Lovely hotel. Stayed a few times here. Rooms lovely but some of the furniture is a bit tired now. Restaurant is really nice, food was great. Executive lounge was nice but disappointed no Rose wine available. Breakfast was really nice. Definitely come back again.

Fantastic hotel. The central location can’t be beat- very close to both train stations, restaurants, pubs, shopping and nightlife. The staff is wonderful- friendly, attentive, and helpful. Most notably, Patrick at the front desk, was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and clean- the complimentary mini bar and decanted spirits were a huge perk. We will be back.

Clean, friendly staff. Ideal location. Room felt dull as window faced other hotel rooms. Personal choice, I like to be able to open a window for fresh air but this was not possible like most hotels now. Very warm and felt oppressive in the heat. Floor lamp not working. Didn't sample breakfast or meals so can't comment on the food. Complimentary bar was a nice touch. Used the water only. I would stay again if I had a better room.

We had afternoon tea today in Windows restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday and were delighted with how attentive the staff were -- particularly Patricia -- and the food was delicious. Very fresh sandwiches, warm scones and loads of lovely cakes. To top it all my wife was given a platter with chocolate cake and happy birthday message written in chocolate - a very nice touch.Would highly recommend.

Very centrally located hotel in Glasgow. We were in close proximity to shipping, dining and museums and the cathedral and necropolis. The rooms are a little tired, and need a refresh. The complimentary mini bar and snacks were welcome, but the club room was not a great resource as we always seemed to find that the food was finished. Staff were all so helpful and friendly. We felt very welcome and well taken care of.

The most central hotel in Glasgow. Walking distance to many of the best bars and restaurants in the West of Scotland. Lovely spacious rooms, free mini bar. The only thing missing was somewhere to charge phone etc . There were power points at the desk area but far from the bed. I would definitely come back here again.

Nice rooms in a great location. I found the red decor in the bedroom a bit overwhelming, but everything else was good. Pretty bathroom with nice products and good safety features. I even enjoyed a bath there. I also enjoyed the look of the crystal glasses and decanters. A free mini bar was appreciated. But beware consumables such as coffee and biscuits were not replaced on my second day. Staff were friendly. The rooftop restaurant was good with slightly inefficient service (an order was misheard, and a coffee order was forgotten.

What a lovely hotel right in the city centre. Had a lovely 4 night weekend stay. Breakfast was superb and view from restaurant was amazing. The real attraction of the Hotel are the very friendly and genuine staff across all areas. They really elevate Scottish hospitality to its highest level in a very understated and nuanced way. Can't wait to come back

Rooms felt quite cramped for a 1 night stay. Great location right next to Queen Street train station. Executive lounge is poorly stocked and a bit on the grubby side. Food is so so but not expecting the most amazing things. No parking available on site but discounted to Β£15 in the Buchanan Gallaries parking. Overall fine for a 1 night stay.

Lovely hotel right by Buchanan Street. We had a room with a balcony which was great for watching the world go by whilst enjoying our drinks from the free mini bar. We also had access to the lounge which was a nice place for drinks too (also included in the price). Room comfortable and quiet. The roof top restaurant has great views. Breakfast was brilliant.

Excellent location close to Queen Street Station and George Square and Subway. Rooms and bathroom are clean and comfortable. Mini bar is very nice, which included a dram of whisky, gin or vodka.

The location was perfect - felt right in the middle of everything we wanted to see. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, had some fun recommendations. Didn't spend a ton of time in the room - but it was clean, and we had no issues.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Our room was big and comfortable. We upgraded to include lounge access, and this was worth every penny - we arrived early on our first day, so we were able to use the lounge while waiting to check in. There were plenty of complimentary snacks and drinks available in the lounge. The location was ideal for us - the hotel is very central in Glasgow and right by one of the subway stops. We were travelling by train, and it is 10 mins walk from Glasgow Central Station, and about a minute away from Queen Street Station.

Just wonderful! Really comfortable hotel, nicely designed- stylish, welcoming, and traditional. Lovely welcoming staff. Really impressed with the extra touches that this room came with too. Quick visit so we only stayed for one night but will make a note to come back if I ever return to the area .

Great location. The hotel entrance was beautiful with an open fire in the lobby. Service was friendly . Rooms need a bit of an update but good prices as included in a fully stocked mini bar. The pub next door connects to the hotel and looks like it belongs on the harry potter set.

Stayed here last week for a mini break with my better half. Absolutely wonderful place bang in the middle of the city center. Staff were very pleasant and informative and rooms were huge compared to some with the whole mini bar as complimentary which was explained to you clearly on arrival. Spotlessly clean and lovely decor. Definitely be staying again. Waxy OConners is next door win win. Just read some of the other reviews, whilst leaving mine and feel like saying get a grip to these hard to please people, my room was not dated nor in need of refurbishment, it was lovely, massive bed and huge amounts of room. Moaning about a complimentary mini bar, you must be a bundle of laughs. If you aren’t happy with the price of something, don’t pay it and take yourself to the Premier Inn along the road, equally nice in a different way, I have stayed there on numerous occasions, staff are great too. Well done Carlton George β€œwe” really enjoyed our stay. Don’t change as I’ve told all my friends about you.

