Lovely meal tonight and excellent friendly staff, including a superb Old Fashioned cocktail. Focaccia and dips, then Gambini Risotto. Will be back for sure.

Went here with my sister and brother in law on 16th Aug for an early dinner with a Groupon voucher. Very pleasant front of house and quickly seated. Menus were already on the table and the offer of beverages very quickly taken and brought to the table. The early evening menu doesn't have too many starters or mains but I consider that a good thing as it means they concentrate on doing simple things well. Myself and my brother started with minestrone soup which looked thin and watery but was full of vegetables and flavour. It was served with a generous hunk of bread and a butter portion. My sister in law had the mushroom fritters served with a honey mustard sauce and small side salad which she declared tasty and filling. For mains I had the pasta arriabiata which for my liking had lots of fresh chilli. My brother had the pasta carbonara(wasn't spaghetti) but came with plenty of bacon pieces and looked creamy and he enjoyed it all the same. These mains came with 3 chunky slices of garlic bread without ordering any extras so was included. My sister in law ordered the lasagne which also came with garlic bread. To drink myself and my brother had a glass of house white and red which were very palatable while a coke sufficed for my sister in law. As the service from Ashleigh and Lucy and the ambience was very pleasing my sister in law and myself decided to indulge in a dessert. We opted for the white chocolate rafaello cake with 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream which was lovely and light and went done well. Also had 1pot of tea. The bill was around £64 of which half was taken off with the voucher. Would return again for the ambience and food. Big mention to the servers too.👍

Can't really fault it, it gets a bit lively late at night with all the music from the different places clashing in the main hall, but food was great and staff were really nice

(Translated by Google) Merchant Square appeared already in Christmas atmosphere mid-October with the many lights on the ceiling. This is in contrast to a number of things near Merchant Square that really didn't look good. Beforehand, I had a shrimp cocktail that tasted like a tasteless chilly sauce. My partner's bruschetta turned out to have been a better choice. My risotto with mushrooms, however, was of excellent quality and quantity and my partner also enjoyed the pasta. For the same quality risotto we pay double at home so they have an excellent price / quality ratio here. The service was smooth but I have to say that there were no more than 10 guests that evening. Definitely a restaurant to remember as there are more expensive ones in Glasgow that deliver less.

Not good at all! Service was slow, although pleasant the staff agreed to everything and followed through with nothing. Food was cold after we waited 3 hours for it. Offered a free round of drinks to compensate for our wait but it wasn't good enough, wish we'd went elsewhere.

Food good, especially 2 course meal deal (starter and main), good range and well priced. Lunch/Dinner for 3 and 2 bottles of prosecco £62. Can't argue with that. Will be back

Great setting, food is reasonably good Italian, but desserts are small and ice cream is cheap nasty stuff, not the proper Gelato stuff, and I'm afraid that drags it down.

Excellent, was there for a family meal celebrating my sisters birthday. Service excellent, staff very friendly and professional. The meals were first class, with myself having an Italian heritage, I am fussy in my choice of Italian restaurants, I have been here once before and the service was excellent and cuisine first class. The only disappointment was that I could not get my canoli as their refrigerator broke down, only ice cream was available, but overall, excellent price and will be returning at some point,

Staff friendly and nice but the food was shocking. My wife and I never complain about anything, we r not fussy eaters. I got pizza picantae and my wife got chicken pasta dish and both were tasteless. Had to add load of salt and pepper to get a taste.

I used to work here. Staff who work here get no contract. I never got a payslip. Tips have been withheld from me. Avoid at all cost!

These guys are amazing. I had booked a private party upstairs for my husband 60th birthday on Sunday 16th February and paid a deposit if £100 as requested, as far as I was concerned it was totally non refundable which was totally acceptable. My husband unfortunately suffered a heart attack on 4th February. I contacted Franellis to cancel the booking a couple of days later thinking that was the end of the matter but to my utter surprise Louise who had taken the original booking and had just returned from holiday phoned to ask after my husband and to inform me she had organised a full refund of my deposit. To say Franellis has restored my faith in human nature is an under statement. What lovely people working for an obviously lovely caring company. Thank you all p,s. John is making a very good recovery

Staff were nice, food was ok, but been 3 times, and 3 times main meal was almost finished by time side dishes arrived. How hard is it to bring chips out at same time as your pizza?? Will give it a miss.

Food is not that great and ambience was rather dull. Waitress was rather brusque. Starter was very deep fried and was only vegetarian choice apart from soup which I didnt want. Pizza was extremely heavy and not very good at all. Would not recommend or return to this restaurant. There are far better places nearby much cheaper and nicer.
