Because despite being assured by reception (and the website) that hotel parking was included I got hit with a £100 parking fine! I filed a formal complaint and was again assured by the hotel that they would also back me up. The complaint has just come back from POPLA indicating that my appeal has not succeeded. This is nothing less than daylight robbery. I will not be complying with the fine and am really disappointed at the failure of the hotel to provide the evidence they assured me they would.

Do not recommend! Rude staff arguing with me when trying to check in, room wasn’t fully cleaned - bin not emptied and stained towel. Hairs on bed and very dirty dusty floor. Half the rooms have broken ac which I was not informed of when checking in. Light switches not working, windows broken and not fully closing meaning hearing outside noise. Restaurant was shut for the whole stay and wasn’t informed upon check in. Submitted a complaint like recommended by bar staff member who tried to assist me and still not received a response!

A bit of a mixed feeling on this one, when we checked in the heater in the room wasn't working and we were checked into the wrong size room, we asked that the room be changed but they came in, fixed the heater and said they won't change the room. After a proper complain and a phone call, the room was changed to the right room size. So previous room was not up to standard, new room was good, everything worked as it should, room was clean, linens and towels are not changed until you are checking out, location is great, parking available for free at the hotel on a first come first serve basis, so many nearby attractions and if you are given a room with a good view, then you will love the scenery. The breakfast is decent, if you intend to have breakfast, add it on when booking for the room, it works out cheaper. Not sure i will stay again but never say never.

Nice property and friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were nice but was disappointed with stained sheets and dirty mugs. Bathroom pipes became blocked but staff were helpful and understanding. Good area however not overly close to shops, but good parking availability. Pros: lift in building, free onsite parking, heater in room, easy to navigate, dog friendly, and friendly staff. Cons: stained bedsheets and no extra blankets, broken shower handle, not overly close to any shops.

We came with the family at 2pm. They told us to wait two hours because the room was not ready. We lost a few attractions that day. no towels in the bathroom, no coffee, tea, cups, paid wifi. dirty in the room. holes in the walls and in the ceiling. instead of working the staff just talked to each other. cold and spoiled food. they took £ 100 more from our account. I do not recommend it.

Was there for the fall out boy concert in october of 2023, Staff were incredibly polite and gave information about the area, like good places to head for drinks after the concert, local shops, etc, though we kindly declined the drinks. Left an item in the hotel by accident and it was found within seconds and left behind the front desk for me to pick up. Beds were fairly comfy, TV had free view channels. Will absolutely come here again for a place to stay after a concert!

Excellent location with parking. Staff are really friendly and helpful. The room was decent, a comfortable bed. We had dinner and breakfast, food was great. star lost because of a few things missing. like handtowels and teaspoon in the room, and the continental breakfast was a bit lacking in selection. But would definitely book again, for price and service.

Do NOT stay here unless you are not bringing a car. Absolute shambles, parked in their car park and checked car in at reception to then receive a parking charge we’re not getting out of. Emailed many times to no reply, phoned hotel to talk to one of your employees on the phone where I was basically dismissed on the grounds of ‘we have been having issues for months regarding customers being charged by civil enforcement for parking and it’s got nothing to do with us even if you park in our car park, we’ve been getting a lot of bad press for this’ absolute JOKE. Do something about it then! Who on earth is running your establishment that they haven’t rectified this issue? WHY is this not being passed onto customers pre booking and arrival, you LET us log our car in at the reception of the hotel with no warning of what might happen. Actually watched me do it!!!! Absolute shambles and will Be passing on your very unprofessional service far and wide. Still waiting for a reply from management from June WOW

So I stayed in this hotel for five nights in Jan 24’— it was good! Everyone at the front desk was really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. The location was good and I could park my car there and walk to the city centre for 25 minutes or so. The heater in the room worked well too. The only issue I had was the door to the room wouldn’t close automatically—I had to manually close it properly. Is it the Savoy? No, but if you need a clean room to stay and a hotel which allows you to park your car near the city centre, then I’d recommend this hotel.

We booked this hotel as it’s a stones throw from the ovo arena. The staff were lovely and always happy to help me with anything. They even knocked to ask if we needed towels, toilet roll etc which I thought was a really nice touch. The restaurant is brilliant (I’d recommend the peppercorn chicken burger. It’s delicious!) The room was clean and tidy but very basic. It could do with some modernising (plug sockets next to the beds, more wardrobe space). Other than this I really couldn’t fault our stay. We had a good laugh with all the staff and were made to feel welcome! I will definitely use this hotel again soon! Thank you to the awesome staff x

Never again. Had to change rooms as so smelly! So basic. Stayed in better hostels! Stayed many years ago and don’t think has been updated since! Wish I’d gotten the train home.

