Amazing diner! Authentic Asian cuisine which preparation is a proper culinary show. The chefs interact with guests and make them feel welcome. Food is absolutely fantastic, full of flavour and oriental aroma. A must visit when in Glasgow.

Went here for my brother's birthday and have been before for a work night out. Absolutely love the show by the Tepenyaki chefs and the atmosphere. The food was so good! Wish we got more steak though. Dessert (ice cream) was a bit basic though, but then so is ice cream generally. Wish I got the cheesecake instead! 😋

I would recommend as a fun experience in Glasgow, especially for large groups. The food was tasty, and the communal experience was very enjoyable. The show was a bit vanilla, but is still worth going once for. The staff really give this place the fourth star.

We went here for my partner’s birthday, we had the salmon teppanyaki. It was fantastic, was a nice show with the cooking, a bit of fun and games at the table when the chef throws the food to you and you try to catch it with your mouth. The waiting stuff was really friendly and attentive, we ordered some sushi and a lot of drinks that night. I would recommend to go to the restaurant for an experience and have some fantastic food!!

The five stars are for the food and our wonderful waitress. We went at dinner time, and there were three waitresses, only one worked for the whole restaurant and the others did nothing! The vegetarian menu was so good and tasty and the chef working in front of us was a master of the grill! Expensive but worth it!

Overcooked meat, lots of cheap rice and veg and potatoes. Not much showmanship either. Cocktails overly sugary and didnt taste of ingredients. In total. £71 for this and that includes automatically added service charge

We keep coming back to celebrate special occasions and for a fun time with friends and family. It has an nviting, elegant, romantic atmosphere.

Really enjoyed it. Was a little disappointed that even though I stated at booking it was for my son's 18th they didn't do anything. But other than that it was fab. Scallops were delicious 😋

Visited on a quiet weekday and staffs were really nice and friendly. There’re only 3 set of customers including us, seems like you would need to wait till other customers to finish starters then the chief would start preparing the tenpayaki bits. The chief was fun and engaging, he got some tricks which was entertaining while waiting for the main. Ordered the vegetarian menu and the tofu steak was yum, the aubergine was a bit salty would recommend to have it with the fried rice. Overall was great experience when there’s no many customers in store.

First time there. Got treated as a graduation present. Got the medium rare Lamb Teriyaki with garlic and sesame served with vegetables, egg fried rice and sauted potatoes. You're allocated a round table with a kitchen in the middle. The table fills and the chef saute the potatoes and throw them towards you, where you have to catch them in your mouth. Then they grill everything on the flat top and the food is served burning hot. Starters and desserts come from a separate kitchen. Great atmosphere for a night out. Prices are kind of high but worth the treat. My meal was £25 but they have a 3 course set menu for £30 I believe.

This restaurant is an eye opener, from the amazing range of cocktails they serve to the amazing food they cook. Sapporo is a restaurant that is certainly entertaining and well worth the visit. The staff are super friendly, attentive and always there when you need something. As for the chef's that cook at your table, I've never laughed so much having dinner. To round this off it's an entertaining great dinning experience that's well worth the money.

Lovely experience and customer participation. Food good. Lots of choice with Alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. I cannot say the waiting staff were inefficient but once you had ordered and received your Food, they did not approach you again. I had to request a dessert menu but I never got one, so eventually just paid for the main courses and left. That said, I would still return and recommend the restaurant

Was very excited to go, but ultimately let down. Was expecting more from the show. The chef was very nice, cracked jokes and all and was absolutely a master of what he does, but the whole thing was felt very quick. The food was okay, but wouldn't say that it was anything spectacular. Would probably come again to show this experience to people who haven't done it before, but would consider ordering something else.

This is my 3rd visit at Sapporo Teppanyaki in Glasgow and they never disappoint. Overall a lovely evening with good food and drinks. The ambience of the place is great and so is the experience. It is slightly on the expensive side but totally worth it for special celebrations. We were a group of 8 of which we had one vegetarian request which was very well managed. The staff is friendly and very attentive. I would definitely recommend this place for a unique dining experience.

Fantastic place and amazing food. The show was delivered with a fun performance which turned our dinner into experience. Price was very reasonable also, considering what you get for money.

I came here for my friend’s birthday and I had a really lovely time. It was fun to see the chef make the food in front of us and the staff were lovely. We had a starter, main and sushi and the food was amazing. (were students so we had 50% off and we each spent from about £20-30). I will definitely be coming back.

Fantastic place to eat with sometimes complete strangers alongside you, atmosphere is special

Place is looking quite tired and run down, no lock on the toilet door, toilet rolls just stacked up on the floor etc. The lady cooking for us was amazing, but the rest of the staff were quite irritable and a bit 'annoyed' at being there. Food is fine, all a bit same same and you are really paying for the show, but this place needs to work on its presentation and service to warrant a visit. Overpriced for now.

I had promised my son-in-law a visit to Sapporo just as the Covid-19 broke out last year. It had been sometime since we had been there so we were pleased to see that it was mainly unchanged. We're a party of 4. On arrival, were taken to our table. For a Friday night, it was only about 70% full which wasn't bad considering that we were venturing out more as the Covid-19 restrictions had been lifted. We had all gone for the set menu. Whilst we waited for our starters. The 2 chefs kept us all entertained. All I can say was that we all thoroughly enjoyed the meal which was excellent and the great service from the to staff. The icing on the cake was that my son-in-law said that he really enjoyed the whole evening and that the food was excellent.

  • 3/5 Campbell A. 4 years ago on Google
Great atmosphere and theatrical experience, but that's just about what you're paying for. Food is quite bland and cooked unevenly, probably due to the fact they have to cook so much so quickly in an entertaining way on 1 cooking element! Service is pretty posh-restaurant-standard and the food is overpriced. The chef's actually doing the performances are what make this place actually fun to go to, but don't expect a really nice meal or great service, it's all about the performance.

