The place is very much in the heart of Glasgow but finding the location on google is a real googly for it goes over the head. They are now in collaboration with Novotel which is bang on the road whereas Ibis is in the side lane and out of sight. Therefore the location confuses one especially for us since our flight was late and we reached past midnight with no one in sight on the deserted streets to guide us. The staff is extremely polite with Ross at the reception who is a great help and deals with one's problems with genuine concern coming up with solutions for everything. The breakfast is amazing with great Continental choices as well as others also. Prices for the stay- Affordable Ambience- Good Service- Excellent. Location- Perfect.

The Ibis was a lovely unpretentious hotel. Nothing fancy dancy but everything you needed. The breakfast was good, possibly could do with a few more varieties, my wife asked for poached eggs but couldn't get them, but that's a minor quibble. The rooms were well maintained and very clean. The bed was very comfortable, too comfortable after a heavy night , to get out of. Most if all , the staff were wonderful. Nothing was too much for them. Really good. Special mentions to Julia Maria ,Roberto and Lauren. All from Spain. But they were all great. The location is a little bit out of the way but not too much tbh. All in all , for the cost we thoroughly recommend the Ibis Glasgow City Centre.

I really enjoyed this hotel. The team were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice, although it was quite busy. The room was great - modern and comfy. I loved the quirky efforts the hotel has made - see my pics - which really added to the experience.

We stay in flats for two weeks at a time as a pipe band. Normally we would stay in student accommodations but this year we changed and I am not disappointed. The rooms are spacious enough, the bathrooms are nice and roomy, (I can play my bagpipes in there without too much difficulty) and there are many perks that student flats don't have like daily cleaning services and TVs in each room. I would say the only thing lacking is a small refrigerator for left overs or a few drinks and a microwave to be made available in the hotel.

Firstly let me say that the experience at reception was one of the best I have had, in my forty years of travelling as an adult. I didn't get the young ladies name but I think she may have been Italian, judging by her accent. She was smiling, friendly, polite, engaged, interested, professional and was extremely helpful. Due to travelling from one of the Scottish Islands, we had arrived a little early and were expecting to have to leave our luggage and return later for check in. She checked to see if our accessible room was available and ready for us and fortunately it was, so she checked us in straight away. She explained everything to us about the room, the hotel facilities and breakfast and we went on out way to room 402. You need to swipe your room card to access the lift. The room itself was fine but a little small for an accessible room, it would be extremely tight to manoeuvre a wheelchair here and no chance of having even the smallest mobility scooter. Due to the small nature of the room, the bathroom is such that the shower splashes water all over the floor near the toilet. It's probably the smallest accessible bathroom that I have seen on my travels. They only do twin accessible rooms but will push the two singles together for you prior to your arrival, I requested this in advance and it was all done prior to our arrival. The heating/cooling system was great and very effective. You do get 2 extra pillows and a fan and a hair dryer in the room. The TV was large, if slightly misplaced due to a connecting door on our room. There were tea and coffee making facilities but as with most hotels, no decaf "normal" tea available. Normal Nescafe original and Nescafe decaf coffee sachets, breakfast tea and herbal teas were available, with milk in plastic sachets. A large button phone, emergency call buttons and cords, hangers, plenty of lighting. The bed was just okay and on the firm side, no where near as comfy and sumptuous as Premier Inn beds but not uncomfortable. It happens to be the closest hotel to our two favourite restaurants in Glasgow. Nanakusa and Loon Fung. We love popping to them for their lunch time special menus, great food and excellent value. Would we stay again? Absolutely, the location, the staff check in experience and the value were excellent.

The rooms are nice. But the breakfast area was very poor. Most of the stations are empty and less staff or not planned properly. Most of the food is empty and didn't refill for more than 30 mins. I understand it was busy. But the management should have planned well as they knew the number of rooms booked.

The hotel is opposite is a very noisy building site. Loud machinery all day and smell of diesel. Building being demolished and presumably new one being built. Room spacious, comfortable and clean, staff pleasant so ok if just a quick overnight visit and away early, but not for a holiday or leisurely start to the day.

Excellent hotel! Clean and lots of lovely little details. The shower was INCREDIBLE. The TV is huge and has lots of channels. Staff are super helpful and friendly.

