. Our seats can see GOMA through the window. The staff were ver friendly! Love to come back again!

Exclusive and sick restaurant for a memorable dine out. We had the duck 🦆 and was super tasty. My only concerns are the limited main courses and the price. Certainly not a place to visit frequently.

Chanced upon this lovely restaurant near the GOMA and decided to give it a shot. Though it took us a short while to figure out how to access the restaurant, the food was surprisingly good. Thoroughly enjoyed the scallops and the venison! Good job!

Went for lunch with friends after a recommendation and was not disappointed. Great food, wine, and service. We weren't rushed even though it's Christmas week and busy.

Quirky combinations on the menu. Expensive. Beef wellington takes a while to prepare but if you order it Medium it's worth the wait. Venison ordered 'pink' and it was lovely. Brown crab arancini tasted more like a potato croquette. Olives were dusted with salt flakes and they were delicious! Service was slow to start, we arrived on time but were told to sit in the bar. Waited 15 minutes for our table and no-one came to take our drinks order. First course arrived and we weren't given plates however one of the girls noticed and got them for us quickly. From then on the service picked up. Toilets were a disappointment... Cabinet doors hanging off, toilet seats hanging off. Definitely needs an uplift. Overall a calm atmosphere with lovely food however very expensive.

Location on the first floor of the western club Glasgow. beautiful interior, low lighting and patterned carpet to the first floor. The restaurant design is chic, modern. Good value 2/3 course meal with a discount if member of the western club. The heritage tomato with goat cheese on puff pastry was excellent. The coley with clams and sauce was also excellent. Coley was crispy on the outside and just done on the inside. Nice greens too. Pinot noir was good. Service attentive.

The 2 course lunch was unbelievably good, chicken was well seasoned and cooked to perfection and the steak was well seared and not overcooked at all. Well worth the money!

A posh corner for thoughtful contemporary dishes with Scottish ingredients. Olives are beautifully marinated, zingy and appetizing. “The most amazing olives I’ve had in my life,” to quote my mom. Salmon Cornets are lovely, a good combination of savory and sweet flavors, melting and crunchy textures. Starters aren’t much larger than appetizers. Scallops are nicely grilled, plump and juicy, and goes well with the cauliflower purée and nduja butter. Charred Zucchini comes with delightful quinoa crisps and sesame sauce. Halibut is seared to have a crispy top. The flesh is a little dry, but the chestnut and celeriac purée is enjoyable. Duck breast is a little tough to chew. Duck confit is awesome. The seasoning is nice. Pork is quite tender and tastes good with the red wine sauce. Potato terrine is crispy Shaved cauliflower is interesting with a nice balance of sweet, savory and sour flavors. Fine beans come with toasted almond. The service is friendly, attentive, without being intrusive.

  • 4/5 Natalia C. 10 months ago on Google
The food was really tasty. Starters ares a little bit tinny but mains are great. The duck with foi is surprisingly great and the risotto so delicious. I didnt try the wellington, but my mate said that it was amazing!

Guy's restaurant was my go to city centre restaurant choice and a firm favourite. I have been looking for a new city centre haunt and after just one visit feel I have found it in Glaschu. The lobster cannelioni was still on my mind this morning when I woke up, it was beautifully balanced well cooked and presented and a dish I shall remember for a long time. Myself and my dinning campion went for for the Beef Wellington another. Superb dish and we were in firm agreement that the best pastry either of us had ever tasted. The service was note perfect, friendly, knowledgable staff with a passion for the restaurant. They were neither to intrusive or to absent. They made helpful recommendations and took time to ease us into our evening. Already planning next visit looking forward to visiting my new favourite city centre haunt.

Tucked into the corner of royal exchange square near Thomas pink, you might walk past it if you didn't know it was there. Quality dining experience from start to finish. Staff are all well versed and attentive. On to the food....starters were delicious. The chicken liver parfait was lovely and perfectly proportioned. The Parma ham salad however was slightly smaller than expected. Mains were superb, the Chicken and Chorizo was very nice but the confit of duck stole the show with the meat falling off the bone. Deserts, the Gingerbread with Rum and Raisin Ice-cream and the Maple syrup Crème brûlée were a perfect finish to the meal. Overall highly recommended.
