This is probably one of the best hostels I have stayed. The rooms are clean, bathrooms are clean and common areas are clean. I however did not have breakfast here so did not see that area. The staff are nice. The beds have privacy curtains which is a great addition and you get a lamp and charging ports. It is close enough to everything but not too close that you get street noise.

Amazing place and lovely team. The people who running this place have the real Scottish spirit, absolutely stunning. Met there 2 intellectual Italian young ladies who were told about their trip in Scotland and were extremely charming and nice. The place itself is pretty luxury, all clean and fresh

DON'T DON'T DON'T - In the bathroom there was a crack in the ceiling from which it dripped down - Also on the bathroom ceiling was mold - The window could not be closed properly: you lived as if you were on the street AND it was cold - Every 5-10 minutes all the walls and the bed vibrated - There was a humming in the background that was constantly audible, even with earplugs. the fact that I was offered another room after the first night doesn't change the fact that someone will be in this room again, right?? It was awful. Not to think about sleep or rest at all. Absolutely brazen at the reception. I had to pay for the second night, but still got another room at short notice for a lot of money. I was glad I didn't have to stay there any longer. I really can only advise against it!

What wasn’t poor? The beds where hard as concrete , sheets where loose. We walked in and tried to open the window only to see the blind fall off the ceiling. Ceiling had black mould, pillow had suspicious white substance on it. Ceiling started leaking , bathroom door wouldn’t shut. Found an ant on the top bunk and the room fluctuated between being freezing and volcanic. Would not recommend and you had to rent a towel? The white bedding must get washed why can’t they add a towel as well? Overall poor however staff where sound.

We stayed in this hostel for 3 nights in a 4 persons dorm. The bathroom was one of the things we really liked. It looked new and was spacious. Next to the high ceilings and curtains around the beds. It’s not a social hostel though. If you are looking for that, I wouldn’t recommend this hostel. The Main street with cafes, restaurants and shops is quite close. Queen Street station is a 20 minute walk away. Staff was friendly! Didn’t take breakfast, so can’t say anything about that. Main area wasn’t really cozy, this could use some improvement.

Really good hostel. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Each room had own bathroom. And each bed had own curtain and locker. Good location. Just 1 minutes by walk from train station. I will come here again. Recommend who need short stay at Glasgow.

Good beds with curtains. Bathroom quality seems to depend on the room you're getting. They have a microwave and a kettle you can use. Service: Could be better. They kicked me out of the breakfast room because I brought my own food. The location is good though.

You get what you pay for, very basic but a good location and very friendly helpful staff. Basically just a bed, thats it, not even a desk or a bedside table or even a bin. Bathroom was nice and shower worked fine enough

Good quality-price relationship. Rooms are clean and the beds are quite comfortable for a hostel! Very nice staff, I made a mistake with my booking and they sorted it out for me. No parking but they give you a discount for the parking nearby.

Lovely backpacker hostel, loved the atmosphere with other travelers. Lots of people were surprised that there was NO kitchen (they have a kettle so cup ramen is a fair deal). Luggage storage was available for a small fee. Really can't complain. Place was clean, they offered breakfast (for £8 as of August 2023). Loved that the shared dorms had curtains completely around the bed.

Great hostel and very affordable/competitively priced, considering todays rates. Welcoming and helpful staff. All beds have their own sockets and reading lights and have little curtains all around for increased privacy. A mystery to me why it gets an average rating, I would highly recommend this place!

Really good for the price - booked it for the next day and a night only cost me £18. Decent location, within a 15 min walk of the very centre. Bathroom was clean and modern and the room was really big compared to other 6 person dorms I've seen. There are lockers in the room (bring your own padlock). Really appreciated the privacy curtains around the beds and the little shelf with a night light on top of the bed. Only minor gripe I had was that the springs in the bed made a decent deal of noise when first settling on it, but overall the mattress was just fine to sleep on. Fyi there is no kitchen - I didn't need one, but might be relevant for those who want to stay for longer!

It was fine. Double Bedroom and bathroom were basic for the amount of money I paid (£150 for two nights). It would have been nice to have a table or clothing rail to hang my clothes at, for example. The mattress was really flat, as was the duvet. The bedsheet had a few ominous stains on it which I diverted my eyes away from. I definitely felt safe during my stay however. The location was quiet and I definitely felt looked after - staff were incredibly friendly. Just down the road from famous music venue, King Tut's

Stayed here for one night, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect as it's only about a 15-20 minute walk into the centre. We were out till late and the area it is in feels very safe to walk back to at night. The room is where I felt I was let down. It is a very small room with no drawers or anywhere to put your stuff apart from on the limited floor space. The bed was rock solid, the mattress was thin and hard and the duvet was very thin as well as there being rips in the linen. The bathroom was clean but there was hardly any toilet paper. Overall it was fine for an overnight stay if you are looking for somewhere cheap to stay near the city centre.

I was so surprised when I figured out this place was the old best western hotel that I have stayed in 2019 🤣. That means, if you are looking for a hostel dorm with a decent ensuite bathroom, it is a very good choice. The location is good and all places you need to visit are close. All beds have curtains, private reading light and charging dock. In short, cannot find anything to complain with this price.