Brilliant dining experience with a great show from the chefs lighting up big fires and cooking in front of you. Food quality is excellent. My beef tataki were cooked just right, the pieces of steak just melt in mouth. The tuna sashimi were thick cut, big slices, fresh and tasty, the tempura was hot and crispy, and the lamb medium steak was an absolute treat, the tastiest I have ever tried.

Hey, this place is a fantastic place to visit. You get to watch them cook the food in front of you; the guy chucked us some tatties. My dad got one hit of his massive foreheed I got it 1st try and got £5 with it. I love you guys. Stay safe ✌️ ✌️

Sapporo has a very good, lively energy about it, the chefs were brilliant and the servers were lovely. The food was great, particularly the banana tempura. I'd definitely come back again.

Went here for dinner with a few friends and enjoyed it very much! They cook the food in front of you so you sit with others around the grill and the chefs are very entertaining and engaging with you. It's also very fun when they cook some potatoes and go round the table flicking it to each person and they have to try and catch it in their mouths. Lots of fun and food was pretty good too!

  • 4/5 Dan 1 year ago on Google
A great, fun experience if you're looking for something a little different. Chefs have fun with guests and it's very interactive (as expected with Teppanyaki), albeit for a short time. The food is very good and obviously cooked in front of you, which makes it taste all the better. The ONLY thing I would say, is you do really have to be comfortable sitting with other unknown guests due to the way that the seating/chefs stations are laid out. If this doesn't phase you, you'll have a great time! It's not a cheap dining experience, however you're also paying for the experience so this is to be expected.

Had a great experience. Food was delicious. Only criticism is it felt like you were eating separate portions of rice, noodle's, stir fry and meat choices...unless you have the patience to sit and wait until all served.

  • 3/5 ninian b. 3 years ago on Google
The food was tasty if rather salty. The table cooking is a performance. The early bird menu is still advertised but not available during EOTHO. A 10% enforced service charge in the notional total price seemed a bit cheeky, perhaps understandable if it all goes to the kitchen / waiting staff who may be hard pressed at this time. I imagine it shard to do this dorm of cooking at table but putting 3 parties on 1 table with minimal spacing, 1 seat at a corner, rather misses out on social distancing. Lack if hot water and soap in the gents compounds this. Overall nice food but need to look at some I'd the distancing hygiene issues. And maybe be more upfront about costs.

My sister and I visited on May 29, 2017 on her birthday. We had just come from a long journey by train and bus from England and wanted nothing more than to enjoy our time while she was visiting me while I lived in Glasgow. Firstly, the waiter *nearly completely* ignored us, he just couldn't stop fawning over a mother-daughter duo from Kentucky USA...I mean, we're from the states too, but(?) he spent and inordinate amount of time tending to them, and chatting, and came back to us as afterthoughts. We were neglected on everything from getting our drinks out, to asking us what we wanted to order, to nearly not getting our desserts out to us at all. The Kentucky duo were seated at the same time as us, right next to us, and they were given exceptional service. We had to take our desserts to go. :-( And this meal, at that time, on a student budget was not cheap. We were so disappointed, they didn't even come out to sing my sister her birthday song. The only silver lining were the chefs: they were outstanding and friendly! Watching them cook and present the food was fun and they brought out some nice jokes to lighten things up. In all, we never came back to this location again as this place didn't merit a second visit.

Went here for a special occasion, and thoroughly enjoyed it. From the bar staff through to your personal chef / comedian, they couldn't do enough to ensure that you had a good time. Food was also very tasty, and I would highly recommend that you experience this at least once. Not sure I would go for a regular meal as not the cheapest night out, however will keep an eye out for discounts.

I've been few times over an year and always had a great experience. Staff is very nice and helpful. The place is informal but elegant and very much clean. The food is absolutely great and the cook in front of you makes it also fun and enjoyable. It's not cheap, but I would say not overpriced. It's a fair price, and the portions are very generous. Sushi is also good, but I would not suggest it as a first choice. I went on a Sunday with my children and they had free face painting and discount for the whole family. Overall, it's a five star.

Friendly staff especially the handsome and elegant dark haired guy. Our entertaining and cheery cook was Thai and didn’t understand Japanese. What a pity! The starters were very disappointing duck spring rolls and tempura squids. Extremely tasteless: both of them. Happy with the main course of salmon and duck terryiake. Yet the potatoes are really unnecessary. Rice and veg were tasty and the Ikeban beer is great. Will go back but without starters. Sushis looked very supermarket type. Very friendly atmosphere and ok to sit with strangers.

  • 4/5 Jennifer M. 5 years ago on Google
Great food, good variety on the menu to suit all tastes. Entertainment was great as well - would be good for families to keep children entertained. The tricks the chefs do asking people to try to catch fried potatoes in their mouths is pretty funny. Wouldn't go here if you were looking for a quiet meal, but if you're up for a laugh it's a great place to eat! Only issue was the service was a bit slow for getting drinks, and they weren't busy so unsure why this took so long. Ordered a drink with my meal, and by the time it arrived we were asking for the bill to leave.

We went on a Thursday evening. It wasn't overly busy, we hadn't booked as we didn't want the tepanyaki experience so we were directed to sit in the lounge/bar section. It took a bit of time to get served but as soon as we were, all the staff were attentive and helpful. Especially our waiter, the Cypriot guy with the eyebrow piercing! From the set menus we had the Emperor and Samurai options so could share and try the different things available. The portions were decent size, and everything we ate was tasty. We cleared our plates for every course. The prices are what would expect and you do get value for money. I would recommend, more so for a special occasion or if you are with a group.