Not a pleasant experience, sink dirty with old toothpaste around the tap and sink Bedsides still dirty from previous guest with drink stains Carpets don’t look like they’ve been cleaned in a long time Heating doesn’t work properly. Paid for 1 night half board and was told at check in it’s only bed n breakfast. Feels like it’s run by an inexperienced team who frankly don’t care as looking over past reviews I can see almost exact same poor reviews with no changes Would avoid this place

A lot of people are giving this hotel a bad review. I don't know why. We were a party of 4 and stayed one night as three of our party had a concert at the OVO. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and warm. We had three rooms and managed to get them all together. George, the receptionist was very nice and professional, although he did have a mix up with our names but was quickly resolved. Can't comment on the showers as we didn't use them. Thought I would be kept awake as my room was on the busy road, but once the window was shut, it was very quiet. Other staff members were really nice and friendly also. Had two drinks at the bar and the barmaid even took a photo of us all. I found all the staff members to be polite, and professional. Check in can be a bit of a wait if it's busy, but didn't bother us. If you do want a drink at the bar, it's card payment only and this applies throughout the hotel. Had a great night's sleep also. My toilet seat was a little shaky. Can't comment on breakfast as we didn't have any. But overall, a pleasant stay, and was happy at the price. Very convenient for the OVO too. And you get free WiFi. Would definitely recommend and should be more than 3 stars and would definitely stay here again.🙂

I had a generally comfortable stay at this hotel and would consider returning with my family. The private bathroom was fully integrated into the shower space, and the room had a double bed and a single bed close. The lovely curtains added a pleasant touch, and the mattresses and pillows were comfortable. The staff were kind and friendly, and the hotel's location close to the city centre made it convenient. The bus stop and train station were just a 5-minute walk away. However, the room itself was tiny, which was a drawback. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with some limitations.

We stayed here for 2 nights in early June, the weather was so hot and our 1st room had no working air conditioning and the window wouldn't open. We let reception know and within an hour, they'd moved us to a cooler room. The staff were lovely, do friendly, they couldn't do enough for you. They even gave us a free breakfast to say sorry about the room. The rooms are a bit dusty and tired-looking, but clean other than that. We had no duvet on the double bed, but there was one on the smaller bed so we used that..it was too hot for a big thick duvet anyway! Breakfast was OK, although they ran out of a few options, snd we didn't even get down there late. But it was free, so we didn't mind, but we didn't eat there the next morning. Great location, not too far from tourist attractions like the Tall Ship Glenlee, not too far from the city centre, right next to concert halls, places to eat nearby, car parking on site. Would happily stay here again.

Great value for money. Comfy bed and nice linens, soft big towels. Needs a revamp of fixtures and fittings. Good breakfast. Friendly staff on reception and in the dining room. Slept very well which was very much needed.

  • 2/5 Marcus P. 10 months ago on Google
Started off with a very slow check in even I was the only person at reception the girl didn't look like she knew what she was doing, room was adequate at best, pillows were soft but the mattress felt like you were sleeping on a brick, went to have a shower in the morning but it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, there was a hole in the wall and a broken tile on the floor filled with something black, came down for breakfast hot food was lukewarm at best, none of the staff look like they want to be here, their "uniform" more looks like cheesey movie prison outfits! , overall the building needs a lot of love and attention on the inside

I am at this establishment on a tour. The day before our supposed stay, the tour manager called to confirm rooms and were confirmed. The day of, this establishment informed the tour manager that there were not enough rooms for everyone on the tour, despite these rooms being reserved since March/April latest. Despite these room issues, we still had our reservations for dinner. When we came for dinner, the staff looked shocked to see us, even though we had a reservation. Before coming to the hotel for dinner, we picked the food items we wanted (we were given a menu to choose from), upon arriving for dinner and waiting 30 mins for a water glass we had a buffet of obvious instant foods; rice, mixed veggies, mashed potatoes, and pasta. None of the choices that were in our buffet were not on the menu we were previously given and each of poor/cheap quality. Our minimal staff that served us were friendly, not fast but friendly. This is a representation primarily of the management: there was a reservation for a large group for dinner as well as rooms and none of these basic responsibilities were met. I cannot rate the rooms, as I am currently still in the restaurant fuming.

Awful. Bathroom walls and floor covered in mould (see pictures). I didn’t shower because, given the mould, I didn’t have any confidence that bathroom had been cleaned. Internal lock on bedroom door broken. Sheets not large enough to cover the mattress (see pictures). No hand towels. Cleaning staff arguing in the halls. A tray covered in broken lampshades left in the elevator lobby. Front-of-house staff more interested in chatting to each other than helping guests. In 20 years of traveling for work this is hands down one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in.

