🫤 The staff are nice, but the place is falling into disrepair. The equipment is old and much of it out of order for months. The condition of the changing rooms is embarrassing. Premium prices but poor quality: I gave up my membership after two years and wouldn't recommend it. People often mention staff, equipment, changing, pool, family, friendly, room, rooms, membership, years,

very disappointed from this gym, not a Virgin standard as use to be. shower floor always dirty and smelly. 2 showers broken, kids swimming pool closed, poor lighting, customer service with zero customer service. very expensive for what they offer.

I have been a member of Nuffield gym with since they took over from virgin active. I have always found the staff to be polite and helpful. But since I had my stroke last August I feel the staff have raised the game. Firstly Jamie froze my account until I was able to return in December where he and other managers check on my progress. When I arrive on a daily basis the reception staff are very willing to open the doors for me always greeting me with a welcome. The personal trainers have always encouraged me to use the correct equipment on the gym floor and constantly give me thumbs up when I am training. The Hygiene team are all friendly the gents and the ladies are asking how I am doing and encouraging me to do my exercises. The poolside staff also assist me with putting on my exercise floatation rings and are all willing and helpful. My progress is slow but I am getting there I have no doubt that this is partly to do with my perseverance but also the staff at Nuffield Glasgow West End a big part of my recovery too. Regards Graeme

Patrons park in parent and child and disabled spaces freely with no consequence. Shower rooms are old and grubby, need a refurb. The wooden seats which you sit on in changing rooms are warped and needed replaced pre covid. Baby pool has been closed for what feels an age. Gym equipment is also ageing. For what you pay per month, I think a refit it essential to keep new and retain current members.

Falling into ruin. This used to be a great gym, but after years of neglect and underinvestment, it's falling to bits. Where to begin? How about the perpetually broken machines (the cross-trainer on the upper mezzanine has been out of use for nearly THREE YEARS)? What about the DISGUSTING showers that smell of p*ss and worse (not to mention the loose tiles, mould, and the shower which has been out of order for months)? Perhaps the grafitti in the sauna? The lockers where half are missing the hooks? Then we have the persistent rules being broken by the "members" - management are well aware of the issues with those who park in the disabled and parent/child spaces who shouldn't be, but do nothing (everyone knows who these guys are, but nothing is said). Shaving in the sauna, spitting on the floor in the shower walk area. Too few staff on site, and none willing to all the behaviour out. This place will likely close down in 18 months. A shame, but probably for the best.

Good weights and pool, sauna, steam room. Very dated cardio equipment for the membership price.

I went to this club with my 7 years old child. They advertised this gym as family friendly one. Nevertheless, to my surprise, there is no family changing room. When we inquired about it, the management told us that we can either use disable toilets or my 7 years old can take shower with me in adult changing rooms, as they don't have family changing room. There is no signage for common curtesy in adult changing rooms and some people were walking totally nude that I have found it disrespectful. Our intention was to join as family. Regrettably, it will not happen. Just to make a comparison, films have age restriction, sport activities have age restrictions, ... why a so called family friendly gym (that isn't cheap) don't have family changing rooms. They certainly have space to accommodate it. Staff are polite and friendly and I understand that this is not within their power. I wouldn't recommend it to any family with younger children.

Really helpful staff at front desk and easy joining process. The major thing that lets it down is the old equipment! The alternate gyms in Glasgow (of which there are many, at a much cheaper price) have modern well maintained machines and free weight areas. Nuffield really needs to spend some money on upgrading the place and giving more of the same equipment as iv found myself waiting for areas to become free.

Visited the Nuffield health Minerva gym and pool today with my family and it was fantastic. The classes were truly good (thanks Abby for two great workouts) and the gym staff super friendly and knowledgeable. Kids had a super time at the pool. We will return.

This gym will soon be demolished and turned into flats, so don't take out an annual membership!

