Terrible hospital! Nothing but a vanity project! Difficult to access from the motorway (for which it sits next to). Completely impractical layout! Whoever designed this place obviously never actually spoke to the doctors and nurses that will be using it. Partner has sepsis a couple years ago and was running a 40degree fever! She was placed in the burns ward due to overcrowding. It was 30 degrees in the room as the Aircon wasn't working and windows do not open! Had to purchase a Dyson fan with my own money for her room (I wasn't allowed to bring in a cheaper alternative! Had to be Dyson). Honestly the hospital is a terrible place.

Over 3 years ago my Dad was in Langlands building. I observed staff constantly. They don't care, it's like an inconvenience to them. Can name 2 who were less caring Derek and Sally. Today was taking friend up to visit, and who was there but less caring nurse Sally. Ward 55. They show caring side when visitors in

Fantastic Neurologists - best in the world. Staff extremely nice, but not enough qualified nurses on a ward. I really felt for them! Waited over an hour to change a saline bag because only a qualified nurse can do it, 5 other nurses walked in and out and hadn't been shown how to do it, so refused to change the bag. Training and Processes need to change in order to be more efficient and save time. I agree with nurses, too many middle management - what do they actually do!!! I do despair with the Management in hospitals, I am sure it could be much better organised.

Doctors are good and kind and that's the most important, also every specialist are very good at the job, but lord the nurses are the Worst ever. Not a smile in 48h , not a penny of compassion or kindness, They were only rude and disrespectful all the time, except for a very few of course ! A nurse need to be caring and caring, they are not, my partner stayed there for 2 days and they didn't even changed his sheets ( full of blood and other matter ) a shame

My brother went up to A&E here today after lying ill for days, he has a really bad infection in the mouth that has been going on for weeks. Spoke to the dentist about it who said he should just continue to take antibiotics, however he has now been on antibiotics for 2-3 weeks and they are NOT helping and he is getting worse, he can barely stand without and is confused with a really high temperature. The dentist also refused to refer him to the Dental hospital. The female nurse he spoke to was just outright rude to him, no time for him whatsoever and when he spoke to the male nurse and said he was worrying about sepsis through the infection he was told that he doesn't have sepsis (without doing tests) and was told if he does get sepsis to come back to the hospital. Some of these nurses are completely negligent and unable to speak with any human decency, their attitude stinks, I know they recieve abuse from certain patients and I feel bad for them however that does not give them the right to treat every patient like they are subhuman. I am a firm believer in reaping what you sow.

Saved my life twice!!!! Almost a year to the date of the first time in hospital. First time I was in High Dependency Unit for 7 days, the staff were absolutely amazing!!!! Was admitted with a life threatening bleed. Very professional, fantastic service!!! Second time a year later was also life threatening, I was attended to by first responders, and found me in my car unconscious. Very professional, was taken by blue light and siren, to A&E . Spent the night in A&E everyone member of staff were absolutely brilliant. Apart from a male member of staff in A&E, who shouted , โ€œdonโ€™t give her in bay ( I canโ€™t remember which number of bay I was in) โ€œDonโ€™t give her anymore liquids, as she has already made a mess!!! I had been sick over the floor. I really didnโ€™t have any energy to reply, as I am sure they are used to other liquids ending up on the floor in A&E. Thank you NHS Staff We donโ€™t know how lucky we are to have you.

I was an emergency admission on Easter Monday with some heart issues. The doctors and nurses in Resus A&E were fantastic showing me a great level of care , whilst battling with a large number of admissions. I was moved on to acute recovery unit 1 , where again i was given a high level of care and attention from all the team. My thanks to all involved for doing amazing work in extremely difficult circumstances

Yesterday, I was very sick and had a lot of pain in a sensitive area of โ€‹โ€‹my body. I called 111 and they referred me to Queens Elizabeth Guven Hospital. I arrived at five in the evening and recorded my statements and waited 14 hours and I was in pain and waiting for my turn, but unfortunately the nurses did not like my appearance or my problem after the time. Their legs to take me to the doctor I am tired of waiting, me and my friend, and unfortunately the nurses are the ones who choose to enter I wasted my night waiting and did not enter the doctor I complained to all the workers I am tired of waiting, they tell me to go and complain to Parliament Unfortunately, you did not deserve appreciation and respect because you will not practice your work in the politeness of the profession. The medical team present yesterday 12/11

I was admitted into A&E and had an overnight stay here. The doctor the next morning asked if I wanted surgery, when I said no I was swiftly discharged. I did have follow up appointments with nurses for several weeks. The nurses are caring and brilliant!

