The hill to get to the top can be pretty rough if you haven’t done it in a while but once your up it’s well worth it .. The views over the river are superb especially in summer ☀️

Such a great walk to do alone or with friends or family, can get a bit knackering but it's worth it for the view at the top.

Worth the 40 min hike up the Kilpatrick Braes, stunning views on the way and if you're looking for somewhere tranquil without hiking for hours, this is the place 👌

It definitely provides stunning views over Glasgow to the East and The Tail of the Bank to the West We could even see Paddy's Mile Stone ( Isle of Craig ). It was a tough climb up the Forrestry road for an old stage with a bad heart, but we achieved it.

Once you leave Kilpatrick train station and see the wee car park head past there over the bridge and take a sharp right and go straight forward under the under Pass and the walk starts from there up the hills. It is well sigh posted. Its just a little over a hours walk longer if your stopping to catch your breath and take pictures of the amazing scenery and thats before you make it to the loch especially on a clear day. The walk is steep though but easily managed. Once you get over the beautiful views on the way ans finally reach the loch it is lovely. More trails to go further or peaceful enough for a stroll and walk around and home to the Bearsden angling club. Very tidy and well managed a beautiful walk for a day out. Very recommended.

An absolutely wonderful hike trail with a magnificent lake view. Best go on a sunny weekday if you are looking to enjoy some quiet not too far away from the city. Hike trail starts from behind the Kilpatrick station till the lake. A second trail goes up to the Slack Mountains where I hiked to from the lake and back to the station by late afternoon. It is a long trail to the lake and back through the mountains, so plan ahead. The climb to the lake is pretty steep for intermediate hikers, so keep enough chocolates and nut bars with you and try to stay hydrated. But the view of the lake once you get to the top is worth the climb!! Great for solo as well as group hiking!

Quite a calf stretcher on the way up but worth every moment. Sat and watched the sunset over the loch. Stunning.

Beautiful place but the angling club are very ignorant when it comes to asking about a membership.

Absolutely spectacular hike! The route is manageable till halfway after that the steep terrain filled with pebbles makes it quite difficult. But that doesn't matter because the breathtaking views make up for it. It's a challenge worth going for ☺☺
