Lovely looking building. On road parking is very expensive but free parking on roads a ten minute walk away. All staff were very friendly. Room was small but very clean and tidy. Breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold food. Only issue was that the wall between us and the next room was very thin, we could hear every word they said and I'm sure they could hear us too.

Stayed for 1 night - very poor experience overall. The receptionist always looks bored and wears very casual clothing which is strange for a hotel. The room was very small - no space to move around the bed. The toilet has absolutely zero leg room either side and you can't use it with the toilet door closed. The mattress was very thin and springy. It was also very cold overnight and the radiator did not work. There was also mold in the shower and no shower gel in the dispenser. Only positive was the location. Will definitely not be returning here anytime soon. Avoid at all costs.

Would stay again when I'm in Glasgow. Fabulous hotel service and the owner was super friendly (Azam), and so did the staff. Clean and neat, and the Scottish breakfast is above my expectation.

Extremely dusty. Needed a really good clean. Needed a new mattress. Good bathroom. Big shower. Bathroom was really warm and cosy. Bedroom was quite cold. Location was actually OK. Transport links. West end. It was nice and quiet at night which was a big tick

Booked the wrong date, turned up and Assam gave us a room for the same price that I'd booked online, really friendly guy! The location is perfect to enjoy the west end

Lovely Scottish themed hotel where rooms are decorated in a tartan theme. Great views from our room. Breakfast in the morning is self service. Overall a very enjoyable visit.

It is in a good location for things to go in Glasgow, close to transit. They don’t have parking, they have meters out front you can pay for. Or the botanical gardens have free parking 10 minutes away. We got a room in the basement, which wasn’t great. We didn’t have a view, just the underside on the stairs into the building. Breakfast was good, they have a variety of things to eat.

Lovely location, great pubs and restaurants in walking distance. The bus stop was just outside the hotel and 10 minutes into the centre. It was a lovely old hotel with high ceilings. Breakfast was a self-serve buffet. The bed was small and hard for my liking and no elevator so it wouldn't be good if you weren't able to go up stairs.

Very nice hotel — stayed 3 nights. Good value for the price. Room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nothing special, but had everything you need. Location was perfect for our needs, and we will definitely stay there again.

Dreadful Hotel, no not stay here!!! Dirty throughout, unhelpful staff and NOT good value. Gave false information regarding parking and availability of parking vouchers

Cheap and nasty beds, not really cleaned properly, building is old and requires upkeep and maintainance. Heating was on in the whole building even on the year's hottest summer day making sleep near impossible. Think I'd have rather camped outside. Staff were helpful enough but not overly so. Was ok for the price but even more basic than modern budget hotels.

If I could give 0 I would. Experience was okay to begin with but the front desk staff on the day we left absolutely ruined it. Couldn’t be bothered to take his face out of his phone to acknowledge the people in front of him which is horrendous thanks to him will never recommend anyone stay at this hotel - save your money and go to the place across the road staff are likely much more civilised

My wife and I stayed at the Argyll Western for 2 nights in May and it was amazing. Amaz was a wonderful wealth of knowledge from restaurants to pleasant conversations to even moving his car so we can have his spot. The room were spacious and clean the only thing I will say was the bathroom was small but we made it work. It was quiet and the breakfast was delicious, honestly it was just nice to have cereal one day and the variety was there. Honestly it was a great experience and you'll enjoy the convenience of how close you are to everything. Thank you again Amaz!

Very comfortable room, clean and welcoming. Great breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. Only marked location down by a star as there is no carpark. However very helpful staff help you with cheap on street voucher and advice on parking arrangements.

This was a most enjoyable stay. Staff were very attentive. The bedroom was excellent, I would like to take the mattress home. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. Great situation for the West End. I would highly recommend this hotel. Great value .

Clean, friendly hotel with nice staff. Room was a little tired and could do with a bit of a freshen up but quiet and clean.

The rooms are pretty basic, but very clean. The staff are exceptional. They really are the highlight of staying here. They are really friendly and can't do more for you. We mentioned in passing that our TV had very limited channels, came back and we had a new TV with netflix. They even heated milk late at night for our toddler who was being a little fussy after our very long drive. The breakfast is great, fresh and efficient. Location is also a massive plus. Bars, restaurants and the infamous Ashton Lane are on your doorstep. Glasgow Central is under 10 mins away by subway. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

As a hotel it's just OK. Our room wasn't very clean and the bathroom was mouldy. Bed was sufficient for one night. The whole building was very tired and needs updating. The staff were lovely, breakfast consisted of horrible cheap ingredients. It has an excellent location so perfectly fine for a quick, cheap stay in Glasgow.

Perfect for the pubs and restaurants down Byres Road. Parking up the side street is ok and the hotel provides a ticket for £2. Seems reasonably well maintained for the age of building. The man on reception at check in was cheerful enough.
