We arrived in Glasgow at 10:30 pm because our train was delayed of 2 hours. When we arrived at Smiths Hotel, the staff did not welcome us in a nice way. The receptionist was watching a movie and he seemed to be bothered by our arrival. We were asking him some questions about the room and he was answering very fast, without really looking to us. He gave us the keys and went back to his movie. In contrast to the welcome, the room was nice and the beds were very comfortable. Furthermore, the hotel is not so far from the city center, which is really nice.

Definitely a 2 star hotel. Staff are helpful and friendly. But the rooms are awful. Windows have never been cleaned, bathroom had a broken handle and no lock in the inside. Ever bed sheet had a Stain and the room stank of cigarettes, weed and damp.

Good to spend night on a low price. Small but nice place. Very supportive reception staff. I will say good to on low budget.

The best hotel ever, it smelled like weed, there was a wepste swim in my room, we got robbed by the employees, there was mold all over my room, but still it's the best hotel ever.

Very much a budget hotel and this is reflected in the price. Very friendly and helpful at reception. Great location for that part of Glasgow with plenty of amenities, transport links, pubs and restaurants. Ideal if your looking for a cheap place to rest your head after a night out

Located 25 mins from the station so not the easiest of access rooms are basic and questionably clean 25h reception area for access to rooms but they ask you leave your key when you leave so security of leaving things in your room is questionable nice and cheap but I would look elsewhere unless your desperate

Very friendly and nice stuff! Apart of this unfortunately horrible hotel! The room was very dirty (sheets and towels) we had to ask to be replaced. All the floors were smelling weed. We paid 70£ per night with did not worth it at all! Wouldn't recommend it especially for families with children!

We had booked to stay at Smith's hotel for 4 nights but ended up leaving after just one. When checking in the staff were friendly, but the interior of the hotel it's self was very dirty and worn, in the hallways it looked like the carpets had not been vacuumed for a very long time. The biggest problem was our room. It was very small and basic, but that would not have been a problem for us. What was a problem was how dirty and unhygenic the room was. The mattress was rock hard, stained, and gave us both a very sore back after just one night. There were dark stains on the duvet cover, and in the morning we noticed other very disturbing stains on the skirt of the bed. In the bathroom there was tooth paste spray on the wall next to the sink from previous guests, and there was hair and dust on the floor. The window had a broken hinge and was dangerous if we wanted to have it open. We had planned to have breakfast at the hotel, but seeing the hygiene standards of the room changed our mind. I have only given service 2 stars because management need to address the hygiene and safety issues.

Nice comfortable room with lots of space for a family. Staff were helpful and accommodating. Within walking distance of pretty much anything you would need. Would stay again.

perfect example of a budget hotel. super friendly and helpful staff. the building is old but the warmth is welcoming. Umar was exceptional at helping us after we had to change hotel and needed one at short notice. first room was noisy and they graciously changed the room for us.

AVOID AT ALL COST It was the worst overnight stay I have ever experienced at a hotel. Firstly the bed was tiny, curtains were filthy like there was hard snotters on the curtains. Secondly the guests in the rooms next door and around our rooms came back early mornin, the noise they were making was horrendous they were arguing, shouting, fighting on and off until 6am and playing music loud. They must have brought girls back as at 4am and 5.30am they were having intercourse in the room full of boys. The whole night was horrendous and as an owner of a business they didn't address this as a mark of respect for the other guests in the hotel. Contacted to request a refund and ignored, worst overnight stay I have ever had!!

The people are very nice there. Most of them. It's very very convenient in terms of location and convenience. There is a small art gallery closer by, almost at a close walking distance right about the corner from front gate.

Dirty. I arrived as they finished “cleaning” my room and found the bathroom basically untouched except to throw in new soaps. The last persons spat out toothpaste was still in the sink and their hair in the shower. The rooms are like a shoe box in terms of size and despite this being the cheapest option for one night (on a weekday!) it was still almost $100.

It's not the best hotel but the rooms are good enough, bus stop in the door, restaurants and Sainsbury's very near. Good staff, goof wifi... The only thing for is the shower, very small. In global for the price it's good.

Can’t beat the location, especially for the price! Rooms were cleaned and equipped with everything we needed. The staff was also kind and helpful. I do wish the windows would be thicker or sealed better as we could hear nearly everything on the street outside and it was noisy at times
