Seems to be good but never managed to eat there. Mainly due to the unpleasant and unwelcoming attitude of the manager from the booking on the phone to the greeting at the door. Empty restaurant at arrival and we had no masks to walk the 3 metres to get to the table where we are supposed to remove the mask. His attitude was unhelpful and insulting sending me to buy a mask and then come back. Walked a few metres from there and in a lovely Spanish bar were actually offered a free mask to get in and spend our money, which to be honest was less than the half I would have spent in the steak house, judging by the prices in the menu. But yeah... learn how it is done, mate! It is called HOSPITALITY!!!

Staff were great, very accommodating and moved us into an indoor seat straight away when the heavens opened. Covid guidelines were closely followed and still managed to feel warm and friendly. Food was absolutely delicious. Had wanted to try here for ages and just got round to it. My partner is vegetarian (I am not) but I would recommend this to anyone. Do Granny Smith apples go with haggis and caramelised onion? Apparently they do, very well. The chilli cheese nachos were also really tasty, with the nicest guac I've had in a while. Will definitely be back soon to try some more of the menu.

I was able to book a table on Facebook before coming to Glasgow (I'm from Spain). Went to the restaurant with my girlfriend. Ordered a burger, a sandwich, nachos and a soup, and that was just about 25£! The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were so nice and the restaurant was clean and cozy. And they were playing AC/DC! What else could I ask for? I totally recommend The Glasvegan and, if I ever come back to Glasgow, I will definitely eat there.

I’ve been a vegan for 10 years and this was the worst vegan food I’ve ever had. A small, dry, cold, bland breakfast for 12£ with a long waiting time because there was one guy serving everyone. I don’t understand the good reviews. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Had a fantastic full Scottish breakfast here with a coffee and sticky toffee pudding (for the road). Very impressed with the flavour and quality of everything on the plate. Also pretty good value for money. Recommend that vegans and non-vegans alike should try this awesome food! The staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive. Will definitely be back when I’m in Glasgow again.

such a cute little cafe in the heart of glasgow! i came here for the first time the other week and got the vegan breakfast, which was amazing. it came with haggis, black pudding, and sausages which were great to try as a vegan. the service was great though the music was a bit loud and consisted of covers that kind of ruined the vibe. nonetheless the food was great and id definitely visit again!

Such a lovely place! I ate here 3 times during my short stay in Glasgow and each experience was great. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. I ordered a black coffee and the Houmoucide signature sandwich and sat by the window watching the world go by. Highly recommend.

I was surprised of how good a vegan Scottish breakfast can be. They have everything you can imagine and very tasteful for vegans that won’t want to make a compromise. Also the iced latte with oat milk is bonkers. Highly recommended, coming here more often :)

My wife and I recently visited this vegan restaurant located in the center of Glasgow. They offer a range of delicious vegan options. We went there for breakfast, and my wife opted for the "Full Scottish Breakfast," a vegan twist on the traditional Scottish dish. It featured a variety of plant-based alternatives that were really similar to the classic components. The black pudding, in particular, stood out for its flavor and texture. I had the "Death by Chocolate" dish, which consisted of crepes in a generous amount of chocolate sauce. The service at The Glasvegan was attentive and friendly. Our server made us feel welcomed throughout our meal, adding to the overall positive experience. The restaurant's location is also worth mentioning, as it is located in a quiet corner of a shopping street. This setting allowed us to enjoy our meal away from the city's noise and commotion.

Previously gave this full 5 stars, but sadly after two new owners it's really struggling - the food is still really nice, but a very limited menu now - I've been three times since it's changed hands and had to wait and average of 45mins + for a lunch order, a wrap with crisps the soup is never ready for lunch period, It's a shame, it really had a great reputation, but has struggled with the transition to a new team. The staff are very friendly and have kindly comped our drinks a couple of times to apologies for the wait - but I don't see us coming back in a rush. Coffee is still great btw, I hope things sort themselves out.

Cozy and friendly little spot at walk distance from the station. Had a little coffee break before my train back and I had a lovely time! Their treat was one of the best things I have ever eaten. Strongly recommended! And always glad to support little independent businesses rather than chains. 💚

Blink and you might miss this little gem of a cafe/restaurant! Situated across from the exit of the Glasgow underground the food here is amazingly. Had "Not Dogs" and pancakes and I can't fault anything! A must if you are vegan!

We love this place. This was our first post covid night out. Good spacing between tables. All good on that side. But most importantly the food and wine was absolutely fabulous. We will be back. Gr8 job.