Stayed overnight at the maternity ward and I've got to say I am extremely disappointed and disappointed with the service I received. I was in so much pain and all they could give me was paracetamol, I mean if they weren't going to give me anything stronger for the pain ,there was absolutely no need for me to stay in the hospital when I could have went back home and slept in my own bed. Each time I asked for any help, I was completely ignored. As if this wasn't enough I was admitted to a small ward that had 4beds including mine. I was with my partner and so was the other 3 pregnant ladies who had their partners too. Surprisingly, my partner was asked to leave because of "hospital policy" and yet the other couples spent the night. This is utterly appalling, why have different set of rules for different people. I'm not sure if I was just unlucky with the midwives or if they were just pure racists. Either way, I felt isolated, neglected and very lonely. No-one should ever have to feel like this especially if you're heavily pregnant and just need a bit of help/ support.

Completely understood how busy the hospital was. However, when I asked 3 people where the bathroom was and waited 1.5 hours in a wheelchair ready to urinate on myself. Luckily my mother was able to find the bathroom. Then was told I should โ€œbe lucky to be in a roomโ€ Yet when I was raised my concerns to a nurse she was extremely rude and loud with me. Not taking into consideration my health condition. The nurse proceeded to tell me itโ€™s first come first serve yet I seen everyone who was in the waiting room come and go. No compassion, no staff, no help, told different things. They need a refresher course, every receptionist. Do not recommend, avoid if can. Nurses love to blame lack of staff etc. but in my opinion, itโ€™s lack of motivation for their job.

Thankfully just visiting. Far too much signage, very confusing. I'll bring the map and the compass next time. On plus side good staff, public transport accessible and free parking. Several shops including WHSmith, Marks and Spencer and a few eateries although all over priced.

We waited for more than 5 hours in emergency while my mother was constantly shivering and vomiting. Extremely slow services. Some of the junior doctors still need training on how to deal with patients in emergency. While being told she's in risk of coma, the doctor spent a long time on unnecessary communication and even was distracted by his phone. I literally couldn't keep my face straight to listen to him anymore due to tiredness and also being super nervous about my mom's condition. More senior doctors communicated shortly and effectively. The services after that was very good, but answering was extremely slow. We had to wait for a few hours and ask staff several times about the next, to realise that the doctor has actually released us to go home a few hours ago!

Delivery midwives and doctors were great but post natal care was understaffed. They suggested we stay in longer for more breastfeeding support but we didnโ€™t feel supported or even helped. Found it impossible to sleep without help caring for the newborn and partners sent home except 5 hours a day, not made to feel welcome even though we were no trouble to anyone just helping care for baby.

Itโ€™s a hot mess. The ARU system does not work. My brother and mother waited upwards of 2 days waiting on a bed. No tests were done. Itโ€™s a miracle either survived. Itโ€™s not the staffs fault but at some point they will have to same enough is enough because no one is listening to the peasants. The excess deaths must be through the roof. Mia managed at the highest level.

The adult A&E receptionists were unpleasant and made me wait 2 hours before I saw my son who had a medical emergency. Was not impressed with the services and the others gained access to see their family and we had to wait. However, lovely doctors and nurses inside who took care of him.

Friendly staff and good care. Little concerning I had to keep telling medical staff what I'd already been checked for, as some didn't know. Not sure what was going on with my notes ๐Ÿ˜•

Too big! Signage for drivers is poor entering the site and throughout. Access to parking is poor. Internally, the Hospital Complex signage is again poor. Patient/Visitor Information & Signage generally is poor. Image(s) ยฉ David T Brown: Queen Elizabeth Royal Hospital for Children

Many thanks to all the medical staff at QEUH for their kindness and professional care, especially those in A&E, the acute receiving ward 3 and ward 51 in the Langlands building. Our mum was treated with kindness and compassion, despite the staff being stretched in many directions. A special shout out to all the support staff: porters, cleaners, meals service who work tirelessly to keep everything running smoothly. We are so grateful. Thank you

My husband was recently seriously ill and required a three week+ stay in Ward 4A. I would like to say publicly that he could not have had better care. All of the staff from the Consultants, Doctors, Nurses, Health care staff, and other auxiliary and support staff were amazing. He received top class care from everyone and nothing was too much trouble for this dedicated team of professionals, thank you so much for caring for him so well and nursing him back to health. Our NHS is amazing and it owes it's success to the quality of care these individuals give, they are truly superheroes! I would love to list their names for special thanks but I'm sure I'd miss someone out, so thank you ... you know who you are and our family are so grateful to you all.