Room was great for the price. Thermostat was difficult to operate but the staff were super responsive over WhatsApp and moved me temporarily to another room. Did not request cleaning and did not try breakfast.

I am not a great admirer of Ibis hotels but this visit has certainly changed my opinion. I was with a large group and the experience was fantastic. The staff exceptional, couldn't do enough for smooth running of our stay. Checking in 40 people no problem, all keys ready, breakfast well organised. Rooms spotless, complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. Will certainly be back.

Sadly this Ibis has been surrounded by major building work for quite some time and this has obviously taken it's toll on the building. The room was clean and tidy. However for an accessable room I do think you would struggle to get a wheelchair in and out without difficulty. My wife requires a bed for herself due to her back. I booked two single beds which sadly were 2ft 6ins which was a struggle for us both. The day time menue was for us rather strange as there was not one meal that I could say was a simple every meal. Such as steak and ale pie or cottage pie. On the good side the staff were brilliant. I am sure the company will refurbish the hotel once the building work is completed.

Super friendly staff, nice clean room with a good bed and a decently sized bathroom. Decent location not too far from the centre and definitely one of the better hostel breakfasts, we've had. Overall great value for the price.

This hotel is well situated, 10 to 15 min to the city centre (bus station and train station) and less than 10 minutes to the airport shuttle. The room is really cosy, we really loved the atmosphere in there. The shower is quite big, as well as the bed which is also very comfy. Big plus: the breakfast!!! The picture here is not really representative but the breakfast there was really tasty! Lot of options, especially if you want to experience the ''Scottish Breakfast''. They even have vegetarian haggis.

Lots of really good food places nearby (the Smile Cafe down the road does an excellent breakfast and Italian Hot Chocolate). But, it's a 15-20 minute walk to the city centre for shopping or the railway station. I would class this as a budget hotel. It was underwhelming. Very small pod-like bathroom, no bath mat, and I dislike single ply toilet paper. There was a police/medical incident across the hallway. These things happen, but the Police radio noise in the hallway outside our room all night kept us awake. We asked at reception if we could move rooms, unfortunately they were fully booked out (that's understandable), but they could at least have offered free buffet breakfast or a room rebate.

We arrived back at the hotel at midnight and was refused a drink by the duty manger Sonia Taylah as we were too drunk. Her attitude was disgusting and condescending. She clearly did not know the law and served us drink to go to our room. She was very rude and borderline aggressive and refused to listen to reasoned discussion. If we were too drunk to serve in the bar then we should not have been served to take to the room. She was argumentative and turned the music up loud so she couldn’t speak to us. She said she would phone the police and when we asked her too do so she turned the music louder and walked away. Terrible customer service.

Hotel reception was very friendly and quick! Room was very clean and everything you would need. Little caramel logs made me laugh a nice touch. Check out was easy!

Hotel was fine, sadly my stay was spoiled by the terrible customer service I received from the ‘night shift manager’. Her behaviour was borderline aggressive, other staff seemed embarrassed by the unreasonable way she dealt with us.

Very nice hotel and breakfast reasonably priced as you can help yourself to as much as you like. Got into the hotel earlier than check in which was handy. Clean and spacious room. Nice bathroom too. Only thing was it wasn't exactly on Sauchiehall but still within walking distance of everywhere. Across from a building site at the moment but didn't hear or have any issues.

I didn't get to stay here long, but I was very impressed. Staff were very welcoming and the room was cosy. Location was the best at an affordable price. Pillow cases could have been a little bit cleaner, when you were heavily delayed you didn't care. Would stay again!

Used to love this hotel. Use this one every couple of weeks with work and since covid it’s gone down hill. Staff have changed and it’s simply not the same anymore. Rooms are always clean but starting to show signs of getting on a little but you get what you’d expect from an ibis.

Centrally located and very reasonably priced hotel. Small and compact room but perfect for a short stay in Glasgow. Due to an early morning flight we got to the hotel around 9am to ask to drop our bags off and to our delight we were told our room was ready! Happy days! No complaints at all apart from household knocking on our door the following morning at 9am and again at 10am! Not sure why! Would recommend the hotel.