A return visit to the Butchershop Bar and Grill. On a very cold November Friday, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly waiting staff and shown to our table in the relaxed, warm and comfortable dining area. Ordered off the pre-theatre menu and so enjoyed a delicious two course lunch. The rump steak was perfectly cooked, the burger juicy and delicious. Our starters of beetroot salad and chicken liver parfait were also very tasty. Recommended!

Amazing roast and dessert. The roast consisted of delectable roast beef and veg. It was also the perfect portion size. For dessert we had the peanut butter parfait and it is one of my favorite desserts of all time. Book ahead, this place gets busy on a Sunday. Staff was incredibly friendly and efficient for how busy this place gets.

Wow. Only tried a couple of things off the menu so far and both were crazy delicious. Gangsta Granny sandwich..tremendous. Donor vebab...hoovered that down...insanely good. Quality service and portion size is spot on as well. I’ll definitely be working my way through the menu...and what a crackin menu I must say.

Tldr; Super friendly service coupled with some of the best vegan food I've had at reasonable prices. The Glasvegan is a small but cosy looking cafe, not many tables but luckily I was able to grab one, looks like it's quite popular as a takeaway. The staff were really friendly and you go up to the till to order whenever you're ready. I opted for the jacket potato with vegan haggis and the potato & leek soup which you can add onto any lunch meal for £1. With the soup at that price I was expecting it to come in a large mug or something similar, nope, got a whole bowl's worth, pretty good for £1. Taste wise, both the soup and the jacket were excellent. Some of the best home made soup I've had and the vegan haggis was surprisingly very tasty and similar texture to normal haggis. Overall, excellent food and service, would definitely recommend it to anyone, regardless of food preference. (I'm not a vegan and I thought the food was excellent)

Perfect place to grab breakfast between Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen stations, whether you're coming to or departing from the city. We grabbed a full Scottish Breakfast each - trying both varieties of sausage. Lovely, lovely stuff - food was hearty and quickly served. The vegan alternatives to haggis, black pudding and sausage were gorgeous and left me wanting more. Reasonably priced and a wonderful alternative to just grabbing a Spoons breakfast. Service was top notch, too - my suitcase lock was broken and the staff were kind enough to bring me a selection of screwdrivers to try fixing it with. Sadly didn't work but the effort didn't go unnoticed! It's a small space but it felt cosy, not claustrophobic, and felt warm and inviting - much needed when coming in from the rain! If I'm in Glasgow again I'll definitely be stopping by.

Lovely little spot next to St. Enoch's centre. Had the "Cheezus" sandwich with vegan cheese, tomato, lettuce, peppers and onion. Unfortunately the staff were fairly unattentive and took an uncomfortable amount of time to get us drinks from a fridge close by, and food was slow too. Came the next morning with my lovely girlfriend, got the full Scottish and it was exceptional! Staff were much better this morning, fast pleasant and enjoyable service. Far more attentive and weren't sitting on their phones. 5/5, despite the staff in the evening.

Fantastic food & lovely friendly staff! My brother & I had the breakfast wrap & it was delicious & really filling. I then also took home 5 of their cakes as they all looked so wonderful I couldn't choose. They were also delicious, even though they'd melted being left in the car! Amazing food for EVERYONE, my brother isn't vegan and he loved the wraps & cakes too. Oh and they also had great smoothies! So tasty I'd almost finished mine before the food came & it came quickly!

French Toast with Homemade Berry Compote and Lemon Cream Cheese with a coffee and a fresh smoothie for takeaway. I can not express enough, how impressed i am with the flavour, and alternatives of everything on this plate. Also pretty good value for money. I Recommend those visiting or those who stay in the city to experience this awesome wee cafe! The staff are super friendly, welcoming and well deserving of the Restaurant Awards they've accomplished. Will definitely be back soon without a doubt!

Nice location and atmosphere and caring service. But we may have hit a bad day because their stock was low for many items (Tesco is across the street..) full Scottish breakfast not available and the presentation of the dishes could have been improved. See photo. Probably just a bad day… No bathroom available on the premises.

The mac and cheese was delicious. There are no toilet facilities in location. So you have to go across street to mall to even wash your hands. But everything else was great.

Nice place with vegan street food. I loved the names in the menu as well 😅 I had a wrap with apple and vegan haggis (felt like buckwheat), it was delicious! Staff was very friendly and nice, suggested very good food options. The place is quite small, so I give it 4 stars for the atmosphere.

