We went for afternoon tea for our wedding anniversary. We booked online, which was easy to do. The service was all very swift and efficient. The loose leaf breakfast tea was delicious and there was plenty of it. We had a vegetarian afternoon tea and the variety of sandwiches was really nice. We had the lemon meringue pie and carrot cake as our choice of cake with the tea and both were delicious. Will definitely come again.

Service is slow/lack luster and not cognizant. Who puts the tea filter below the holder straight onto the table?? That’s just unsanitary. The service is only fast in delivery once items are ordered. Tea is ok at best. The sandwiches are really good so they’re actually the star of the tea. The scones are baked decently but the clotted cream leaves something to be desired. The desserts/cakes aren’t that great either. Overall a cute spot but just not good. Also the fact they call upstairs a “Chinese tea room” shows not a single one of them has ever been to a Chinese tea house or really even examined Chinese interiors… The ignorance there is ridiculous.

We booked afternoon tea on a Sunday just before lunchtime, it was very busy so would recommend booking if you're planning to drop in on a weekend. We had the traditional and savoury afternoon tea, and they were delicious, fresh and a great value for money. The atmosphere was great, we had one of the window bench tables and the service was quick and pleasant. Recommend visiting as they do all day afternoon tea which you can't find in many places, the strawberry tart was also delicious and you can pick a cake as part of the traditional tea, the savoury comes with a selection of coronation chicken puff pastry, haggis cracker, sausage roll slice and mini quiche.

I headed to the Buchanan Street Tea Room for an early breakfast. Incredibly friendly service, a stunning setting and a tasting vegetarian breakfast to get the day started. The veggie haggis was super as was the potato scone. And excellent value.

Delicious breakfast! Full Scottish and fresh tea for £10. Most places I looked at were a bit more and did not include tea so this was a great deal. The food was cooked well and tasted excellent and the tea was oh so satisfying. I'll have to come back and sample more of the menu. It gets quite busy so a reservation is a good idea, though I was lucky and came before the rush so was seated immediately without one. Good place to bring the parents/family.

This was an amazing and unique experience to see the famous architect Macintosh ‘s work in real life and have a dinning experience as well. The tea was Sooooo… good. You got to get cloud nine!! This was really well done and vary infinitive. I love how one can see Macintosh’s wonderful influences in the modern design movement and I think everyone should experience this!! What a cool piece of history.

Arrived and seated very quickly, loved the Renée Mackintosh styled chairs. It took a long time for our orders to be taken, our food to be served and for our bill to be given to us. During our stay, two of the waitresses were very rude towards us but spoke politely to others around us. The man who took our order was very polite and the food was delicious. When asking for anything from those who were serving, we were polite and so would expect the same in return but did not receive it.

Great bargain! The Savoury Afternoon tea is really good: the cheese scone and savoury treats are really tasty! The traditional Afternoon tea is really nice too and quite plentiful even though the sweet scone was a little stale to my taste! Sorry I don’t want to be mean or anything but that’s how I felt it! The service was really great though and the waitresses were lovely and welcoming! Highly recommended!

A bit of an underwhelming experience, given the hype and the 5-star reviews. The booking and front desk service were great, but the wait staff seemed rushed and not very knowledgeable. We were told that the cheesecake of the day was salted caramel, but a strawberry one showed up instead. It was also very weird that only the afternoon tea came had scones served with clotted cream, while the scones ordered separately came with either butter or whipped cream - which is not normal at all... I've never seen whipped cream served with scones! It's almost as if they wanted to cut corners and save money by not offering clotted cream outside of the afternoon tea, and serve cheaper whipped cream instead. On the positive side, the goat cheese salad was excellent and the sandwiches were quite okay. The plain scones, sadly, were dry and not served warm. The tea was okay (we tried two different varieties - the Scottish breakfast and the Assam Darjeeling blend), but nothing to write home about. Coffee was average, unremarkable. All in all, it was a bit of a disappointing experience and we've definitely had significantly better afternoon teas and scones elsewhere in the UK. I think this place may have fallen victim to being featured/advertised on the tour buses and travel blogs, and the hype surrounding the history. Maybe it used to be great, but it seems like they need to revisit their offering now.

This is the first time I visit Glasgow and I decided to try the afternoon tea. Google showed this place as highly rated and it wasn't wrong choice. The place is a little bit small but great, the staff are active and quick in their service . The afternoon tea was a delicious experience for me and it won't be last for sure.

We initially went to another tea room but unfortunately, there was a power cut and we were frustrated over where we could go as we were looking forward to a nice afternoon tea, they then made some calls and we went to The Willow Tea Rooms which was lovely, it was nice and fresh but it did feel slightly overcrowded. The food was lovely and we had a good time here.

Great choice for a traditional Scottish breakfast at a very traditional place. 100% recommend. For food and the experience. Better book in advance. Very friendly staff. Reasonable prices and good portions.

Little café on the first floor right at Buchanan Street. Usual coffees/teas available, brunch/lunch options and high tea. Cakes & shortbread available as well. Reservation probably recommended for weekends. Staff very friendly. Only minus for me was that the interior wasn’t as cosy as I had expected for a tea room but that is personal preference.

The Champagne Afternoon tea served as a special birthday treat for my Mum, and ensuring she had a delightful time was my top priority. I'm thrilled to say that she thoroughly enjoyed it. Despite the bustling and well-loved location in the heart of the city, catering to both tourists and locals, we never felt hurried to leave. The sandwiches were simple but delightful, and the kind server (whose name slipped my mind) accommodated a small change for my Mum, who isn't fond of smoked salmon. The scones were freshly baked, the homemade jam was a nice touch, and the Lemon Meringue and Cheesecake were fantastic. The attentive staff made sure every part of our experience at the Willow Tea Room was a friendly one. From walking in the busy reception to being seated practically straight away for our reservation. The girls who served us and the other staff members we came across were so friendly, a true testament to the Willow Tea Rooms & they deserve a raise. Overall, it was a perfect 10/10 experience.

Had a fabulous breakfast here. Scones after also, the raspberry jam is TO DIE FOR! Just gorgeous surroundings and nipped upstairs to the Chinese Tea Room, exquisite 👌

A lovely place to enjoy afternoon tea. Prefixe high tea is £15per person and includes finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, a cookie and a slice of cake per person. The hostess was very attentive and was able to accommodate our seating request. Our wait staff person was so sweet, patient and knowledgeable on all menu items we had questions about. They also have higher priced high teas. Reservations highly recommended, though they will take walk ins if tables are available. Stairs only, no lifts.
