Bouncers at this place need replaced ASAP. Judgmental arrogant guys who refuse ppl entry for no reason whatsoever. Guy who runs the place knows about these issues an does absolutely nothing about it as well. Me and My mates will never be back

As someone who has being in and out of the Cathouse for almost 20 years, i don't wanna give the place 1 star but my recent experience. trying to come into the club, on a Thursday was surprising, I normally walk in without issue and was told recently I was too drunk and to stop lying about how many drinks ive had, sad part is the bouncer should have being able to recognize me from years ago and I wasn't even drunk, the money ive given to this place, whether it be supporting gigs, club nights and making loads of friends over the years and im now getting knocked back randomly at the door, sort the bouncers and restore this place properly to how it always was, their knocking back loyal and customers that should be valued and no stranger to them, sad really with all the memories ive had in this place, I got a taxi to Box and got in their no problem. driving people away from clubs they loved.

Past few times we've been, it genuinley seems like the guy DJ in the bar has forgotten that it's the catty he's in and not a pop club? We don't come here to listen to Taylor swift and old white people tunes. Nothing wrong with that but not at the catty. Last time we were there it was constant and literally everyone was staring at each other in disbelief. It was a super awkward atmosphere and he didn't seem tp care?

The bouncers are a complete disgrace, tried to enter here with 2 different friends and they gave them a knockback for ridiculous reasons, they accused accused them both of being drunk (one friend has a lazy eye and the other has a stutter and had NOTHING to drink), bet the owner of the place knows about the bouncers behavior and does nothing about it. AVOID!

I haven't been out in Glasgow for quite some time but honestly, if you want to be safe and feel secure cathouse is the best place! I was rather drunk last night and instead of being told to sit down, or bouncers and staff making me feel bad I was simply handed water each time I ordered drinks for people... might seem small but I was very impressed with the staff and door staff going out their way to still ensure I was okay as opposed to anywhere else that would have seen it differently and said to leave... Mighty impressed and the staff need a huge high five for actually caring where near all other places don't and would put someone on the street Great night out and great staff! 😁

Knocked back having left a gig, had 2 pints and was completely honest with the bouncers before being denied entry. Totally embarrassed and ashamed despite being sober. Total power trip from the bouncers.

They had a medieval costume competition and a man wearing full authentic 14th century plate armour wasn't even in the top 3. A disgrace of a venue that should be shunned by the nation on a point of principle.

Ageism? The bouncer asked where we had been earlier so I said at the glasvegas gig and he refused entry on the grounds of me being drunk. But I only had 1.5 pints over 4 hours and walked 30mins to the venue. Totally spoiled our night as we were planning to stay out til closing. I cannot understand why as we were blatantly not drunk but are in our 40s. We later watched a stumbling group of teens/20 something going in! I actually looked immediately at Google for reviews of the club and it said the venue was much less busy than usual. So manager of the club you really missed out on our adult professionals' money. Shame we spent the day before touring all the rock bars and had a great night. Won't be back!

I came to Glasgow from London with a mate and we heard great things about Cathouse so we decided to go on a Saturday night. We both now agree it's our favourite club , the music and people were amazing. The bar staff were also welcoming and served us fast. We also had our first venom which was a great experience. I will come to Glasgow again just to go Cathouse. See ya soon :)

It can be an enjoyable enough place once in however after hearing poor stories about the staff and experiencing it myself, I would advise to avoid. There’s plenty of better spots nearby.

friendliest and most helpful staff and best music in glasgow! was there for the first time yesterday and (embarrassingly) had too much to drink and the staff helped my friend look for me and then sat with me to fill out a medical form and even payed for our uber. i think the woman who helped us was called charlie, and the manager i’m pretty sure. really really cool venue with great music and great staff - can’t wait to go back!

The place seems nice enough but it would have been nice to be able to see that for myself considering the bouncer kicked me out for being trans, I got really annoyed at that but considering all the other reviews mentioning similar stories I should have known.

1st time at the Cathous tonight for the fabulous Steve n Seagulls. I wanted to give a massive shout out to the clubs staff. You guys are amazing. I have mobility issues and when I asked for a chair it was no trouble at all. Then to be moved to another part of the venue, so that we could see better and not be knocked about, was going above and beyond the call of duty. It was very much appreciated and I wanted to thank you all. You made a great gig phenomenal 🥰🤩

Maybe it is the european voew but we wrre Bord by 3 floors playing similar playlists, very little classic rock. Though the people are lovely but pogo/battle dancing apparently not allowed. Had some undriendly dituation with the security who stoppen a damce Situation very harshly and did not even apologise for rough treatment and hurting me. All in all still a nice night out but would not recommend for german rock fans who are used to german heavy parties.

Went there to see Dream Evil ,bands were great. Staff was really nice. Its a small venue, there are seats to sit on while waiting for the next band to play, the ventilation is good . The sound system is good. The perfect place for a metal/rock show. 🤘🏼🤘🏼

The Cathouse has always been a great night out and definitely one of my favourites in Glasgow. Never had any trouble with the bouncers (unlike some other well known Glasgow rock clubs), the sound is always good for the shows and you can dance away, or chill at a table with mates on a night out.

Venue was great. Went out for a pack of smokes and bouncers wouldn't let me back in. Apparently I was too drunk. Which I had walked 1 mile and even trying to speak to them was pointless. So if you go don't leave when you walk out.

Decent rock night out in Central Glasgow. Queue often means a bit of a wait but free entry with O2 Academy tickets is nice. Drinks reasonably priced, good music selection.

A really fun venue, great for punk gigs. It's in a really good location as well, I imagine I'd want to be here all the time if I lived in Glasgow.

Had a great night out with friends, live music was fantastic, staff friendly, security team tight and knows what they are doing. Door staff friendly and chatty which was great to see a friendly face. Love, love, love this venue.