Parking is always a problem. Best to park in the car parks as nearly all the outdoor parking is for staff. There's staff to help you on entering the hospital besides the reception desk. My sin problem is the number of times some of the lifts aren't working. Very spacious inside with places to buy food & other items. Patients rooms are spacious. The only issue is the lack of chairs for visitors. The hospital is very clean which you would expect as it's relatively new.

Had to go to A&E today. Saturday but I was seen within 10.minutes and immediately x-rayed. Saw an on-call doctor within 5.min who was amazing..looked at my notes and picked up on the previous surgery. Excellent at explaining everything..asked me what questions I needed to ask. Whole thing done in 20 minutes. Super impressed. First class fast treatment NHS. Thank you so much! 10/10

Your Review: Ward 11c queen Elizabeth Glasgow my husband was admitted on Wednesday in severe pain . The team were fabulous, great communication, easy going and person centred. Care was outstanding from team even with staffing at no time did this interfere with any care . All levels of team worked well together and made my husband stay comfortable as he was unsure of his surroundings . Staff maintained his dignity engaging with him making him feel at ease . Fluids and meals offered and supported with . He was only in overnight great care delivered from admission to discharge . I have been in here for a pretty bad broken arm, was kept in for 5 days and all staff from nurses to cleaner's were amazing except for one head nurse who hated giving me pain meds when I woke up screaming with pain kept saying you're not due any meds yet, well tell that to my pain. Apart from her a spotless and fantastic hospital. Same when I had gallbladder out amazing care from nurses thank you

Majority of the staff are rude and have no compassion the place is dirty they are supposed to have a duty of care and clearly don't! Plus all these head nurses on charge in the wards are all miserable ar**hol*s who don't show any sympathy for patients

Was treated as an acute patient by the Urology team and received first class care, room was clean and staff on Ward 11C were very caring. Iโ€™m very grateful for their professional attitude and what appears to be a successful outcome of surgery.

Start with a negative, the parking is absolutely shocking, thereโ€™s lots of it but seems to be always full. The entire hospital is short staffed and puts far to much pressure on the staff that are there, I personally think itโ€™s disgusting that the hospital is resorted to getting agency staff that quite often refuse to do jobs that the permanent staff do daily for less wageโ€ฆ Edit: I have changed my review unfortunately as I donโ€™t feel like my Nan has been receiving good enough care in her last days, although the majority of staff are brilliant and I have therefore left my comment below, it is an absolute disgrace how long things take which has left my Nan being uncomfortable and often in pain for far to long, much of this could be resolved by just having more staff so the great staff you do have donโ€™t struggle to do the jobs they clearly really want to do and for the most part are great at. Original review : My Nan is currently on ward 51, and the staff there have been outstanding, although clearly overworked they have been very caring and helpful and generally in high spirits, there have been a number of students we have had contact with all of which have been outstanding, I donโ€™t know their official title however Susan and Jannette along with the majority of staff are amazing, made myself and my mum feel very at ease in an unpleasant situation, the doctors although stretched VERY thin have also all been great and although all introduced themselves professionally I have lost track of their names. Get the vacancies filled, sort the parking out, get rid of those people on the road with the signs and make the amazing staff at this hospital feel looked after and listened to.

I have to express enormous gratitude for my care by paramedics, doctors on scene and a&e last night. I dislocated my hip while waiting for my friend at Eastwood Health Centre. I had to call a&e, for some reason the gps there were unwilling to help at all. The call I made was listened to by a senior member of staff who called me back and upgraded my call out. Very quickly drs attended with paramedics and administered morphine which enabled me to get on the stretcher. I was taken straight into resus where the staff were also all so kind to me. My hip was manipulated back into place and I was allowed home last night. I was overwhelmed at the amazing care that I received. People are great at complaining and not so good at leaving good reviews so I wanted to say an enormous thank you. Valerie Ness

Difficult to find parking space. If disabled, park on Level 1 of either car park 1 or 2. You can then phone for golf cart driver to come pick you up to take to main door then bring you a wheelchair to get to appointment. Driver is very helpful.

๐Ÿซค How can a buzzer from a patient buzz for ten minutes and three members of nursing staff completely ignore it???? I am utterly disgusted at the lack of attention and bed side manner from the staff here. I feel sad for the patients who are unable to speak up for themselves.
