Lovely place to go walking or have a picnic or just admire the view there also some cycle paths around to. There are also picnic areas around with some wooden tables and seats with toilets facilities to. Bare in mind threre is a charge for parking here thou, both an hourly rate and all day rate.

Beautiful drive along the narrow valley road, either from Denny (along the Fintry Road) or up from Kilsyth (using Tak Me Down Road) ... but not for the nervous driver. The carpark has disabled toilets and the walk to the dam is clearly marked. Equally the out and in reservoir edge path provides wonderful views and opportunities for wildlife sightings. Watch out for the occasional logging lorries or medieval reenacters tho ....

Went there several times now...was so good I had to return...to fy fish for trout. Boat & bank fly fishing for brown and rainbow trout. Carron valley is well known for great wild brown trout fishing, the rainbows are stocked. There are regular top ups of the stock fish which average about a pound in weight. Brown trout offer great sport on traditional wet fly from a drifting boat. Fishery staff are very welcoming and helpful. Good fishery hut with tea & coffee making facilities, toilets, tackle shop, car parking, well equipped boats with life jackets and boat seats available. I recommend this place for a cast, you'll like it so much you will want to return again & again. The scenery and the wildlife at Carron valley fishery are second to none.

Not many spots to actually get out and see the reservoir if you are driving. We managed to stop at the dam. Brilliant view.

Great for a walk and some fresh air, I believe you can fish here with the correct permits. Absolutely beautiful Scenery.

Beautiful scenery. Enjoyed a cycle round the Reservoir. Great cycle paths, lots to explore. Only negative is only cash accepted in main carpark...not many people carry cash nowadays! Make it a machine that accepts card and you have 5 stars!

Great place to spend the day, both walking and cycling. The path was closed by work with trucks, I couldn't see everything because there was no access. That didn't stop me from enjoying the views and some MTB trails. 100% recommended

Great little place. Been coming here since I was a child. So many good memories. Lucky to be building new ones with my son. A great day out for a picnic.

Love this place, it’s always so busy though so it’s hard to get parking. I used to hang about up here as a teenager, so understandably todays teenagers do the same. It’s good when they are decent kids but the messy cheeky ones that call you names for simply walking past them on the walk…not so good. But that’s just our experience. It’s a great walk all along the side of the reservoir, great wee family fun day out, close to home for us. We regularly come up the Campsie Fells to try out new camping stuff for the day then come home, wouldn’t actually camp up there as it’s full of wee jakes. 🤣 plus it’s noisy at night with them all speeding on the road. It’s a regular hang out place for youths(I sound old 😭).
