Very beautiful place!!! A park I stumbled upon! There was an ice cream van inside when I passed by today 🥳 Warm spring day, walking in the park, eating ice cream and admiring the cherry blossoms ...... I love this feeling!

Glasgow Green is by far the oldest of the city's parks established in the 15th century. It is situated within walking distance of the city centre east of the Saltmarket. It's home to a variety of attractions, including: • The People's Palace, a museum dedicated to the history of Glasgow's working class • The Nelson Monument, a 130-foot (40-meter) column dedicated to Admiral Lord Nelson • The McLennan Arch, a 19th-century archway that is a popular spot for photo ops • The Templeton Carpet Factory, a former carpet factory that is now a popular event space • The St. Andrew's Suspension Bridge, a suspension bridge that connects Glasgow Green to the south side of the River Clyde Glasgow Green is also a popular spot for walking, fishing, and cycling.

FREE out in the open. The Glasgow Green was donated to the people of Glasgow. Beautiful green grass going on for ever. Many paths to walk. Walk dogs. Many bins. Close to shops and situated in the middle of a built up Glasgow! peaceful and calm. And the largest ceramic artwork in the world is situated here too!!

It is a large park, beautiful and full of landscapes perfect for photos. I believe that on hot days it is also possible to stay on the grass and have a picnic. I recommend the visit and a walk without haste.

Glasgow green is a beautiful park with Amazing architecture around. It has the view of the city on one side and beautiful river Clyde on the other. The place is really serene. Great place for a day outing, bike ride and exploring around.

Great Park right next to the city centre. There is a foot/cycle path right alongside the Clyde river. It's convenient for a quick break from the hustle & bustle of the city centre. And like all the wonderful parks in Glasgow, it looks different in every season!

It was my first time to Glasgow green. I was attending a music festival. Quite a large area to walk around but enjoyable. I don't know what it would be like without the festival set up? I guess it's still a great park.

Amazing green spaces, great for dogs. Paths are great for cycling. There could be more trees, but it's very pretty. The People's Palace is an interesting museum.

Historically significant to the city and the people's palace is my favourite museum in the city. If you like social history it's the place to go, particularly the single end set up with the voice over.

One of Glasgow finest parks, history is Amazing and the peoples Palace and coronation fountain make you proud to be from Glasgow, the River clyde runs through the park And the smell of the yeast from the tenant's brewers catches your senses, love the experience of Sunday walks with my 2 little Dogs. 5*****

Wonderful, expansive green space in the heart of Glasgow. Focal point of festivals and picnics alike! Very handy for local amenities such as West on the Green and the scenic People's Palace and closed - at time of posting - Winter Gardens glass house

Great for older and younger kids. Not many parks cater for the older ones. Loads of green space. A fantastic Freewheel North hiring out gocarts, bikes etc and so good with kids and adults of all abilities. Very reasonably priced. Massive play area for kids and a smaller but still significantly large area for the toddler age group. Loads of picnic benches to sit at. There is also a cafe there but we didn't use it. All day fun and you actually don't need to spend any money. Bring your own picnic. Toilets too which is always a must with kids. Recommend very highly.

Great park. loads of free space. seated areas, football pitches and a mini outdoor gym. Plenty of green areas and private secluded enclosed areas and very clean and part of the west highland way route. Also a good place for people who enjoy rowing boats. And genral outdoor sports. It also has a hockey stadium ans very close to the city centre and barrowlands market. Great ice cream parlour situated on the nearby salt market amongst other shops and bars.

Ok when busy in daytime but I'd be wary of being there at other times. I've never before seen signs that indicate "safer routes". Several police cars present and restricted areas due to a recent incident.

The park itself is great for walks. It has a sand park for families and children, but it is not a huge place and has limited games. No place to hide when it is raining. There isn't a good transport link, with the nearest bus being about 10mins walk, running only 2x an hour. Nonetheless, there are nearby places to add to your activities such as the People's Palace and fountain, some benches to sit and picnic.

There is a great place in the Green run by Free Wheel North, they allow people of all ages and abilities to come and enjoy their track in a bike suited to you or your families needs. Also if you feel in need of a coffee and cake the Coffee on the Green there also helps keep away the January blues.

Great place with lots going on. It is free and a gorgeous place to spend sometime, especially on a lovely day. There are options for running along the river, walking around and taking in the views - it has some lovely trees, sculptures, beautiful buildings nearby and much more.

  • 4/5 Lynn A. 1 year ago on Google
Love the Green. Wide paths good for walking or cycling. A small park for little ones at the West end and a big sandy park at the East end for all ages. The East end park now has a small coffee shop beside the go-cart area. The go-cart hire is only available on Sundays at the moment, but you can bring your own bikes and use the paths on other days. Only down side, the public toilets beside the park have been closed so you need to go to either West pub-restaurant or The People's Palace a couple of minutes walk away (also has a new cafe).

To have a park next to the river that you can walk through. And enjoy the monuments, places and scenery in the heart of Glasgow is a joy. Great spot for a picnic or let the kids go wild

  • 5/5 Dave C. 7 months ago on Google
Very big park a half-mile SE of downtown Glasgow along the river. You can relax here on benches or on the green lawns. You can also wander the paved paths, see Nelson's monument, Doulton Fountain, a swinging bridge, gardens, and a museum. I spent a couple of hours here.

Security was ott! Taking umbrellas and binning them, deodorant binned, an unopened can of juice, binned. I could have kept them in my bag, no need to confiscate them! The drinks area with queue control was a shambles, we got to the serving counter to have rainwater collecting on the canopy above our heads dump us every 5 seconds! No lids for drinks so we had our beers etc diluted with heavy rainwater. I didn't use the portacabin toilets but there appeared plenty on the park. Plenty staff to help too. Plenty food outlets but nowhere to sit! I have chronic pain and if I'm going to eat, I prefer to have a rest and sit down, you can't do that here. I don't fancy sitting on mud. I'm unsure what the expect people to do...stand for 17 + hours while at events lasting a weekend..dint believe they thought of that one.

  • 4/5 John M. 7 months ago on Google
Visited to watch the World Pipe Band Championships. Venue was excellent for the event. Well organised and thought the staff did a great job. The event itself was wonderful & I can see why they choose Glasgow Green each year