Loved this gym but I was not getting any help with my son who has cerebral palsy. I'd been asking for a changing table and hoist for the pool for over 8 years,we were paying over £100 each month because we were having to pay for 2 adults and 3 kids separately because they don't do a family 👪 membership. 6 different managers and even changeover to Nuffield made no difference. The changing room has no disabled changing facilities or showers. The disabled toilets are not big enough to be used by anyone in a wheelchair ♿.The cleaners are overworked. The showers in the ladies changing rooms are often dirty, glass doors are always dirty with soap suds and the floors were not washed every day. There is a mirrored area with hair dryer which is free. 2 private cubicles are available but are quite small. The spinner was often broken. The swimming pool is great. The wee pool is a nice temperature and depth and the babies pool is decent. The staff are very friendly. the cafe staff really keep the cafe clean and the counter is well stocked. Cafe also has a good variety of food 🍲. The beauty salon offers lots of treatments, no hairdresser. Personal trainers were good but expensive.the gym floor is good. Lots of equipment and plenty of room, variety of classes at different times, there's also a lot of different training equipment like big tyres, vper tubes, balls, heavy ropes, different weight benches for every body area. Medicine balls and kettle bells in different weights. We go to council swimming and gym ⛹ now which has amazing CHANGING PLACES shower and changing room.

Awesome gym. Sophie M. in membership spent loads of time showing me the gym. She was super patient answering my questions and going over pricing. It's very rare to be able to walk in at 8:30pm and get 30+ minutes of a tour and all your membership questions answered. I'd definitely say Sophie made the whole process completely painless and she even accommodated my lack of address since I was in the middle of a move. She was super nice and the whole process was painless! Haven't met a more kind or patient person in membership sales. Sophie is terrific!

This place is becoming a joke, going here since 2015 , I never seen this place that bad like now, from losing tiles , not clean floors, broken machine , steam room, sauna isn't hot as before, all the members I talk to have the same problem, I'm thinking of leaving, I used to LOVE this place, the staff still as great as before

£60 a month to be Kicked out gym 15 mins before it’s advertised to close and all the staff are out of shape and half the equipment broken for months with no sign of it getting fixed

I was a member here about 7 years ago and I felt it could be doing with some new equipment because it was starting to get dated. I rejoined recently and it’s the same equipment and nothing has changed. The gym is like something from 1999, about 1/5th of the equipment has an out of order sign. There are no towels provided for the leisure facility either. I’d have given 1 star if it wasn’t for the cleanliness

The gym is excellent. Huge complex with different sections with different facilities depending on fitness or health goals. Pool is rather cold, as pools go. The cafe snacks are good, healthy and hearty, but the Costa coffee is appalling (and I mean baaad) - unsure how it can be that bad considering it’s meant to be a Costa. I know it sounds petty but I like a coffee before a workout or to chill in the cafe afterwards. Cafe staff are lovely though.

😠 I have had the worst treatment by the staff here. I came with my two year old daughter and wanted to use the little shallow pool. They told me I had to wear a bathing suit so I was even going to purchase one, for over £20, since I promised her that she was going to get in while her older sister was...

🫤 They were not able to reopen the Sauna and jacuzzi since 2020, which is more than pathetic now. These were just renovated pre Covid and we are not able to use them for 3 years and there is no hope, that we can use them anytime soon.

👍 Great gym in Glasgow, they have big training area, swimming poot, sauna, and steamer room. If you are a student at Strathclyde University, you have many choices to join. There are annual membership, one semester membership, and one semester and summer membership. You can also enter for one day. They...

😠 I started using this gym as it is the only Ladies only gym I could find. Whilst I was working out on Monday 26th September at around 20:45, a man walked in not once but twice to grab some weights, as if there weren’t enough in the bigger hall. There should be stricter measures to ensure that the lad...

🫤 This is a good budget gym and the facilities are overall really good. One major drawback are the lockers. There is a big problem with lockers that don't lock as the locks are jammed. I reported this several times to management who it would seem have ignored this! Despite this poor complaint resoluti...
