Overall I enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks were very expensive - I could have bought an entire bottle of wine for the price of a glass at the bar and breakfast was disappointing. Fried eggs should be available at the breakfast buffet and some of the guests stood with plates of food going cold while they waited for fried eggs to be made, not realising that they were not actually available as part of the buffet. The normal price of £17.50 for breakfast is punching well above the experience and actual quality of the food.

Just had a fabulous afternoon Christmas Party in this hotel. The staff were wonderful and the food excellent. A great deal price wise and excellent disco and overall lovely atmosphere. Definitely be back next year!

It's an above average hotel well located within Glasgow's city centre in the edge of merchant city. Had booked a deluxe room however unsure what made it deluxe and not sure the extra price warranted the use of a complementary dressing gown, which appeared to be the only difference I could see. The room itself was of okay size, not huge but didn't feel overly small either. Positives: I was at the end of a corridor so away from elevators, bed was comfortable, staff were helpful and friendly especially when I needed to change my booking and it was conveniently placed to explore Glasgow. Negatives: the room wasn't ready when I arrived just before 3pm, I waited 30 minutes before asking again and it still wasn't ready so I was swapped into one that was, the room was pretty noisy, you can hear your neighbours, there was a constant dripping noise every time the heating came on, housekeeping were really loud in the early morning with a lot of banging and the room could do with a refresh with a stained carpet and broken fixings, but most of these things are to be expected or can be tolerated to a certain degree. It felt overpriced for what it was, had breakfast been included it might have felt more reasonable.

I've stayed here several times before and do love this hotel. As a status member, I usually get a room upgrade and this weekend was no exception. But what makes it is the staff. Unfailingly brilliant. Biggest shout out to Thomas who has been working the late shift the last couple of nights, genuinely a lovely guy and nothing too much trouble for him. Give him a pay rise! As they say, people make Glasgow, and Thomas has made our stay excellent.

Centrally located hotel, in need of some TLC. No air con but at least the windows opened. The downside was it's on a busy street that's noisy into the early hours. The room was clean but well beyond time for renovation. The best thing was the massive bed. The restaurant was nice and breakfast was tasty, with plenty of choice. The restaurant is small and the bar area, while comfortable, had no atmosphere and was far too bright in the evening. You want to relax with a drink after a long day but felt like you were an exhibit in a zoo. However, I have to say the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.

The room itself was very disappointing! I spent over £200 on the second most expensive room and the room was tiny and disgusting. The skirting boards and carpet was covered in stains. The shower doesn't fit into the shower holder, as soon as you put the shower on the pressure causes it to fly out of the holder, hitting the person in the shower. I am disabled and have muscularskeletal issues and had to hold the shower head above me causing me quite a bit of pain!! The only good things were breakfast and the staff. The staff were so lovely and friendly! But you're better off going to a premier Inn!! Cheaper and way better quality for price!!

I would say the saving grace of this hotel is it's location and most importantly, the staff. Room standard wise I'd give a 4 rating. I was a little ill and was cold so I needed to get my heating on but couldn't, something about no one to turn it on. So the lovely receptionist got me an extra duvet. The toilet needed unblocking or something cos the water was brown so I flushed it, but turned brown again after 30 mins so I had to change rooms. Toilets in both rooms needs bleaching, mold and limescale in the cracks and corners so seems it might be the same for other toilets in other rooms. I really dislike hotels with toilets that aren't pristine, that should be a given. The bed was very comfortable though. And the staff are really great, I'll give them a 10 for hospitality. However, just because of the toilets, honestly I wouldn't stay again.

Front of house couldn't have been more helpful, both day and night staff. Breakfast very tasty with a good selection and waiting staff were very attentive. Room was clear and comfortable with everything I needed. Only disappointment was the lack of room service which was advertised, but unavailable when I tried to order some food

Room was extremely basic, no body lotion, no conditioner...no anti slip mat for bath which I found unsafe (though you could get one from reception) why not there already, strange! No fan in bathroom either so took ages for steam to go away. Very basic bathroom, nowhere to put anything. No smart TV , just basic channels... Could be noisey at times, walls seem to be quite thin, had to phone reception to check if they had a noise policy and they were quick to react and noise stopped. Great breakfast and staff great, attentive, polite , friendly

Excellent hotel, good food, minutes from Glasgow city shopping areas. It was a very cold evening, so we stayed in our room after our excellent meal in the hotel restaurant. The room was nice and warm, so we drank our complimentary wine and enjoyed each others company. Highly recommend the Glasgow Mercure.
