Metropolitan Cathedral is a Roman Catholic Cathedral in the city centre of Glasgow, Scotland, which was designed in 1814 by James Gillespie Graham in the Neo Gothic style. It lies on the north bank of the River Clyde in Clyde Street. It is dedicated to the patron saint of Scotland, Saint Andrew. The cathedral's pipe organ was originally built in 1903 by Henry Willis & Sons. It is a peacefull place for pray.

It is a lovely cathedral; peaceful, serene and I can spend time with my Lord. The surroundings of the church was equally calm. I love this cathedral where my prayers were answered.

An old cathedral that has a new look. If you enjoy religious tourism, St Andrew's is a Glasgow landmark. You will find frequent Catholic mass and confessions

A beautiful Cathedral, blocks from Glasgow Green and along the river. A bit smaller than I was expecting, but beautiful nonetheless. On the left is an image of Scottish Saint John Ogilive. Around the perimeter of the church are the text of various Latin prayers.

Tranquility in the middle of chaos. Open doors policy during the month of September all over Glasgow. Lived here my whole life and only just found this beautiful, historic place. The history is there to be seen. Beautiful

The church in Glasgow is in a crisis of faith and those in the hierarchy would rather bang on about "climate change" than the SALVATION OF SOULS! They have forgotten the divine mission that Our Lord laid out for us (or they simply refuse to carry out that mission). The Glasgow faithful need traditional authentic catholic moral direction and they are not getting it from Rome and not from our Bishop William Nolan. Enough with this talk of "synodality", we laymen do not want power. We want you clergy to exercise your God given authority for the good of Holy Mother Church. You are currently failing monumentally and it has to change. May God have mercy on your souls.

A beautifully serene space, I visited the cathedral while I was taking a walk along the Clyde. The outside of the building does nothing to hint at the lovely inside. Once inside the only sound is the running water in the font.

Perhaps not as ornate as some but still interesting, and peaceful in the centre of the city. Three or four disabled parking spaces at the front. Could be more.

Beautiful inside. Clean, bright and so HUGE! Looks as though it's just been redecorated too. I attended a wedding ...(Covid restricted) and the service was lovely. Pity we weren't able to sing though! Well worth a visit.

It's the church in the heart of Glasgow city, facing the River Clyde. Used to attend Mass here in 2008-2009. Also in 2015. Now this year in 2019 I am back to this very church. Feels amazing . Relaxed and free. The church service here is also very good. Very peaceful church to be.

Very beautiful church situated in Clyde Street. Glasgow. I was at a funeral of a friend. So my thoughts were elsewhere. It was carried out with decorum and dignity.

Metropolitan Cathedral of St Andrew, a 1816 Gothic revival Roman Catholic Church, with cool, contemporary artwork housed in its re-invented cloister garden, is just off the River Clyde and next to the Portland Street Suspension Bridge. This beautiful retreat is not only rewarding for your worn soul... but also your worn soles, knees, and hips! We each chose our own pew since we had the place to ourselves, sat in silence for about 10 minutes, and just let our thoughts wander. Our aching feet though, they stayed in place.

Visited here recently on a beautiful sunny morning. What a lovely peaceful place of worship. Remember when visiting to pop outside to the walled garden and read the inscriptions. Well worth a visit.

This fairly modern cathedral dedicated to Saint Andrew strikes a stark contrast with Glasgow's much older, and more famous medieval cathedral. The metropolitan cathedral is bright and clean, small but striking. It sits on the bank of the Clyde, nestled comfortably in between even more modern buildings of Glasgow. Do stop inside to admire the white and gold interior, and step outside for a moment of peace in the memorial garden, with its water, mirrors and olive tree, a tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragedy of the Arandora Star.
