I had a visit a few days ago for LASIK check up. The staff are very helpful, professional and friendly. There was a little discrepancy between my lenses and prescription, which they kindly double-checked my lenses and find my prescription for the second time just to make sure everything is correct, which I really appreciated. They also use automated machines to figure out your prescription which is amazing, fast and because you can try going back and fort between different lenses you can very quickly nail it and be totally confident that you have exhausted the process and tested all options. Every optometrist need to invest on one of these, I would go back there just for my eye test if I could :) At the end of the examination I was told if I was suitable for surgery, which was great; shame the prices are very high for such a simple process (at list for my prescription) otherwise I would have been writing this without my glasses now :) I will definitely visit them in the future when I'm finally ready to ditch the specs.

I recently had Laser eye surgery at Optical Express St Vincent Street. The whole process was extremely straight forward and all the staff were very welcoming and were happy to answer any questions I had. I was very nervous before going for the surgery and all the staff were excellent in reassuring me and making me feel relaxed and relieving that pressure I had. In particular Charlie was excellent in explaining the post operation stages and taking me through each step carefully. He really is an asset to your team and did an excellent job in calming me down just before the procedure. I had an excellent experience and the results are even better than anticipated. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

I recently had laser eye surgery here and the procedure was a success from start to finish. I felt well looked after and well informed by the staff who explained the entire procedure and aftercare. The surgery on the day was very quick and that evening i could already see a huge difference in my vision. The following day i had my check up and my vision is now 2 lines better than 20/20. I'm honestly amazed at the outcome and cannot recommend it enough. It really is life changing. Thank you Optical Express!

Best decision ever, what an amazing investment! So, I am 36 years old and have worn glasses since the age of 11. My prescription was R -5.75 and L -5.25 with astigmatism. So I could not function without glasses or contact lenses. The consultation was extremely thorough. I was well examined to check I was a suitable canditate, and the amount of examination and tests done on my eyes gave me great confidence before deciding to book the surgery. The surgery type I received was LASIK Intralase iDesign. iDesign technology came out in 2015 and improves the accuracy of the prescription down to 0.01 Dioptres, where as glasses and contacts only go to 0.25 Dioptres on the prescription. https://www.opticalexpress.co.uk/magazine/article/the-wonderful-world-of-idesign On the day or the surgery I was at the clinic for around 2 hours. My eyes were tested again, and the iDesign machine was also used again which devises the treatment plan. The surgery itself was very quick, from creating the flap in the cornea using the Intralase machine to then getting my eyes lasered with the Excimer laser was probably less than 10 minutes. The actual lasering itself was only about 20 seconds on each eye. After I got up from the surgery bed, I could see the same as if I was wearing contact lenses, my vision was already pretty decent at this stage. (just before surgery I took paracetomol and Ibuprofen I recommend you do too) I then went home and lay down, and kept my eyes closed for about 2 hours, I was unable to sleep. My eyes were a bit sore, just mild discomfort, and streaming with tears. It was difficult to keep them open. At around the 5 hour mark after surgery my vision was better again, and there was no pain, and my eyes were not watering anymore, so I watched a bit of TV. I then put the prescribed drops in and went to bed (antibiotic, steroid and artificial tear drops) When I woke up in the morning I put the drops in again (4 times per day for 1 week) and immediately my vision was amazing. I can now see in high fidelity 4k without glasses. It's quite unreal. I had my follow up appointment the next day and my vision was better than 20/20 (it's 20/15) and the cornea flap was healing perfectly. I can see at 20 ft which most people can only see at 15 ft. I could not be happier with the results, it really is a life changing and incredible experience. I walked home from the clinic to the Southside and I was in awe at how good I could see Highly recomment Optical Express at 200 SVS for anyone on the fence about laser eye surgery My surgery was carried out by Dr David Teenan who is considered to be Scotlands most experienced surgeon for vision correction https://www.opticalexpress.co.uk/about/surgeons/david-teenan Thank you to Dr David Teenan and all the lovely staff and Optical Express Glasgow, you have changed my life

Extremely happy. Had my cataract surgery two days ago and my vision has already improved dramatically and continues so to do. Whole process, from first consultation through to the actual operation (and aftercare) were handled with complete professionalism. Always felt as if I was being treated as an individual by the team at Optical Express in Glasgow. In terms of cost I had done some research and as well as being the largest provider of cataract surgery in the UK they appeared to be the most competitive cost wise (I may have missed some providers but I checked a few). All the way through I was kept informed of what was occurring, through all the initial examinations and the actual procedure itself. Staff were all friendly, welcoming and professional. No issue in recommending.