I see here quit a lot of good reviews but the pasta with cheese I ordered, was completely taste less. Had to add tomato catchup, salt and paper by myself. It looks like it was microwaved. Maybe I just had a wrong dish

One of the greatest places on earth. Over the top maybe, but as a long time dairy intolerance sufferer with a sweet tooth and a recent Vegan wannabe this place makes it easy with a vast array of tasty food. I wasnt even that hungry and I ordered LOADS of food. I wasn't disappointed. Soup awesome, smoothie fabulous, crepe superb. Very generous, very tasty. And friendly. Coffee just needs work.

Top place, highest recommendation! A big plate of nachos loaded with good stuff and a £1 lunch deal bowl of soup with garlic bread: £6.95 total. I wish every time I wanted to eat out there could be a place like this!

Could you be the perfect vegan lunch spot? I've went a few times recently and the menu has a great selection (vegan healthier options to the home comforts food) so can eat where my emotions are at that day! Very reasonable prices... My only complaint is that I'v e stuffed my face too much but can't blame Glasvegan for that!

Set in a prime location, and with all the best ideas, this cafe could become a vegan mainstay for a quick lunch or city centre breakfast.... but right now it has a long way to go. The setting is great, with a clean and attractive interior, however the service was rather inconsistent and the approach to each customer rather random also. The wrap I had chosen was under filled and under toasted, with a clear inconsistency between my own wrap and the customers’ either side of me, being prepared just before and after. Pricing is good and outdoor seating a real bonus. A good choice if passing, but if planning a lunch, I would look at the more established Vegan eateries for now.

It was my first time in Glasgow, on a budget vacation through Europe so I was very happy when I found this restaurant cuz not only have delicious dishes but the prices are very affordable if you are on a budget (like me) plus the place is TOTALLY eco-friendly ? So far I think I was attended by 3 different ladies and all of them were very nice. On my last day in the city the lady that was attending was beyond helpful and friendly with me (I might have lost my bus if it wasn't because of her help). Summering, the place it's very nice, warm with yummy affordable vegan food and kind staff. Definitely coming back there if I visit Glasgow again.

The staff were super friendly and the Oreo brownie is probably one of the best vegan brownies I've ever had. The vebab meat and the not-dog "meat" were really tasty but there wasn't a lot of it for the price. The toppings were less flavourful and the cheese on the not-dog was so overpowering (I had to scrape most of it off to actually enjoy it). Would have loved some sides like fries or a side salad included with the price. Overall, I'd go again to get the Oreo brownie and a cup of coffee but I probably wouldn't eat there again.

We visited here recently for supper, had lovely hot and homely cups of tea and coffee. Unfortunately due to busyness our food order got lost, however, the caring staff quickly rectified this once they found out and offered complementary cake to make up for the mistake. Stenaline day trip to Glasgow, and fairly recent decision to cut out/down on meat, this seemed like an obvious and ideal place for lunch. It did not disappoint! Small place with a few seats, but very busy!! Both sit ins and takeaway. Friendly staff with big smiles. Huge selection on the menu so my mind boggled for a while. Clever play on wording on their menu. We finally opted for the Christmas sandwich special (omg!!!) on focaccia and the doner vebab wrap (mmmm). Offer currently on is a bowl of soup (lentil) for £1 with anything ordered from the menu. Which we obviously ordered too lol The food was fresh, very tasty, full of flavour and very filling. Total cost was less than £15 for us both. Very reasonable. Would highly recommend ?

This was my birthday lunch, had found it on Google the night before and after somewhere else was closed were got very lucky to end up here after a walk through the perfect. Picking from the set lunch menu with the steak fries supplement and we choose very well. What an amazing steak. Cooked perfectly. The garlic butter on top was perfect. Mopped up by the chips. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert and a great view. Can't ask for more.

If you like your steak then your in for a treat! Staff were lovely from the moment we walked in the door professional, knowledgable, friendly and attentive, impeccable service. That aside the main point, the food! It’s obvious they cut no corners. From the starters that were perfectly portioned for what was to come. Every steak my party ordered was done to perfection but not just that it was the quality of the meat. Would love to know where they get that from. Sides were delicious and complemented the meat perfectly. Dessert, if you have room, was lovely crème brûlée was just right as a finale. If your thinking about eating here do yourself a favour and do it. Wouldn’t have a steak in Glasgow elsewhere.

I was tempted by the set menu but then decided to go for the 35 day dry ages cote de boufe. It was very delicious. It's not exactly cheap but it was a very nice cut of beef. I enjoyed chewing the meat off the bone. The bread was served warm and was very good. I ate too much and it made me feel very full at the end.

