What a beautiful place to sit back, relax and let the world pass by. Expansive coffee menu in an extravagant, eclectic and mildly eccentric coffee hall. Nestled just on the edge of the city centre lies a real hidden gem. Quirky characters playing chess, avid reading and some scholarly souls savouring solitude. The comfort of home with delicious sweet items and fulfilling, hearty, savoury meals. Coffee was strong and punchy, cinnamon bun warm, sweet and curiously light. Delightful. Not the biggest fan of the QR code menu and order by phone but it’s the only negative from a thoroughly resplendent visit. Top tier venue.

Great coffee place with a wide variety of food and drinks. The staff is very kind and the service is great. I enjoyed coming here to get some work done, the atmosphere is very cosy. I think having a bigger selection of Turkish food or drinks would be nice. I will definitely be coming again!

Good cafe and I was definitely surprised with the quality of their coffee premium beans. They have pour over coffee too Flat white was good but needs some improvement Pricy I recommend trying the lemon cake Great atmosphere and decor, friendly service. Very disappointed not to have been able to frequent it more often during our short stay in Glasgow

Literally the best people ever. Going as a coffee lover and wanting to try their amazing food. I was not disappointed. I've been back many times and I can happily say I've became friends with everyone there. Always caring and wanting updates on how things are. This place is more than just coffee and food. It's a community

Real hidden gem! Ottoman Coffeehouse is a great place to hang out, get coffee and get some delicious food too. I absolutely love it because of the interior too, so lovely! And service is great. Would highly recommend!

Really lovely place. FANTASTIC almond croissant. Probably the best I've ever had. I also tried the hot pistachio latte which was nice but a bit expensive for what I felt was a very mild pistachio flavour. Great interior, staff, and vibe.

Ottoman Coffee House has an outstanding coffee menu. You don’t get to taste a cup of Geisha every day. Food is excellent, atmosphere is unique and calming, staff are kind and friendly. I will be back to see the developments.

Wonderful atmosphere and lovely staff. The vegan shwarma was one of the tastiest thing I've ever eaten. I was worried about ordering using my phone but apparently you can also talk to a waitress!

We went for our first time on Sunday. We had to sit in the waiting area for ten minutes until we could get a table. When we were shown through to the main area, we were seated at table 12 which would seat five and as we were only a couple we had plenty room. The main hall had a great cosmopolitan vibe about it. We scanned the QR code, placed our order and paid through the phone. It was all quite straight forward, but we probably should have asked someone how much food we would need as we ordered slightly too much. We both had Chicken Shwarma Salads, which were outstanding! I followed this up with Lamb Ribs and rice, which I just managed to polish off. My wife had two Skewers of Lamb Mince which she made a valiant effort at, and I was too full to help her! All of the food was beautifully presented and so full of flavour. When our server came to clear our table I had my phone out to order coffee, but the man told us to tell him what he wanted, so we ordered an Americano and a Cappucino. As we were leaving I went to the counter to pay for the coffee, and our server told us they were on the house. What a lovely touch! We will certainly be back.

Fantastic coffee and food. There's a wide range of coffee options, different brewing methods and often different options for the beans. The food is equally excellent. The schawarma is a favourite of mine. The place itself is elaborately decorated and has a great atmosphere. Staff themselves are helpful and friendly. One of my favourite spots for lunch

I've been here at least 5 times. The place is so cozy, clean, elegant and full of impressive decor and architecture is so nice. The food is so nice! I tried the mixed grill and biryani and both are so delicious! Prices are also good for such high quality. It's also naturally lit and has lots of chessboards, domino and other games.

My very first taste of Turkish coffee. They’re the most authentic Turkish coffeehouse in the Glasgow. Decorate with cozy sofas and the beautiful paintings on the wall, let alone the lovely staffs. They produce very thick sediment using their traditional and unique coffee preparation method. After you drink the coffee, a layer of coffee grounds is left at the bottom of the cup. The sediment can be used for Tasseography, coffee fortune telling. It’s strong taste might not be suitable for everyone, but definitely worth trying.

This Turkish coffee place in Glasgow offers an enchanting atmosphere that transports you to another world. The rich aroma of coffee fills the air, and the ambiance is truly captivating. The coffee itself is excellent, with deep, bold flavors that are sure to please any coffee enthusiast. While I can't comment on the food, this spot is a must-visit for a unique coffee experience.

Suggested by my daughter as a good place for friends meet up when visiting Glasgow. 2 minutes from Charring Cross, quite anonymous on the street, if you didn't see the doorway so busy with customers you'd almost miss it was there. Didn't realise we should book. It was a Saturday and we were lucky, but it was busy. Drinks menu was varied and we tried lots of interesting sounding coffees. All of which we thoroughly recommend - I think between us we tried every coffee 😆 Smart phone is required for viewing menu and ordering. Decor makes it pleasant, there are lots of chess sets about, even saw people using them. Customer based seamed very varied, there were families, older folk and students all enjoying same space, as well as us visitors to the city. Definitely plan to visit again Photo is of the pistachio rose latte, the red velvet mocha also should be experienced, all of us loved it.