Overall a good place to stay. The rooms are what you pay for really, average hotel room that’s clean and tidy. The food was nice and reasonably priced for the location. Came here with my wife to see a concert at the hydro, which is only a brief walk across the road. The only problem we had was after being in the room around half an hour, housekeeping tried to barge in despite the door being latched interrupting my wife getting ready for the concert. Then after we came back from the concert we found the do not disturb sign lying on the floor inside the room (we left it outside on the door handle while we were away). I get housekeeping needs access and whatever but surely everything was done before check in and they had paid us a visit before we left as well. Not comfortable at all with the fact that someone was in our room while we were out at the concert.

I felt unsafe, I had to put my bin behind my door incase anyone came in as the door lock did not work. Then I had to stuff paper towel through the space where the peep hole should be on the door since all it was was a hole. There were no lenses in it. It looked grubby, from the net at the window to the up high kettle I couldn't reach. Couldn't wait to leave.

It's very close to sec. There is a parking lot next to it. The breakfast is very good, including coffee juice, some beans and sausages, and the staff's attitude is also very good. However, the cleanliness of the room was very poor, with stains on the bed and holes in the tiles on the bathroom floor. By the way, it’s great that you can store your luggage! The room facing the river has a good view. You can see the sunshine outside and the people on the road, which makes it very comfortable.

Staff is super nice and if you’re going to the Hydro it’s the perfect location and reasonable. Within walking distance to Riverside Museum which was fantastic. Rooms are very small especially if your a couple with 2 suitcases, no phone in room, breakfast not included except on 1st night and very limited with a few “continental” items and 1 hot choice. They called it full English (?) but it was different every day. Probably ok for 1 night stay but for more nights spend a little more.

  • 5/5 Jackie F. 4 months ago on Google
Basic rooms. Carpets could be doing with a steam clean. They are pet friendly which is great, however there is not an allocated area for them to go. As for the location. Could not get any better if you are going to the hydro for a night out.

Stayed the night with my husband on Saturday 02/12/23 . The room was so run down and bathroom was disgusting mould and dirt everywhere and stunk . Aircon vent was filthy. We never showered until we got home. . The bed dipped in the middle we hardly slept . Walls all marked Paid for breakfast eggs were white , square sausage you actually could have taken someone out with it as it was so over cooked . Bacon was just as bad so we had a cup of tea and ate nothing . No one was interested in our complaints. Very young staff and uninterested in their guests . Great location but really run down dirty hotel . Never again and would never recommend to anyone.

Stayed here 3/12/22 good location for hydro room was clean but small for the price bed light not working , notified reception, bulb was never replaced. Breakfast was a shambles at 9.45 big queue no sausages left had to wait on more bacon being cooked scrambled egg was like warm 1 crausant left , won't be staying here again willing to pay extra for the Premier Inn across the water.

Reasonably priced hotel rooms, which were clean, and a decent standard. Just watch the parking, as most of the car park belongs to another hotel. You need to register your car at reception, so they can confirm if you're in the correct area.

Beautifully spacious hotel, great fast speed wifi, study area and complimentary drinks and sufficient parking. Very close to the high street to access some great coffee shops nearby, supermarkets and a walk or run in the surrounding routes and bridge.

I stay here with my kid. And I have to give a 3 stars. I was very happy with the young lady day time at the front staff. She was politely and helpful. Without her I will leave 2 stars..this because…as Unfortunately morning breakfast lady was rude and she checked our room and said we have to pay for breakfasts and I agreed. But she won’t let us in till we pay first! I said can we eat and pay when we check out. She won’t accept it. It is just not friendly at all. And how I going to run away! You have all my details!! Sadly won’t be back…

Room 122 was away from traffic so good sleep. As we were a room 3 not fully setup for 3. Bathroom/wet room could do with a bit TLC. Good parking available, ideal location for west end and for gigs at swg3 & hydro areas

I don’t like this place. All staff polite except one guy who works at night. Also, be careful about car parking as getting notice for the car parking even though they say it’s free parking. They said, rooms are cleaned on daily basis but it is again a lie and room not cleaned properly . They just used same pillow covers, same quilt but they just dust it off

If I'm honest? I wasn't expecting very much, but this hotel surpassed our expectations. Smooth booking transaction, slick check in and good sized clean room. Great location for gigs, about half hour walk from Bellahouston Park where we were going for the recent Green Day gig. I usually am always disappointed with hotel breakfasts but our buffet style full English was delicious and most importantly, it was hot. There was a small selection of pancakes, cheeses, yoghurts and muffins as well as cereals too. I can honestly say the breakfast was better than a breakfast we recently had in a HIGH END hotel in my home town of Newcastle. We will return if we ever come to Glasgow.

Absoulte chaos at check in. Hours after officially being able to check in the receptionist were taking a list due to the number of people waiting. The receptionist couldn't focus on check in due to the number of questions from guests. The receptionist were getting treated so unfairly by guests due to their frustration. Where were the management hiding in their office providing no support. Rooms were being cancelled due to overbooking. It was awful and it was equally awful witnessing how the receptionist were being treated by customers and their managers who provided no assistance.