Everything during the pre op, operation and recovery was as explained by the staff and in the literature. This was very reassuring and helped allay any anxiety. Staff were very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend lens surgery for anyone with cataracts. It was a quick, straightforward and pain free procedure. I only waited 14 days from initial consultation to the date of operation, which was fantastic. A superb service that has hugely improved my sight Date of experience: December 14, 2022

Wow I could see my computer screen clearly without any spexs 4 days after getting bilateral multifocal lens replacement. My sister-in-law also got bilateral Eyehance monofocal lens replacement on 19th January in SVS. After our 1 day post op we both could read a restaurant menu and see clearly everything across the street - absolutely amazing! From the intial consult to the one week post op the full team were so professional, friendly, reassuring and helpful and a special mention to Jack the PA, Ross the optician, Liz n Ben in the surgery team, David the ophthalmologist and Kerry who made sure we both got safely to our transport. The surgery was very quick and painless. We both would fully recommend surgery to anyone considering it.

I went to Glasgow for the surgery to remove my cataracts in both eyes. Before the actual surgery day I attended for special scans due to the advancement of the cataracts. The visit was very pleasant and the staff were professional and friendly throughout. I had my surgery for the first eye on the Monday and the second one done on the Tuesday. From arriving at the clinic and throughout the visit any member of staff I dealt with could not be nicer. The anaesthetist and surgeon spoke to me before each operation and answered any questions as well as helping me relax. During and after each surgery I never experienced any pain or discomfort at all. I did not have to take painkillers and when the dressing could be removed my eyesight was vastly improved immediately. The improvement was amazing and I can’t thank everyone enough for their fantastic service. My only regret is that I didn’t go for the surgery earlier instead of waiting for months on NHS waiting list with no sign of having it done. Just before my surgery my eyesight was so bad that I could not see the ground being uneven, fell, broke my wrist and hurt my foot and ankle. Four weeks on and my check up shows my distance eyesight is great and I no longer require glasses. I only require basic reading glasses bought in a chemist etc but was always aware that this would be the case. I could not be more delighted in the outcome. I would not hesitate to recommend Glasgow for the procedure.

I had the op one month ago removing cataracts in both eyes plus corrective lenses inserted. The op was fully successful taking 8 mins each eye and 3 weeks to heal completely. The service was professional, quick and well paced. Highly recommendable. Great to be driving with confidence again and to be doing outdoor activities with 20/20 vision restored. So worth it!

I had Lasik surgery on 14-03-22 The procedure was very quick and I was comfortable through out. Checks were done in advance and on the day. My vision is amazing now. Better than it even was with glasses before. After I got home on the day, I had a nap, and when I woke up I could see properly! The after care is amazing and you can speak to someone any time that you have a question too. Would definitely recommend optical express for the happy, comfortable service ❤

This team are amazing! I got LASIK eye design, laser surgery and can't believe the super fast results. The procedure itself was slightly uncomfortable and the few hours after along with sunlight sensitivity but after approx. 4 hours of rest. Felt back to my normal self. The staff are so lovely and the surgery is a nice, calm atmosphere. They can't so enough for you. If you're on the fence, do it!

Had laser eye surgery exactly one year ago. Today I had the year review and my eyesight is above 20/20. It was the best decision I've made so far, I am 100% satisfied. Team is fantastic, level of care is above standard and the place is clean and tidy.

Went for an appointment at Optical Express and the experience was very professional. They did a number of tests with state of the art equipment to establish suitability for later eye surgery or lens replacement. Never went ahead so cannot comment on the process but the service was first class. I was looked after by a consultant called Erin who I would like to single out for particular praise. She was excellent.

I had lens replacement surgery to correct both distance and near vision after wearing contact lenses and glasses for over 30 years and more recently having to depend on reading glasses too. My experience with optical express in St Vincent Street Glasgow has been amazing from start to finish. All staff are lovely and friendly and made me feel at ease before, during and after my surgery, I can’t fault my care. I now have better than 20/20 vision and can read print smaller than newspaper size print, changed my life and the best thing I have ever done, just wish I had done it years ago.