Great location with lovely staff. Rooms are comfortable but feel a bit dated. Decor is a bit odd and I personally didn’t like the styling but that just a personal view. What really let it down for me was the lack of cleanliness. The bath had hairs in it and around the rim and the sink wouldn’t drain. When I unscrewed the pop up plug to see why, it was so full of black sludge you couldn’t see down the drain hole. Clearly this hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. It’s a shame really because the hotel is actually ok, but cleanliness is a must.

Great wee hotel. Location is spot on. We were in a quiet room which it was. Only issue I had was even with air con on, it was still absolutely roasting and unable to open window. Other than that it was fab. Bed so comfy. Very traditional decor.

Great value. Staff very pleasant and helpful. We came from Queen St station so just a 3 minute walk to hotel. Food was good, surprisingly so for a hotel restaurant.

Review of Carlton George Hotel Pending reviewvia mobile Chose this hotel because close to railway station. Great location also in centre of town great view at breakfast in restaurant which had one lady serving the tables. She was electric nothing a problem she made breakfast service look easy. Great choice also. Our room was quiet and comfortable window facing a pedestrian side street. Bed very comfy. Two pillows one thankfully slim enough for my needs. We had lounge access which was great it had an ice machine so I visited a few times on our one night stay. Check in was super quick and was able to get a late check out. Highly recommend this hotel the extras make it, the efficient staff and the location.

An amazing downtown hotel to stay in Glasgow. It’s a pretty old property however well maintained. The hotel staff are so sweet and welcoming. Right next to the underground you can access anywhere in the city from here. Lot of shopping options near by and yes a perfect tourist stay. With a lot of eateries near by this is a complete value for the money. I loved the bar cabinet and they had a premium whisky vodka gin and wine free for you. Since we checked out early they packed breakfast for us which was compact and filling. I will definitely visit and stay here again.

Perfect location and I believe the bus from the airport to the hotel drops you off right out front. Taxi service from Glasgow, with tip is GBP30. Take the bus. Hella lot cheaper! Room, service & breakfast was beautiful! The complimentary mini bar needs a little primping, but can you really complain about free? It could have used still water and non diet drinks, but whatever. I relaxed with the gin and vodka and purchased soda and juice from a store nearby. The restaurant upstairs for breakfast gives a stunning view of the city! Definitely would go here again.

Very helpful staff. Visited for afternoon tea. Shown to seats and served coffee swiftly followed by three tiers of sandwiches, scones and cakes. A good variety of cake altho walnut cake dry but everything else very good. A nice place to drop in for a bite to eat or a drink. Will visit again. Staff very pleasant. Top marks

5 stars is for the afternoon tea, the staff and service. My friend and I went for afternoon tea. The selection of sandwiches were lovely. The array of cakes and scones were very nice. The tea was served from a warm thermos pot which meant the tea was warm all the time. I find the tea gets cold in a traditional teapot. And we had mugs rather than teacups whichbwas so much better as i love my tea. We also had a lovely view from the restaurant with the added bonus of baby seagull chick's nesting on the opposite building. Nature at its best and animals adapting to their environment. The staff were really nice and friendly. It was a lovely warm sunny day in Glasgow and its not often that happens. So we sat outside and instead of people watching, we watched the baby seagulls. My neice had previously stayed in the hotel and she thought it was fantastic and one of the nicer hotels. It is perfectly central for everything in Glasgow.

Excellent hotel that we would love to stay at again. Rooms were very clean and included a mini bar and liquor decanters. They also had a lounge that you could visit for 2.5hours for snacks and drinks. Location was fantastic and a quick walk to the restaurants and train station. The front desk staff, Asen, was very nice and gave us great suggestions of places to go during our stay.

Pleasantly surprised. After reading the reviews we were expecting the worst but the hotel is wonderful, clean, modern, ideal central location. It was our anniversary and the staff were amazing and even brought out a little surprise dessert which was very nice 😊. Thank you to all the staff in making our time here memorable (in a good way) Thank you.

To call this a 4-star hotel is an insult to 4-star MOTELS. The front desk couldn't manage two room keys for myself and my wife. The rooms were small and look more like a college dorm. Where some hotels pull off the quaint, boutique, patchwork of mismatched furniture well, this hotel does not. The room looked like it was furnished by a charity shop in the 1990s and they haven't replaced a thing since. There was about a two inch gap underneath the door, giving us easy listening to everyone walking through the door and down the stairs located a jump away from our room. Closet doors were broken and stuck. The bathroom sink was designed such that a touch too far on the faucet and the pressure bounces off the sink and soaks your clothes. The shower was such that you'd clean yourself and the floor with each attempt. The TVs were old and didn't offer access to streaming services. The toilets flushed...about 75 percent of the time. The pillows were so thin, it took three of them to resemble comfortable sleeping. The saving grace is the half way decent breakfast, which includes a buffet with fruit, yogurt, cereal, eggs, beans and meats, as well as a few a la carte options, as well as the daily stocked wine, beer, soft drinks in the mini fridge and decanters of two fingers of whiskey, gin and vodka. This might be a deal at a third the price. They've got some work to do.