One of my favorite cafes I went to during my travels. I went here a few times for breakfast, and I still think about how good the dal at this place is even now that I’m home. I had it with the caravan tea, a type of savory, smoky tea that paired really well with it, and on my last day in Glasgow I got a cinnamon roll. Which was… honestly one of the best cinnamon rolls I think I’ve had. Also, since I was the first person in that morning, I got to talk with the owner (I think?) and we had a good conversation about tea and my home city, and he was so nice to give me a cup on the house. Just an absolutely stunning place in this city. Side note: somehow they have the naan to dal ratio down to a science. It is the perfect amount of naan for the amount of dal they give. That is all.

We were in Glasgow for a few days and wanted somewhere to eat. Someone had recommended the Ottoman Coffeehouse on Twitter and so we decided to check it out. It was also halal which made it an easy choice. After a long day walking around the Botanic garden we were hungry and weary by the time we arrived at the Coffee house and it did not disappoint. Everything from the ordering / paying through your phone, to the food itself and the lovely, chatty staff themselves. The place also has interesting decor and chess boards if you want to have a game over some coffee! If I ever go back to Glasgow, I'll love to go there again.

Wow! This is an experience, it's what a Coffeeshop should be, the bench mark for all coffee shops. The coffee brewing laboratory looks absolutely phenomenal, they have so many options to choose from, If that wasn't enough, I choose a spiced tea, which transported me to the heart of Ottoman empire, with a brownie, the room is stunning, the food looked great (will be having some next time I'm in) finally what normally makes a place is it's staff, even though they were off their feet, they looked after us. Good luck guys, hope you continue to do well. xxx 🙏

What a pleasant experience! Not only a fantastic array of coffees to try but an atmospheric place to drink it, friendly staff and great food as well. Really easy to order from the app and quick service despite being busy. Staff were very professional giving advice, ensuring everything was to our liking and made time to interact with us as well. I enjoyed the red velvet latte with chips & cheese while my husband had a Turkish coffee with chicken kebab meal. We can't wait to return and try more options from the extensive menu!

First time trying Turkish style coffee, it's beautifully delicious! Tried the food too, it's lovely. No grease on the Donner meats at all and very tender. The sweet treats tasted really fresh as well. Definitely going back!

I came here with a friend for some lunch before an appointment. The decor is fabulous, service was absolutely fantastic, a real pleasure to speak with the staff. The food was delicious, as recommended by the waiter. Facilities were great. I am looking forward to bringing more friends and family to discover this diamond in the city.

They have a really easy way of ordering food by scanning a barcode and ordering through an app. Unfortunately the app kept declining our payment so we had to pay at the counter. Everything I ordered was great except the chickpeas. It was probably cooked in too much oil/butter and I could literally taste the butter at some point. Their service was excellent. no complaints ! Highly recommend this place to anyone travelling to Scotland.

I've been in the place today and it was packed, eventually we got a table. We ordered 1 Turk and 1 Ottoman the place transported me back to Constantinople and without even realising it we ended up spending nearly 4 hours, now I realise why the place was packed. The bey's are in the house.

The owner (?) Imran was so welcoming, clearly took great pride in the coffees that were served. He gave us two free ottoman lattes because he wasn't satisfied with the first one, he felt they should reduce the milk to coffee ratio. He made a second one the way it 'should' be done and asked us which we preferred. The second one hands down; it was lovely, spicy and just a little sweet. Reminded me of tchai ovnas 'yogi-yogi chai' tea, if you know what I'm talking about - you'll like it here ;) we got a handshake on the way out the door too, and a promise to come back.

I was one of the lucky people to have visited the coffee shop before the lock down, I walked into this place heading to a conference at the Mitchell. I would never write a review about a coffee shop but in this case the service was so crazy good and the I love my coffee and the coffee was excellent. I would recommend the Ottoman Coffee, When they next open it's Well worth the visit.

I am bored; what better way than to review the places I have visited before lockdown. Ottoman Coffeehouse is an independent family run business in Charing Cross, being situated where I live it has become the ideal location to relax and unwind. So much so I returned 3x in the span of 5 days for a unique hot drink to escape the Scottish weather. It is suitable for students to spend time and get lost in thoughts with friends, with great wifi, in a beautiful tranquil environment, or even the smell and taste of the coffee. The owners are clearly making a huge effort: prices are on par with local coffee shops in the area; the food and drinks are delicious; the staff are lovely and always with a smile. I cannot wait for them to reopen soon so I can try it out again. The venue itself has an old arabesque mellow atmosphere which is impossible to describe and has to be felt to be experienced.

Was in before the lockdown, never realised it had a google page, loved the vibe in the coffee shop, great coffee (The Turk) cannot be faulted, you can easily lose yourself in the place, the place isn't for you if you are in for a quick drink, this is a place to spend several hours relaxing and forgetting your worries. Really looking forward to visiting again. Please hurry.