After toying with the the idea of having my eyes done for a number of years now, l finally decided to bite the bullet and go for it. After a nervous trip up to Glasgow, l went in for my Lens replacement surgery feeling quite scared and apprehensive. All the staff at Optical Express were fabulous from start to finish, they were kind, friendly, very professional and put my mind (and nerves) at ease instantly. The surgery itself took roughly 10 minutes per eye, the surgeon talked me through what was happening and how it was going. All in all, l was in and out, ready to leave within 1.5 hours. The surgery was laidback, quick and painless. Afterwards, my sight was blurry and my eyes slightly grainy and watery but not in any way painful. I slept for a couple of hours following the procedure and woke to find my sight instantly better. In the days following my procedure my eyes have just got better and better. I cannot thank everyone at Optical Express enough. Wonderful staff, lovely location and immaculately clean throughout. If anyone is considering this surgery, please do not delay. Its life changing. The gift of sight is magical. Many thanks Helen Walker.

Excellent treatment from start to finish. All staff, receptionists to surgeons very professional, caring and attentive creating a very relaxed and calming atmosphere. On my visits I never waited more than ten minutes to be seen and mostly much less than this. With this level of service and the provision of 1 year after care the whole package was excellent and I will be happy to refer my friend to Optical Express.

Positive experience so far. Staff have been very friendly and helpful from the first appointment. Op for both eyes lasted 20 minutes - approx 5/6 minutes per eye(break between each eye) and was painless. 4 weeks after now and don't need glasses at all. Would recommend.

My eyesight became an issue around the age of 45 and from then on I became increasingly dependent on glasses for reading. By the age of 51 I couldn’t read anything resembling normal text without them. I tried contact lenses but didn’t find they gave me clear vision and I really struggled to get them out. I decided surgery was definitely something I wanted to explore. My husband was very wary of the procedure and the process of finding a reputable company in whom to entrust my vision. I convinced him to come with me to my appointment at Optical Express in Edinburgh for the initial consultation. The staff in Edinburgh were amazing. They were very welcoming and subjected me to the most thorough eye examination, using state of the art machinery. I had gone armed with lots of questions (and my husband and all his doubts). The staff were able to answer them all. Of course there are risks, like there are with any surgical procedure, but I left my appointment confident in their ability to carry out lense replacement on both eyes. My surgery was around a month later. I opted to have the surgery in Glasgow, only because it’s equidistant from home and the availability suited. The staff and facilities in Glasgow were excellent too. I met the surgeon before the op and he explained what he was going to do, all of which I’d had fully explained by the staff previously. The op itself was relatively short, I was out of theatre, both eyes done in around half an hour. The procedure wasn’t painful at all, I would say it was a bit uncomfortable but mostly down to the thought of what was happening. The staff in the theatre talk to you throughout to make sure you’re ok. I felt very well looked after. Post surgery I went home to rest. As expected my eyes were very sensitive and streaming for the first few hours. By the end of the day they felt much better and I was able to watch a bit of TV. The following day I had my follow up appointment back in Edinburgh (my choice). I was amazed that even from day one I had 20/20 vision. I’m now 5 weeks post surgery. I haven’t needed glasses at all. My trifocal lenses have noticeably improved my distance vision despite the fact I didn’t wear glasses for distance. The most notable difference for me is the fact that I’m no longer beholden to my glasses. I’ve managed to thread a needle despite the fact that they were very open and said I may still need a little pair of +1’s for very small text and fine work etc. I know it’s a cliche but I really do wish I had done it sooner and I can’t recommend Optical Express highly enough. I have nothing but positive things to say about every member of staff I met and my outcome so far is better than I could have imagined.

Every member of staff, from the initial call to the optometrist discharging me post surgery were friendly, patient and professional. My eyesight is so amazing now, I wish I had had the surgery years ago. I'd thoroughly recommend Optical Express, Glasgow

I was really impressed with the staff, the environment, and the very thorough process when I attended OpticalExpress for an assessment for lens surgery. Jack (PA) has excellent customer service skills and a friendly manner. Optometrist Lisa was very thorough and explained the options open to me clearly.