Great food and cocktails. Though the food temperature needs better timing when serving.

  • 5/5 Nik H. 3 years ago on Google
The bread for the table was okay. It had to be cut by yourself and was very crusty which made a bit of a mess. It should've come with a bit more butter, but really we could have asked for more. Probably the best steak I've ever had (Chateaubriand) and also had an excellent Scotch egg made with black pudding to start which I would absolutely recommend. Overall the meal wasn't cheap (including wine), but the quality more than made up for the price.

Great steaks and generous enough portions. We visited during EOTHO on a Tuesday lunch so was busy. We overheard a few people who had the wrong steaks brought out but no complaints from the food and service we had! I would only say that the warm loaf should come out sliced. Resulted in crumbs all over the table but not work taking a star away for that.

Probably my favorit vegan restaurant so far and I am not even vegan nor vegetarian :) Everything was really tasty and the staff nice and polite. It is very small though so book a table before going. I will definitely go back!

Ordered the avo toast with smoked carrot, capers and dill. Food was served promptly. The toast had a thick crunchy crust and was good in itself, the topping was flavoursome, the combination worked well and it surpassed my expectation! The coffee was average! Prices very reasonable in today's market in a prime location. Staff were friendly and helpful. I'll definitely return soon.. Sooner than I thought, in fact. Went back the next morning. Got the full Scottish. Waited about 15 mins for it to arrive. **Best breakfast I've ever been served!** Everything cooked perfectly.. even the tattie scone! Everything hot! Everything full of flavour! The toast was amazing! Even the beans were top drawer lol, home made I think. Can't wait to return..

Quirky little cafe/restaurant with a big menu. Full Scottish Breakfast is a feast - it includes vegan black pudding! Pancakes with 'bacon' and maple are also a treat! So good we came back the next day.

  • 5/5 Rebecca M. 2 years ago on Google
I am slowly trying to transition to a vegan diet and I found the food here to be super tasty. I ordered the Mac and cheese with bacon and my friend ordered the full Scottish. I also ordered the rainbow milkshake which tasted like skittles. I would definitely recommend!

  • 5/5 David S. 2 years ago on Google
The food in this little cafe is absolutely to die for! The breakfast includes vegan Black pudding and lorne sausage that will absolutely blow your mind and taste exactly like the meat versions. Had the mac n cheese this time which was absolutely beautiful too! My favourite cafe in Glasgow.

Lovely place and vegan food not too expensive. The staff is also super nice. I had some vegan nachos with haggis and it was amazing. Very filling and their vegan cheese is so good! Recommend 100%

  • 5/5 Sara M. 2 years ago on Google
On a short break in Glasgow we made sure we visited this entirely vegan cafe. Such a treat to be able to choose anything on the menu and such a vast choice of burgers, wraps, sandwiches and hotdogs or notdogs! The staff were very friendly and the food was so delicious. Highly recommended for tasty vegan ‘junk’ food and amazing breakfasts. Support small vegan ethical businesses.

Just arrived in Glasgow with a friend who has a very restrictive diet. I found glasvegan. They have a complete vegan gluten free menu and then their traditional vegan menu. Ordered the mac and cheese and lentil soup and baked potato with mushrooms and cheese. It was all so so so good ! The pricing is very inexpensive too. I'm here for 9 days and I plan on taking the subway into the city everyday cause our hotel has no kitchen .

  • 5/5 Deborah P. 1 year ago on Google
I'm not vegan but went there because a friend recommended it. The place is really small but luckily wasn't busy, so I had no problem finding a seat. The food was good (sandwich with haggis, cheese, onions - a bit dry - and a soup - could use some spices) and the staff was friendly. I didn't have to wait long and would have tried a cake as well because they looked delicious but was too full 😅

Great little 100% vegan cafe. Great food with huge portions (the nachos were enough for two). Friendly staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

I’ve gone here a couple times and both times the food has been delicious! And same with the coffee. It is a little small so finding a table can be difficult, but definitely worth it!!

The meal and the customer service were both great! I had the mac & cheez and the raw cookies & cream cake which were both so good, plus the overall atmosphere was really friendly and chill. Just what I needed to break up my journey home 😊 I will definitely be coming back when I am next in the area!

Small vegan comfort food cafe with indoor and outdoor seating in Merchant City above St Enoch subway station. I ordered a takeaway vegan haggis wrap which was absolutely delicious. Going back tomorrow for more of the same as well at try another menu item.
