This is the best Asian Fusion Restaurant in Glasgow (that I've been to) We shared 6 dishes from the starter menu and every one was a winner. I enjoyed the food so much I forgot to take photos of it. We had Sticky plum ribs Soft shell crab Crispy duck roll Scallops Gyoza Salt & Pepper Squid All great and I'm trying to engineer a meeting again there next week just to go back! Service is very attentive. The only downside is it's not cheap. But it's well worth the money. So I'm not taking stars off for that.

Came here for dinner on a busy Saturday night. We were seated promptly and served quickly. Service overall was professional and the servers are attentive to the tables, topping up water promptly and clearing empty plates. To drink, we ordered the Hanoi margarita, shanghai night and the mandarin mojito- all were very flavourful and easy to drink. For entrees, we ordered chicken & shiitake nushroom dumplings, sticky plum ribs and chilli salt and pepper squid. The squid and ribs were the highlight of the evening, and are full of flavour (see photos). For mains, we tried the king pao chicken and pork belly, both were tasty but were outdone by the entrees (see photos). Overall a quality dining experience and worth a visit in Glasgow.

We booked a table here last night and I've got to say the whole experience was outstanding including the quality of the food and the service. The staff were very polite & professional. Probably the best Chinese food I've tasted. 😋

Delicious, authentic Asian Fusion. Excellent service and good value. Be sure to try the Prawn Crackers, Satay Sauce with anything at all, Gyoza (steamed), the Chilli Salt and Pepper Ribs, and stay with me here, the Broccoli with Oyster Sauce - Oh my Lord, it's SO GOOD! You must go, because this is the sort of wee gem of a place that should always be busy and returned to for years and years.

Short version: high quality moderate portion dim sum in centre of Glasgow Long version: wandered up Hope Street looking for ideas, and this attracted, as noticed an oriental couple eating here. Excellent service, attentive without being overbearing and friendly staff. I knew what I wanted from the menu, yet they still gave good advice. Chose ribs from fried, salmon and king prawn from steamed. All piping hot, wonderful flavours (chose no to soy sauce). Additional star from standard 3 for locking me in for a 2nd night by agreeing to keep a half bottle of rioja for me on a gentleman's agreement. Final star to 5 as the food did taste so good. This is not "pile it high" at a cheap price, this is pretty perfect food (if one likes dim sum) at a good price for what you're getting. Thanks.

The food here was simply amazing and service was friendly and fast. The waitress recommended the chive and crab dumplings and while I was a little skeptical it was well worth ordering. The restaurant can accommodate groups as well, is close to active areas in Glasgow and if you want to get an after meal drink, a famous place is just on the other side of the street.

Hadn't been to the restaurant in about 4 years and had totally forgotten how good it was! Amazing food, full of flavour and great selection of dishes to choose from. Staff were great and very attentive. We ordered quite a few dishes as there was so much we wanted to try, everything was delicious. My beef fillet main was 👌

Amazing Asian fusion food with fabulous veggie/vegan offerings. Light, crisp, differentiated flavours with some of the best deep fried tofu I've ever had. Non alcoholic Heineken and tasty £5 mocktails as well. A small place that was packed all night so book. Excellent service with water constantly topped up: most responsible.

Hadn't been in a long time but popped in a quiet Sunday night for some dim sum and a couple of drinks and it was every bit as good as I remembered. It's a fairly small menu but there's plenty to choose from and the food is excellent, the dumplings both boiled (crab meat and chive) and fried (chicken and lemongrass) are some of the best I've had and the salt n chilli tofu was also very good. The staff are lovely and the service was great, definitely won't leave it so long to come back and try more of the menu

Kate loved the vegetarian options and the clay pot aubergine was melt in the mouth. Staff were really attentive. I highly recommend the soft shell crab which had a warm heat to them that left my lips tingling. Perfect spot for a lovely meal.

Food was geared for western tastes so what is advertised as Hot only has a few seconds kick to it before dissipating. Prices are similar to other places so don't expect much change from 35 pounds a head without any alcohol for a starter and main meal with a side of rice or veg.

This is one of the best Asian meals I've ever had. The plum ribs were an absolute standout - the best I've ever had! Can also recommend their twist on a Pina colada. Can highly recommend this place, especially their dim sum options.