Everyone I encountered at Optical Express was exteremly professional and helpful. My procedure was for lens replacement due to cataracts. Given the time I would have had to wait for NHS treatment, Optical Express were an excellent choice to have it done immediately. The premises in Glasgow are very welcoming and comfortable. Just what you need to relax any nerves. Everything was fully explained in easy to understand language. And the results are simply phenominal. I have now got my sight back to where it was 30 years ago, if not better. I am glad I did not wait as the difference to my quality of life is dramatic. I would highly recommend the procedure (which was easier and more straightforward than I thought) and Optical Express themselves.

Got laser eye surgery couple of years ago after wearing monthly contact lenses for 15 year no issues apart from getting a bit dry eyes when they needed changed. Got laser eyes surgery amazing ! can see just the same as my contact lenses but the dry eyes I now get every night weakening up putting eye drops in through the night is a nightmare my year after care was running out so went to see them and explain and I got sent home with more eye drops so was pretty disappointed that’s all they could do. I’m typing this through the night as I woke up to put more drops in. And what I I also found when they done the surveys after surgery it’s pretty soon after it where you’re still amazed that you can see without any other aid, other than that staff where really nice . Would I recommend ? I would if you’ve got issues where you can’t wear contacts or they give you grief where as I have more issues now than I did wearing contact lenses hopefully when my eye sight deteriorates again so does the dry eyes.

5 star. Can’t fault the team at optical express one bit. Dealt with Robert Morton and he was excellent from start to finish! (Highly recommend!) I felt really welcome & was always put at ease. Great experience dealing with Optical Express, from the initial booking of the appointment, to the applicability screening right through to getting the lens replacement procedure done plus post op care. Everyone is so friendly and professional. I’ve just had my 1 month check up and I’ve got better than 20/20 vision for driving and can easily read small print! Not wearing glasses for reading, work and driving has made a massive difference to my life. The results are far better than I could have imagined - I wish I’d done it years ago! I’d highly recommend!

An extremely professional service right from the consultation. I now have better than 20/20 vision and have been discharged after my one month post surgery check. I just had my lens replacement surgery done at Glasgow and I now have excellent vision without glasses. It was done very quickly with no pain at all just amazing. I did not honestly expect the treatment and civility my wife and I both received. The staff were the best we have ever experienced. Pleasant, caring, attentive, civil. There are no more words I could use to express my personal gratitude and thanks to ALL the staff including the girls who carried tea and coffee to us during our little waiting time. The surgeon was brilliant and explained everything. No pain was experienced at any time I can only say thank you to everyone involved.

My ‘overall’ experience and aftercare with Optical Express has been great. The staff members are all very caring and attentive. I would highly recommend having laser eye surgery here. Dr Teenan carried out my surgery with great care and precision, it was over within a matter of minutes, a hidden gem within Optical Express ? Update: Jan 2020 I was called back in for another minor correction surgery as they want you to have the best results. As always, ‘all’ the staff members were absolutely fantastic from Zuzanna/Evelyn/Chris/Dr Teenan (the only names that come to mind just now, please ‘other staff members’ do forgive). Second surgery went perfectly well, less pain during recovery. So far so good, I was hoping Clark Kent vision, I must say not far off : ) I would rate the place, surgery, staff, and above all their ‘patience’ as I never made my appointments on time and they always smiled me in, a decent 10/10.

Great Experience overall at first the cost seemed to high and they managed to bring it down for me and that was really good thing to see and the operation happened really quickly , stressful but mostly because you see it but it’s not painful at all and healing was also very good as after 7 or so hours I could see pretty good and after a week it was fully healed after getting all the eye drops done. The after care has been great as well and I’m fully satisfied with the choice I made , and I appreciate more and more every day

This is a lovely clinic with very experienced and caring staff. The treatment I had, multifocal lens replacement in both eyes is fantastic. The staff all take the time to chat which puts you at ease throughout and the procedure was so quick and pain free. As soon as I took my eye guards off I could see small print and that is not an exaggeration. It was unbelievable and my sight continues to get better. Went here for surgery about 10 years ago and was left with life changing damage to my eyes, untold amount of suffering and sleepless nights, that have tried many frightening corrective surgeries, flying me over from Ireland to the London Harley Street and then on to a specialist. Now I have to wear specialist contact lenses they have been supplying and have some sort of vision back... after quite a rude encounter on a trip to Glasgow, Surgeon (name and address retdacted) MY actions were blamed for this happening and no regard to my mental health was even a factor and now I NEED to bring a witness with me to all consultations of which there have been many. So after waiting 7 weeks after requesting some new lenses I have yet to get a confirmation. Get those lenses i have to constantly pester you for to me by the end of today would you please.