We booked because we are going to a concert at the Hydro in December. WE HAVE NOT STAYED HERE YET. Having read the reviews I'm cancelling my booking as we were going to park our car at the hotel and walk across to the SEC. That and a review advising of mice in the bar and dirty bathrooms was enough to put me off. I know I should have read these reviews before I booked, maybe the management will change things if they know prospective customers decide not to stay after all....

Basic room but comfy. Shower room a bit tired....loose tap, loose shower head. Friendly helpful staff but disappointed restaurant not open even though ther is a big RESTAURANT sign on the side of the building. Perfect place for concerts etc.

  • 1/5 James L. 1 year ago on Google
Very very poor. Arrived at 16.00 check in meant to be available from 14.00, had to wait in the bar for nearly an hour as the room not ready. The room was dirty, shower and sink basin also didn't drain properly. Told the restaurant closed for the evening (on a Saturday night🤷‍♂️) and the breakfast food was absolutely terrible ended up just having a coffee and going to another venue in the town for breakfast. We were only staying for 1 night if it had been longer than this I would have wanted a refund and went somewhere else. 1st and last night staying here would give 0 stars if I could, worst place Iv ever stayed 👎👎👎

Initially given a double bed instead of twin . Once reported, we were immediately allocated another room ( well done ), however, towels missing in new room ( again once reported, sorted out immediately ). Comfortable room and beds . Friendly reception. Nice continental buffet breakfast - plenty of variety

  • 1/5 Shelby B. 1 year ago on Google
Awful stay. We waited for 30 minutes to get checked in and we arrived at 3pm when check in was for 2pm. They said we would have to wait longer for the room we booked (double bed and a single) but we couldn't wait any longer as we had plans so had to opt for a room with two singles. The room itself was dirty, we had a door leading to another room which people were in and it could be unlocked and opened! Our main doors lock didn't work on our side either and the bathroom door didn't lock! We asked the receptionist to check the doors in our room to secure them and they didn't even bother given the safety concern we had.The plugs didn't work and the ones that did took an age to charge your phone (my phone was on charge for 9 hours over night and only reached 70%) this was not an issue with my charger or phone! Overall would rate this minus 0 stars, definitely not worth £71 a night.

Avoid at all costs. This should not be a three-star hotel. I stayed in several hotels, and this was among the worst. Everything was dirty and smelled bad. The towels, the bathroom, the room, bed sheets, pillows, and carpets were so smelly. They did not clean the carpets in the rooms for a long time. Even the textures on the carpets disappeared because it is so dirty. Their heaters are so bad and old. I had to handle the cold temperature inside the room during winter time. Other customers wrote several negative comments about how unclean this hotel is. Still, no improvements. All they (the hotel management team) do with negative reviews is apologize and justify with no actions or improvement. I recommend everyone not to stay in this hotel. Also, I strongly suggest a better management team for this hotel. Problems with housekeeping, cleanliness and more negative customer reviews are indicators of bad hotel management. YOU MUST TAKE THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS SERIOUSLY AND MAKE IMPROVEMENTS

Campanile Glasgow hotel is a simple work of arts, it's about 15 minutes from the City centre and in a quiet and serene environment. The staffs are courteous and helpful and the rooms are really nice. They have a wonderful breakfast and I really look forward to going back there, there is an ample parking space so no need to worry about where to park.

  • 2/5 Paul R. 10 months ago on Google
Not able to park on the first night, I appreciate that parking isn't guaranteed, but lots of parking spaces were taken up by non residents who were at a show over the road and nothing was done about it . No breakfast available first morning as the chef didn't turn up . Told the next morning that breakfast was available as normal . There was hardly anything available in the cold buffet. Order was taken for a cooked breakfast but when it arrived , bacon was missing ( as they had run out ) and a piece of black pudding stuck on the plate instead , everything badly cooked , teaspoon of mushrooms. The chef was obviously still off and someone else trying to cook . So not worth 10.25 . Wasn't asked how our stay was on checkout as she either knew it wasn't good or didn't care

Fantastic hotel. My disabled granddaughter and I stayed last night after the Donny Osmond concert. We got early check in and both the hotel staff and the restaurant catered for our needs. My granddaughter is coeliac and we're so brilliant with her cooking her bacon the way she likes it because she is prone to choking and gave her everything she needed. Well done to all. Will definitely stay again xx

Location for concert was great. Room was booked on my behalf by my mum who phoned the hotel to add breakfast to our booking. The manager said he added a complimentary breakfast that would be available for our stay. However, upon going for breakfast I found out that there was no record of breakfast being added. I had to pay for it myself to which my mum later contacted the hotel and was promised that I would be reimbursed, however a month later and I still have no received the money.