Nice place for over night stay. There was a bad smell in the reset area as you came in the door. The resecptionist explained that there was a problem with a drain. The room was basic but for an over night stay in town it had all you needed. Beds were clean and very comfortable. Nice shower room with clean towels. Staff were very attentive and friendly. There was the same smell.but worse in the room after we had flushed the toilet and it became integrable. We had to be moved and everything was fine. Thanks to Gemma the receptionist was fantastic and sorted everything out very quickly. The location was just what we wanted as we were having a night at the Kings Theatre and it was a five minute walk.

Saying Sauchuehall St is not really true difficult to find. Room small and very warm even with window open. Used instructions to try and change temperature but nothing happened. TV didn't work, receptionist tried to fix but couldn't. Breakfast had to ask for plates and cups, no sausages on buffet had to ask for some. Not cheap on night we stayed so not great experience.

My wife and I stayed here the other day. The location of the hotel is very good. Check in was at 3pm. We arrived at 5pm and our room wasn’t ready. We waited for a while and then asked and they said that our room only needed towels. They said that we could take the room and that towels would be dropped off later. Surely towels should be easily accessible so that the receptionist could quickly grab some? Anyway, for the inconvenience the receptionist kindly gave us 2 free drinks at the bar and a free breakfast which was very nice of them. Our room was specious, pretty basic, but clean and all we needed. We left the hotel for our meal out, expecting towels to be in our room on our return but unfortunately they still weren’t there. How difficult is it to get some towels? Anyway we messaged ibis on WhatsApp and when we returned from the gig the towels were there (hoora!). The bed was fairly comfortable. We didn’t sleep too great as we got hot and the cooling system in the room didn’t work too well. We were also woken by the building site which was opposite. The shower was alright, not very powerful but very roomy. It was an all you can eat breakfast which was nice enough but don’t expect high quality grub. Although it was satisfying knowing that we got it for free. It was the first hotel I’ve stayed at which had a pancake maker. Pancakes were not the best but you could have as many as you wanted which satisfied my inner greed. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We’ve been to better but there are certainly worse hotels to stay at. 3 stars is fair.

First thing I must say is that this is a card only hotel. Rooms are decent, good size, everything that you need in them. Reception staff on check in were efficient, after the first day though they were very poor, left us stood at the bar for a long time, then a huge check in queue developed and we were left there and ignored even longer, gave up in the end and left it. Breakfast is good, it is next door in the Novotel but not an issue. There is an ironing room on level 2 to iron anything you need, be sure to take your own water down for the iron, no facilities down there to fill them up. Location is handy and not too far from anything that you might need or need to get to. Price was good. Overall would possibly stay here again but just a few disappointing factors

Basic but functional room. OK for a night or two. All standard facilities provided and clean and tidy. Bit of a depressing view from the window. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was decent buffet. Bathroom was fitted as a pod which felt a bit weird but worked perfectly well.

Really not a bad place to stay if you're on a budget. It wasn't the cleanest place, but we felt fine with that since it was so affordable. It looked like the hallway hadn't been vacuumed in quite some time. My companion booked a two-bed room but when we opened the door, we saw we were given a room with only one bed. They promptly let us change rooms without any hassle. The bathroom was unusual, but acceptable. It was like a small room was retrofitted into the existing hotel room, feeling a bit like a camper or mobile home. Everything worked well, though. Bedding and towels, not terribly luxurious, but again it was fine for the price.

Good food. Beds comfy. Rooms basic , but fine. Housekeeping could be better. Staff helpful. It is a budget hotel. So far... no noisy fellow guests.

Hotel was full of dodgy people and we had to go next door for breakfast so will never be back. Our room was quiet and cosy although stayed Monday till Friday and our room wasn't cleaned once.

The lady on the front desk was so helpful. The hotel shares the restaurant with the Novotel next door. So she walked me round to make sure I was ok. So clean and I got two chocolate bars in my room. Simply lovely

I was torn between 1 and 2 stars. Three star hotel? How? My view is a literal building site. You'd think with so many empty rooms they would know not to put people in rooms over looking a noisy building site. No bath. Tea in paper cups, plugs that make no sense, a bed that feels less comfortable than the ground and a bathroom that feels and looks cheap

  • 5/5 David G. 2 years ago on Google
Great friendly staff. The lady in reception on Saturday about 10am and the same on Sunday is a credit to the company. She went out get way to help me and my friend. However much money she is earning, it should be doubled. The rooms were nice enough for the price as well but the lady in reception made the stay, sorry I had to many beers to remember your name.