Really good service and quality of care. One eye was slightly more inflamed than the other so still waiting for it to come down 1wk post surgery. Will hopefully give both eyes a similar prescription once it heals but if not they have already said they will consider corrective surgery. The procedure took a total of 3/4mins and has made a massive difference. Most important thing is to stick to the aftercare stuff to promote healing

Having had laser eye surgery yesterday I can say I was so happy with how everything went. All staff were very friendly and knowledgeable from the consultation right through to the surgery and aftercare. I was feeling a bit apprehensive on the day but was made to feel at ease and everything was explained step by step. Nothing was too much. I did have discomfort for around 3hrs after the surgery which is to be expected, after this it got better and better. Having attended my first follow up appointment today my vision has been confirmed as better than 20/20 after 1 day and my recovery is progressing great with little discomfort now.

I had Lasik procedure at Glasgow clinic last week and found everything great, from consultation through to the day of surgery and aftercare. The surgical team were so friendly and made me feel relaxed, I knew in advance what would happen and the surgeon spoke through what he was doing. The actual procedure was over very quickly and painless and the anaesthetic worked for about 30 minutes after but wore off during my two hour train journey home. Although it had been described as a peeling onions feeling I felt more like someone had rubbed chilli in my eyes! Thankfully I had my Mum to accompany me as I had to keep my eyes closed as my eyes and nose watered for the next 2 hours or so. In hindsight I should have got a hotel near the clinic rather than travelled. After a day resting my eyes I went for a follow up appointment. My vision was amazing by this point, and I was seeing detail and colour like HD. My previous prescription was short sighted 1.75. The optometrist examined my eyes again and answered all my questions. It’s now been a week and the little red marks on the white of my eyes are almost away, my eyes feel almost back to normal just slightly dry, and I was given more lubricating drops for free. So pleased I had this done, wish I’d done so sooner.

Got artificial lenses yesterday 18/7/19 and I’m still baffled with how quick and easy it’s went. Some pain for a while afterwards but that passed and light sensitive but that has almost all passed already. Struggling to put into words how weird this is after wearing glasses for 35 yrs. get involved x

I had Laser Eye Surgery here only a few days ago and the result and overall experience has been amazing. Katie & Derrick carried out my consultation and it was very professional and informative. They let me know what my visual outcome would be and explained everything I needed to know about the procedure. I booked in for my treatment which was on Monday, and Dr Teenan and the laser surgery team were all very friendly and professional. They explained everything step by step and calmed my nerves. It was over so quickly and I am so impressed with the results. I had my post op the next day and everything is fine - i've had no pain, discomfort or any other symptoms. All the staff in SVS including the girls Erin & Zavanna have been great and supportive throughout and made me comfortable during all my appointments. Thanks to everyone in SVS, it has been life changing already!

Best service. All the staff are really friendly and make you feel relaxed. As for lens transplant I would highly recommend anyone to have treatment done, money well spent. Surgery is quick and pain free.

I had my eyes lasered at Optical Express a week ago. I was really nervous but all the staff were brilliant and put me at ease right away. I was in for a couple of hours and when I left, I could see without glasses! All of the staff were fantastic and looked after me during the whole process. A week on and my eyes are getting better every day. Would recommend going for a consultation and seeing how you could change your life.

Procedure was uncomfortable but lasted only half an hour. I believe most of the time it is even shorter.. around 15 mins. There was pain afterwards which died down after 4h. Take a sleeping tablet...its well worth a short period of discomfort. My vision is excellent and was great from the next day. Absolutely no regrets.

I had my Laser Eye surgery yesterday (Lasik with iDesign) and I am extremely happy with the results and service provided by Optical Express. I had my post op check up today and my vision is now 2 better than 20/20 vision. My surgery was carried out by Dr Teenan who did a fantastic job! Each step of the procedure was explained in detail and all staff did a great job to reassure me on the day. The procedure was approx 30 seconds each eye. If you are thinking about Laser Eye, i would 100% go for it! There is some slight discomfort lasting approx 4hrs or so after the surgery which is to be expected. This is only day 1 but waking up and being able to see this morning was amazing!