We stopped in here for a coffee but ended up staying for lunch as well because the food looked great. It was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. We are veggie so had the ‘Ful’ and some Hummus to share. Everyone was so friendly, a really nice atmosphere.

Great coffee shop, exceptional staff, fantastic place. Very difficult to find, Google maps show the premises at the rear of Berkeley Street lane, it's on the front between Shenaz and the old Ashoka flame, this place is not for everyone I can see the Ottoman having it's own tribal following.

  • 5/5 Graham L. 3 years ago on Google
1st Turkish brew bar in Scotland Ordered - The Turk, Dirty Chai and Flat White Location - Situated in the old GSM, at Berkeley Street, difficult to find as no signage on the front other than an A board. Venue - a reception area, coffee lounge, an espresso bar and a filter brew bar (or Turkish brew bar). There is a real sense that the team behind the Ottoman Coffee Bar are serious about their coffee, Whether you're a flat white drinker (like my partner) or a Turkish coffee drinker (moi!) You'll find some of the best coffee in town brewed and poured right here. They also have some extra special beverages, including dirty chai and Istanbul fog. With the coffee and beverages this good, it's no wonder the Ottoman is well on its way to establish a cult following in such a short space of time. This venue is not only for coffee drinkers, located in the heart of the west end, a great place to socialise over a cup of brew while losing yourself in the middle eastern decor, I could easily be sitting a stone throws away from the Grand Bazaar. Don't take my word for it, give it a visit. Negative - Service was slow, but I was in no hurry, they need to turn the heating up as it was getting chilly. Kitchen should have a door on it, as we could hear a lot of kitchen noises in the hall. overall a fantastic new edition to Glasgow coffee scene.

DONOT ORDER FOOD. Overall a bad experience. 5stars for place and ambience. Negatives - Staff management and organisation was bad. They served us wrong food multiple times and when they did it was cold. If you are going there for just to try authentic Ottomam coffee please donot go before 1 in noon. Sadly we did and couldn't get it. There is no mention of such timings on website regarding availability of menu items. I ordered Turkish house blend tea which I liked.

  • 5/5 Patricia F. 3 years ago on Google
Authentic Turkish coffee bar, What struck me the most was the environment, the space is impressive, the owners have really made a huge effort, to bring the to life an old vintage middle eastern coffee shop from the past. The atmosphere is that of a middle eastern/Arab living room, beautifully and very cleverly designed, cozy, warm and friendly which is something very difficult to find in a coffee shop of this size. The WiFi was excellent and plugs available to power up the laptop, shop itself is spacious and very suitable for reading and studying. Excellent quality coffee and delicious pastries and snacks. I wouldn't normally review a coffee shop, My coffee arrived slightly cold, possibly due to the size of the hall, or maybe we lost track of time and sipped on it late, we asked the staff to heat the cup, instead they remade the latte and we were not charged for the drinks. Exceptional service.

  • 5/5 Laiba Q. 3 years ago on Google
Beautiful venue. Lots to see, An authentic Turkish bar in the corner. The Ottoman Coffeehouse is exactly the sort of off-the-radar coffee shop that I was looking for, not easily signposted, took a bit of investigation to find it. I believe it's intentionally discreet, clearly a hub for Glasgow's coffee lovers – spacious, hip, and laptop friendly. More importantly, the coffee is amazing, really really good. I wasn't expecting anything different from the usual coffee fare, but the Turkish coffee short, sweet and strong blew my expectations, I think they said the Turk used authentic Yemen beans and were hand roasted. I love my coffee and this is the best coffee I have tasted, unfortunately I was only able to visit it twice, and it's been closed since the lockdown. No updates so not sure if they are going to reopen.

Ever wondered what lies behind the doors of 73 Berkeley Street? The Ottoman Coffee Shop is housed in this beautiful building, a must visit just to get an insight into the history of the Glasgow Jazz Club. Unusual decor in the style of the Glasgow Art Club on Bath Street, reminds me of Mackintosh, Me and some of my friends had the good fortune of checking in,, ordered The Turk, Flat White and Chai, which were fantastic. I would definitely come back When back in Glasgow.

  • 5/5 Abdul Q. 3 years ago on Google
I agree with the other reviews saying that Ottoman is the best complete coffee drinking experience in Glasgow. I've been to many other independent coffee 'shops' , none compare to The Ottoman Coffee House. Must try THE TURK, Excellent, friendly service too. Can't beat it!

  • 5/5 Paul L. 3 years ago on Google
This place is literally coffee heaven! The atmosphere sent me back in time, felt like I was in the heart of Istanbul, absolutely fantastic, the staff were so knowledgeable, explaining the different alternatives on the menu, I would recommend The Ottoman, very unusual coffee, gritty, strong but not at all bitter. We will be back here the next chance we get because we've found the one and only place someone would ever need for a coffee fix! If you haven't already, do yourself a favour and try it, it's amazing!
