Reception, bar staff & lady at breakfast, all very pleasant & helpful. Our room was ice cold & smelt of damp or leaking water at some time. Could not increase room temperature it stayed at 16° when we left it went to 18°. I have never experienced cold like this anywhere. I feel hotel is geared towards young student types or parents visiting students The breakfast was very nice, hot & cold options, pastries & coffee machine with all sorts including hit chocolate

Room is a tiny box without a closet or anywhere to hang your clothes . The mattress is of the worst quality. You wake up with neck and back ache. The place is visually appealing and with a contemporary atmosphere and is clean, bright . The staff is young and eager to be helpful. The manager micromanages staff instead should focus on providing better customer service.

Situated in a very convenient location. 5min walk to Glasgow Queen Station. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Room was cozy. It’s a self service hotel so you don’t have a telephone in your room to call reception. Lobby is really nice. Two negative things: Our room didn’t have a closet. So we had to keep our belongings inside our bags. Rooms don’t have air conditioning. Only heating. If you need little bit cold air you have to keep the window open. Overall a wonderful stay.

Food is terrible… they served me what I can only describe as a rustler microwaved bbq rib… and some salad for £10! Gym was no good… they ask for a £10 deposit per night but you won’t get that back immediately ( they don’t tell you this until your leaving ) televisions are dire.. cannot connect any devices. I won’t be staying here again

Very basic for a Marriott property. Poorly cleaned. Location is good. Large lobby for doing work or having a drink. Secure with Card access to both hotel after hours and elevator.

Not quite a stay but breakfast. Breakfast buffet for £15pp. I came to the hotel before scrubbing in for surgery at nearby Hospital and breakfast is so-so. Selection isn’t great and looks like it’s been sitting there for quite awhile. Yogurts are displayed on a counter and not quite sure if it’s refrigerated. It may be, unsure as fridges not visible nor does do the plates feel cold nor do the items. Cheeses are warm so hence the issue above. Eggs and beans on a heater ( didn’t dare to try). I couldn’t find the reception as it’s also the bar area. There were three women when I came in. One with reddish hair and another who seemed to be busy with a laptop and someone who seemed like the receptionist. Receptionist acknowledged me but the other two were far too busy to greet a customer. The hotel is funky in a sense but that’s all I’ve got for it. Definitely doesn’t live up to the Marriott brand. Shame as their name holds up so high in Northern America. Please spend your money at a small business or indecent restaurants!

The facilities were clean and the staff were friendly, the problem was with the room. First, there was under lighting around the bed that provided a nice ambiance, however there was no way to turn it off. To make matters worse, it was faulty and would randomly turn off and on every 10ish minutes so we were constantly woken up by the light. Secondly, there was no way to adjust the temperature. The posted placard stated it was a fixed temperature, and if you wanted it different to open the window. The problem was, our room was on the street side of the hotel so it was extremely noisy with the window open. Also, the fixed temperature was 25 degrees Celsius (about 78F). If we left the window open for some relief the noise kept us awake, if we shut it, it was far too hot in that room. I wouldn't stay here again.

The Moxy is clean and the breakfast is good. The rooms are small for my taste. The soap dispenser in our shower did not work, and the drain would not keep up. I ended up standing in several inches of water. My number one complaint, however, was the room temperature. They do not allow air conditioning in the cooler months. Instead, they tell you to open your window and shut off your heating unit, which we did. We even propped our room door open, trying to get some relief. The room was a constant 25 C/ 78 F no matter what. We will never stay here again.

The Moxy Glasgow Merchant City was a fun, well-organized place to spend a few nights while exploring Glasgow. It's close to the train/bus stations and has lots of great restaurants nearby (though one needs to look a bit to find them on side streets). It's also close to Glasgow Gardens, a hidden gem of beautiful walks and monuments. We dined in on pizza one evening when the weather outside was frightful -- a great option accompanied by some excellent cabernet from the bar. We look forward to our next visit.

Took around 20 minutes to check-in despite there being three members of staff at the desk. Then the keycard didn’t work so we had to return to the desk again. It seems every member of staff has a laborious login process to even access the systems. The room & bathroom were clean enough though quite tight to move around in and the soundproofing was not good - I woke up to a repetitive banging noise at 8am that I couldn’t place. The lobby area is nice enough but not what I go to a hotel for personally. I’d prefer for the staff to be a little /less/ laid back and more efficient, even if the vibe of the place is quite chilled.

Whole team were lovely and friendly! Problem with the heating in my room. Maintenance guy came quickly, and when couldn’t be fixed moved my room. Can’t fault cleanliness of hotel and service of staff.