Im singaporean and the food here is MAD GOOD their satay sauce is on pezoint and reminds me of the hawker centers at home. The dim sum dishes are must tries!! 10/10 recommend. Besides tasting heavenly, the food strikes a good balance between authenticity and creativity. You're getting the real deal when it comes to east and southeast asian cuisine but more than that, its uniquely recreated

The staff there are very attentive and service is super nice. The food is of great taste especially the mandarin and ginger cheesecake. The only downside to me as a Chinese is the food is localised to suit the taste buds of westerners, which makes it more like a modern fusion cuisine instead of authentic Chinese food.

Had the Pre-theatre menu, food was excellent,best tofu I've had in Glasgow, and staff were great. Not to expensive. Didn't feel like we were being rushed. Decor was very nice, with lots of nice little touches. Definitely be back and would recommend to everyone.

Thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. All the dishes were authentic and delicious, as well as thoughtfully presented. My only qualm would be with the service- I had to ask for water and utensils, which weren't provided even as I was being sat down at my table. Staff were insistent on me getting something from the drinks menu, which I found a bit odd.

Another great visit! Back in Glasgow again for work after a 3 year absence. A number of changes on the restaurant scene, not all good, but Opium did not fail to impress again! Lovely food, pleasant ambiance, lovely evening.

Had the best meal here tonight. Couldn't fault anything. Food was incredible and the cocktails we had were so good. Service was great, very relaxed and friendly. Will be back to try more of the food.

Very tasty good value for money and staff friendly

Beautiful place with lovely food. The waiting staff are always so elegant and attentive. The flavors of the meals are fresh and delicious and never overpowering. Some dishes are a bit more hit and miss but in general there's something here for everyone, even if noticeably less for vegetarians.

Nice clean and modern looking place. 4th visit and not disappointing yet. Always a pleasure for both food and service. We opted for full menu, portion size is good and there is a nice selection of dishes. Food looks great for the items that I have had, arrives piping hot and fresh. Good for cocktails and mocktails, decent selection of wine and well priced. Good hygiene measures and spacing

Excellent food. Our 7:30pm booking turned into an 8:30pm booking. It would have been annoying but we had a good chat whilst waiting outside. Very glad it was not raining. Service was a bit terse. There were some plastic screens between some tables but not between tables in the middle of the room. We were not too worried about this but it did seem a little close.

First visit to a restaurant since the start of the whole covid 19 situation. Quite busy, perhaps due to the eat out to help out scheme. I was very pleased with the nice tasty food and modern covid secure atmosphere in the restaurant

Superb! Best oriental restaurant in the area.

Arrived here at 945 on a Monday but was still able to sit down just before they closed at 10.00 PM. After the reccomendations and reviews we had to try it out. The service was great and the food was amazing. Fried won ton, spicy prawn toast, king Pao chicken and bbq grilled chicken all were delicious. Thanks guys !!

Opium was one of the best meals we had on our trip to Europe. We chose about 6-7 things to order and every one of them was delicious. The soup dumpling was so good that we had to get a second order. Would recommend this to anyone in the area.

In Glasgow for work and decided to pop in for dinner on a Monday evening after walking past and thinking it looked very cosy. Food was outstanding, I had 4 small plates and loved everything. Staff were also lovely and friendly and service was quick. I will definitely be back!!!

All in all was nice meal but expected delicious and was slightly disappointed. Ordered beef which although edible should have been melt in your mouth which it was not. The seafood medley at £25 again was nice but not anywhere near £25 worth. On initially arriving I was trying to order a glass of wine , the waitress hadn't a clue what I was saying to the point it got quite embarrassing for me and her. After the meal tried to order a coffee and the same waitress had to go and get another waitress to clarify what I was ordering.....needs addressing massively. I am very polite and clear spoken so there should have been no communication issues.

Had lunch here last Saturday in party of 6. It was superb as usual. Not my first experience of Opium but was for 2 of our party and they were hugely impressed with cuisine. Highly recommend. Well done Opium......again

I am honestly not able to remember a single thing that ruined my experience. I came in in a very busy time but they were really nice to get me seated. Food was Absolutely scrumptious ! I wanted to try so many items on the menu but managed three dishes which were 10/10. Highly recommended
