Went in today for some lunch and sad to see their old brunch menu had disappeared and were replaced with a few focaccias (2 types available) and sausage rolls (none available). Sadly not quite what it used to be.

Probably the most expensive coffee in the southside, but best opening hours. Removing stamp cards for an app that doesn’t work isn’t particularly customer focused. Much better when it was a full brunch spot I feel.

Have visited Grain & Grind a good few times in the past year and have enjoyed their free coffee when you buy a bag of fresh beans offer, and generally food/service is decent if a bit expensive. However in the Battlefield shop have had awful customer service more than once from who I assume to be the manager. She is always very curt and does nothing to make me feel welcome - when I was most recently given a tepid at best coffee, and asked for it to be heated up, she told me off for not asking for it to be extra hot… I don’t think asking for my coffee to be heated up was a big ask, and I did not appreciate her condescending tone especially in front of other customers. I will be avoiding the battlefield store going forward as she just isn’t pleasant to deal with ever. The other staff have all been fine to deal with but due to her consistent attitude problem I will be avoiding.

Really great place for brunch. The menu is very varied with choices for all tastes. As I find the menus of a few of the other places nearby very samey. I had the Korean fried chicken pancakes which were lovely and my girlfriend had the Mexican bowl with extra hallomi.

Stopped by for a quick coffee but was hugely disappointed. Very bare looking cafe. Wouldn’t go back for the coffee, worst place for coffee in the area. Nothing caught my eye on the menu and neither did the cakes. Disappointed.

Grain and Grind, a joint where the coffee always hits right – fresh, good on the taste & doesn't murder your wallet. But, it’s the service that gets you. They've been pouring that same heartwarming welcome since day one. Watching this place shape up, yet keeping its soul in the game of smiles and hellos. They've got this customer service gig down. Cheers, guys! 🙌

An excellent brunch spot with fabulous takeaway options too. We had the Korean fried chicken waffle and the courgette fritters (with an egg on top). There is a brilliant range, really good options for dairy free, gluten free, veg and vegan. Current brunch menu is a tenner for a dish and a drink and it is so very worth it. Service was excellent friendly, and in good time. In current covid restrictions the place is well spaced, kept very clean and is still warm and comfortable.

Charging over £3 for a flat white, and almost £4 (!!) for an iced latte that was only okay, when most places are charging £3 or even less, is very cheeky. When paying had to wait as the barista preferred to have a chat with someone she knew, despite there being a queue of people. Don’t see myself coming back any time soon

Great atmosphere from the moment we walked in. Very nice decoration as well. Staff is very friendly and always smiling! We only tried a biscoff donut which was fresh and tasty, the rest of the menu looks great as well. Nice cakes with plenty of options. Can't wait to come back to try the menu!

Used to be better. Previously had a nice atmosphere and just felt like a nicer place to be. They had a great menu with innovative dishes that were well done. Have reverted to a stripped back model now and granted the baking is very good but it ain't what it used to be.

Really different and delicious food, great coffee, friendly and helpfull staff and a lovely atmosphere. Fantastic place to go if your looking for a tasty lunch!!

I returned here after 2 years and sad to say this is not the same grain and grind I once knew. The space is still nice and open, and the coffee is good though. The old brunch menu has been replaced with focaccia sandwiches and sausage rolls, not really the brunch I was hoping. I tried one of each and can't say I will come back here as the sandwiches are mostly bread. If you like focaccia, maybe this is the place for you!

Great choice of main and coffee deal £10 Great value for money Waiter told me this was only branch for hot food. My first time visiting will come back soon!

Been here several times the brunches were very good but now they don’t do them only come in for a coffee which is nice and the cakes are a large size and tasty. Unfortunately several seats taken by people on laptops who seem to stay ages and I think it spoils the atmosphere. Also staff forgot to bring over sugar for coffee, so it tasted rather bitter.

No longer serving hot food. Made a trip especially but apparently it only serves drinks, cakes and 'sanwiches'. It has a modern functional look, window seats and a couple of booths staff were friendly until I asked for my hot chocolate to be hotter. Then I got moodiness 😬

Really nice coffee (and, of course, dog-friendly). A shame they weren't doing cooked brunches but the bagels and bread were lovely. We bought some coffee there which they ground for us.

Avoid this was a lovely coffee shop but has Know became a really uncomfortable and unpleasant place to go relax i think not!!!! staff are really not very nice and didn't clean the table as they should after every customer leaves and new customer sits down we had to ask for a knife and napkins and got a very dirty look like how dare you put me out of my way not clean and no atmosphere AVOID ITS EXPENSIVE and REALLY NOT GREAT VALUE for Money

Nice coffee. Nice cakes. Polite, lovely staff but under staffing / staff doing other things mean that the wait can often be annoyingly long