Great hotel, experience dependent on staff. Dealt with great staff but also at times quite hard to get staffs attention when all crowded speaking to one another. Breakfast was challenging if vegan as no hot vegan options but beans. All dairy free yoghurts not available both days I was there and had to ask for dairy free milk but was available. Went the last hour of breakfast which meant items were not restocked. Options somewhat lacking but room was great. Can cast apps from phone to TV such as Netflix easily and all modern facilities

Booked here for a stay during work night out. Was pleasantly surprised by the price of £71 a night which was the cheapest I could find, even when checking Premier Inn/travel lodges etc. The downstairs area is very cool with a nice bar area, seating and pool table. Like others, I was slightly confused about check in but found it quick enough when I kept heading towards the bar and right enough it’s all combined together. Staff were welcoming and let me check in around 11:30 despite booking saying 15:00. They take a £10 deposit per night which is refunded on checkout. Checkout was also very speedy. Rooms were fine - fairly basic but got all the essentials and just what I was looking for. All in all, very good hotel at especially good price.

Awesome and beautiful hotel for its hip and chic interiors. Was a bit confuse at first when walking in as what appears to be a bar but is also a check-in counter as well. The staffs are super nice and the location is within walking distance to all the shops and attractions. I was there in mid-September and weather is a little warm. It would have been a 4 star had the room have air conditioning. The staff mentioned to run the fan and open the window however the window only crack open just a tiny bit. The rooms is hot. Was told even though there is a thermostat, it cannot be change according to corporate direction, hence even the lobby had to have there doors open to cool off. I have stayed at the Moxy in London airport and was able to turn up the air conditioning. Perhaps it’s just only Glasgow location that you can’t use the air conditioning.

The staff at the Moxy/Glasgow in Merchant City are absolutely phenomenal. They went way beyond expectations at every turn, in service and in kindness. The hotel and room were clean and well-kept, and the energy downstairs in the lobby/bar area is just amazing. I can't overstate how positive my stay was!

We had decided to spend a night and two days in Glasgow with our kids, 4 and 7 years. I had come across Moxy and it looked really good as a family option, with lots of colours and great set up for families. They had a room for families with a slightly separate sleeping area for the kids. The team were welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. The bar and lounge area works perfectly for relaxing or working. Good selection of drinks, with a limited food menu, but good enough for a relaxed meal. The breakfast worked well as a buffet and good selection of cold and hot food. The hotel is in a great location, George Sq only about 10min walk away. After check out we were able to leave our luggage securely in their lockers for free. Highly recommended for a City visit for a couple of nights and make sure you take time to visit some of the local impressive murials that are nearby. A big thanks to the team for making us feel welcome throughout the stay.

Great one night stay in this hotel in an accessible and walkable part of Glasgow. We loved the hotel's aesthetic and the check-in being part of the bar! We found the "Family Sleeper" room to be perfect for three adults; the beds were comfortable and separated into two different nooks for space and privacy. The hotel is definitely geared towards younger travelers. Would definitely stay again.

The staff at the Moxy was incredibly friendly and accommodating and I can not speak highly enough about them! They went out of their way to work with me to ensure that not only were my needs met, but that they were surpassed! The room was quite comfortable and the accommodations overall were warm and inviting. The location was also very convenient and was perfect for everywhere we went and all we wanted to do!

Very contemporary hotel, with great pop decor. The rooms are a bit small but clean and with all the necessary amenities.

Very nice, enthusiastic and helpful staff! Rooms are clean and the beds are good. Situated on a 10 min walk from the necropolis and the cathedral and 15 mins from George square.

Moxy is Marriot's youthful 'experiential' brand so it may be a bit different from hotels you've stayed at before. Personally, I love staying at a Moxy hotel. First of all, the rooms are stylish but not 'traditional' so don't expect outdated items like a trouser press or telephone in the room. It has everything the modern traveller needs: comfy bed, hospitality tray, TV, toiletries, hairdryer, WIFI, aircon and is very clean. Secondly, there is no reception. You check in at the bar where all guest receive a welcome drink (a sort of fruit punch) which is a nice touch (albeit a little sweet for my tastes). Bar food is available until quite late and consists of light bites such as pizza board and nachos which were reasonably priced and very tasty. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel as there were cafes nearby that better suited my needs. Despite the central location, I had a very good night's sleep. The bar is the main contact point for any staff and is the centre of the ground floor communal space which had several nooks and crannies and is staged in a very 'Instagrammable' way (it is designed with Gen X in mind!). Glasgow didn't have as many communal spaces as other Moxy hotels I've stayed at but the welcome was warm. It is situated a 10 min walk from Queen Street Station or just a minute from High Street station in a bustling studenty area. There is an Aldi and a Spar very close by (and you can use the microwave in the hotel's communal area). There is some outside space although I'm not sure I'd want to sit outside beside a main thoroughfare, which seems to be semi public and used as a shortcut by students and workers. In summary, if you are looking for a traditional hotel, this is not for you. If you are looking for somewhere in central Glasgow that is clean, functional and a bit quirky - especially if you are travelling with young people who enjoy taking selfies - then Moxy Glasgow Merchant City is probably a good fit.