Bed given to someone else after I had booked and payed for accommodation. I was left with no accommodation on Saturday night after already staying the Friday night here. I booked 3 nights and stayed the first night, then when I was coming back for the second evening the stuff from my bed had been removed and the sheets changed. When I went to reception to find out what was going on I was told that whoever checked me in had not checked me in properly and so I had counted as a no show. As the hostel was completely full I was left on a Saturday night with no accommodation in Glasgow. I don’t understand how this is even possible, and I actually think that they had overbooked and as I was a foreign 18 year old they thought that it would be easier to kick me out than someone else.

Not an objectively bad hostel, just very bad for young back packers or travellers. Full of older men, no kitchen, luggage storage fees, little no fun atmosphere. Recommend if you just want cheap accom. But if you’re looking for a good hostel experience, please go elsewhere

It is what it is, you pay for what you get I guess really so it was just short of £17 for a bunk bed with curtains and a small shelf with a light beside the bed, room I had, they didn't even provide a towel so you have to dig deep into your bag if you want to have a shower or a bath. Then try to figure out how to dry your stuff before leaving the next morning, I also slept in a room where I was awake most of the night due some other man talking to himself, seemed a bit weird or out of character, breakfast is continental and costs £8 extra and all it is, is basically dry foods like cereal, toast and tea and coffee

(Private room) We had a great stay at here. Our bathroom was clean and newly renovated. It also came with soap and towels The location was great and a close walk to restaurants, dining and more. The staff was very helpful and even helped me plan a day trip out of town and helped me figure the travel to and from. My only complaint it that the breakfast was not worth it. There weren’t many options and the food that was where was very limited. We went early morning and the ham and cheese was both almost out with only one slice left. Leaving us with cereal and some bad fruit.

The rooms were nice and the staff were incredibly lovely. The hostel is about a 15-20 minute walk from the center of Glasgow and there are also nearby bus stops if you don’t prefer to walk. The en-suite bathroom was clean and more modern than other hostels I have stayed at. The beds all have privacy curtains and there are lockers in the rooms, though they aren’t super big and you need to have your own padlock (you can purchase one from the front desk if need be, I think). They also have lockers that you can rent to store your stuff if you don’t want to carry it around all day and they only cost £2 which is very reasonable. All in all, I would stay here again and recommend it to others looking for an affordable, safe hostel.

Great location, not too expensive. My only complaint would be that the Wifi was either not working or very very weak in my dorm.

the hotel was very lovely to stay in! wouldn’t be great if we were planning to be there for more than one night, mostly because there was no in room storage, and we would’ve liked more pillows, but for the night we were there it was nice:) (we were aware of the lockers we could get don’t worry)

Absolutely loved this hostel. Friendly staff. House keeping staff are amazing for the way the hostel is sparkling..., all the time. Highly recommended.

Rude staff and you have to pay to store your luggage. Did not let us check in early although the room was ready. You have to bring your own towels. 2 stars because the price is okay.

There were a couple of good points. I quite liked the bed which was clean, comfortable, study and had privacy curtains. The bed was the highlight. Overall, the hotel was clean. Also, the hostel's location was central enough. Finally, the service at the front desk was OK. However, there were a number of things I wasn't keen on. First, having an ensuite bathroom in an 8-person dorm was a bad idea. Every time someone flushed the toilet, they woke me up. Furthermore, the bathroom made the room smell bad at times (you know what I mean). Second, the hostel had a few small hangout spaces but these were mostly packed, so it was hard to find a place to hang out. Third, most of the people staying at the hostel were students living there due university accomodation shortages. Consequently, the hostel lacked the international traveller vibe that most hostels have. Although the hostel was mostly clean, the bin in the main social area was overflowing. Additionally, you must have your own padlock to lock the locker. Really, they should be providing padlocks. Lastly, £44 per night is rather expensive for a hostel, especially an average one like this. Overall, this hostel is acceptable if you don't want to pay hotel prices and just need a bed for the night. Don't expect much more than that though.

Amazing B&B, found it on very short notice, extremely affordable and i was pleasantly surprised that our room had a fire stick which had Netflix and Disney plus already setup at no extra charge. Though there was no drink making facilities the bathroom had complimentary toiletries. When we were running late for our booking the staff were really easy to communicate with and were more than content to keep our booking. The building is gorgeous, check in was easy and the location was perfect for where we needed to be. Really took a weight off of the trip.

The rooms are clean and good space-wise but that's when the good stuff ends. You will NOT check in early and they are likely to have only one key per room even though there are 4 strangers in each of the rooms. Towels will cost you and there are no curtains in the showers so expect a flood every time someone uses it, safekeeping just as well will cost you and the lockers are paid via uses, not via time and reception forgot to me these services are paid for. The manager is definitely trying her best, the lock to the toilet was busted and she offered me an alternative. but expect the rest of reception to be either unhelpful at best or at worst rude and exhausting.

Dorm room was fine and curtains around bed is nice. Staff at reception were very friendly. Breakfast very basic for the price. Only things on offer were cornflakes, scrambled eggs (way too salty), beans, couscous, croissants, and bread with ham, processed cheese or jam. On the plus side the croissants were lovely and fresh! Would have been far better with the addition of some muesli, yoghurt and fruit etc.

This Hotel makes me feel at home. Since i got to the UK I have had opportunity to rent my own apartment. But the hospitality is awesome. The staff are so humble, nice and friendly. They respond to you immediately and with a smiling gesture to make you more comfortable. Everything about the hostel is amazing. I have been staying here for a month now and each day feels like home. The name says it all, safe stay. I recommend everyone who check them out and enjoy the hospitality.