Great hotel! Very quiet room with comfortable beds and pillows. Great WIFI. TV has easy QR scan code to watch apps from your phone like Netflix and YouTube. Shower very good. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is very good with buffet eggs, sausage, bacon, pastries and cereals and fruit. Great coffee machine. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the staff at the Moxy for a very relaxing stay. 🙂

Good hotel. Stayed 1 night, I remember leaving my T shirt down the side of the bed, rushing about in the morning, as I was driving home (4 hour drive) didn’t check the side of the bed… my hope I called the hotel. In their response they’re said they would look. I was awaiting a call back that never happened. I called and they said nothing was there. I bet my T shirt is down the side of the bed where u left it. Or has it been thrown away…. Who knows all I know is I have left a T shirt T that means a lot to me that’s magically disappeared.

Rooms area a little small but OK for one person tight squeeze if two of you in a twin room. Funky place clean tidy and comfortable so can't complain. I've stayed on better but stayed in far far worse. Overall I'd stay again 👍

A bit further away than usual, near Merchant City. Student area. Funky design, very comfortable and warm twin room. Compact, very clean, tea and coffee kettle provided, great value. Large lounge, bar/ reception area for relaxing.

We stayed here for 4 nights and were really pleased. Only con is they have a detergent smelling a lot. Friendly staff and easy to get a meal when you're too tired to go out. Lobby is really nice with pool table and fussball!

Very friendly staff and nice room with many services. Really like the concept of this hotel. There isn’t a big desk in the room so if you need to work with laptop you can go in the lobby which is an open space with the bar, billiard table and other facilities

This place has so much character!!!! My friend and I really loved it. Also if you are visiting Glasgow it's a short walk to basically everything you'd want to do!!! The bathroom had a light moldy smell but that happens. The shampoo and conditioner was amazing though! My hair felt amazing.

Please get a proper resolution by replying here! Short story is that I arrived on 13April2022 and got room 102. After I saw that is 17 C and not getting up, I asked for help and staff decided to change the room to 232 telling me that there is warm. I tried to call so many times to have this issue resolved but managed to reach staff only one time and they mentioned that were too busy to answer-so I got downstairs. It was no phone in the hotel room to reach them, so I was using my mobile with a number from the google map. In room 232 was cold again(19C) so got to get downstairs again and they told me that is getting warm if I start air conditioning…but actually was getting colder. Went back downstairs and they said that is a problem in all hotel with the heating system and they don’t have any heaters for me. They went to check temperature in the hotel rooms to find a warmer room, so I waited till they said room 316 has “room temperature” and that they are sorry but that’s all they can do as the AC in the hotel are s not working and will be fixed…was 19C all night…this is what I got after traveling about 6 hours in this wet weather and expecting a warm room. I am reaching you first to have this situation prevented and to please reimburse my money! I would have move out if it was not past 22:00 hours. Please see what I found during my 10 minutes in room 232 as fire and electrocution risks(gum to keep the plastic cover up on a power socket and hairdryer with faulty rotor -seems I can’t upload this video)..I am sorry but this is wrong. As I escalated with a complaint to Marriott Bonvoy, I found out that the AC system they use is working either as heating or cooling…and was set on cooling as is done automatically depending on the last week average temperatures…strange way of keeping the guests warm during the cold days.

I enjoyed my stay. Distinctive and different from other Marriott brands. Casual and funky. Room is comfortable even though I wish they had a dresser of drawers. Everything else was fine.

Pretty nice cozy hotel. Didn't know it was that busy. The common areas are really nice, staff members really helpful and cleaning service extraordinary. Stayed for 3 nights and loved it. Bathroom is spotless and the bed is very comfy. Didn't have the time to try out the free welcome cocktail but I'd love to get it another time hahaha thank you!

A beautiful venue to visit, the the bar downstairs which doubles as the reception is wonderfully decorated with many places to sit and relax, and the staff are mostly friendly. The rooms are cleaned daily, unless you're in them of course, and the location is stellar, right next to a train station for longer transport, but 10 minutes walk away from the main streets and a 5 minute walk away from the cathedral and necropolis, as well as some of the most beautiful street art murals you'll see. It was the right choice.

Nice hotel with a nice staff. It is just a few minutes from Queen Station, the Cathedral and some very good restaurants. This is NOT hotel for business travellers. There are no desk in the room, no printing available (email to front desk). Do NOT expect anything special because if your Marriott status. No free breakfast, no upgrades.
