Bouncer on the door need to get a grip. Only lets in young girls. 4 of us got refused as I has what he call combats on. I had black denims on that had a small zip on the leg. It's a karaoke bar not the Hilton having looked in via the window I could see that 90% of the people allowed on where young girls (and they couldn't song) stay away from this place bouncers are a joke and makes you wonder why they are only letting a certain type in. Bit creepy if you ask me

What an amazing place! My daughter and I visited on the 2 nights we stayed in Glasgow. My daughter is an electric-wheelchair user, the whole staff from door men, bar staff and manager, couldn't have been more helpful! Easy access into the venue and accessible toilet. Took a few members of a camping society here after our social had ended. Everyone really enjoyed it and loved watching those who sang on stage. The only complaint would be the number of tables/seating areas that had empty glasses and rubbish covering it. There didn't seem to be enough staff to accommodate the number of people in the building. Other than that, it was a good night

Security staff were really nice, but that's pretty much the only positive. Waited for hours for our turn with the karaoke, but never got called up. Seemed like the dj was choosing his personal preferences, rather than going through the list in order. Drinks are also very overpriced, with two double vodkas and mixer costing £18. Would not recommend.

Great bar. Upstairs has the best seating area so get there early and grab that if you can. Has a really good view of the stage. Great for recording others as they get up!

The staff here and honestly amazing! I was here on Friday night and there was a guy that was being a little bit creep but I was so impressed by how the staff handled it. They made me and my friends feel so safe and comfortable and it meant to we could boogie the night away with out having to think about it knowing the the security gaurds and bar staff were keeping a really close eye on things. Thanks again. Will definetly be back.

Had a great night Thursday night at Cosmopol. Not been for years. The staff were so nice and welcoming and that's including security. Atmosphere was brilliant everyone in the place was loving it 🎶 👏

Went with a group of people on a Friday night for karaoke. Putting in the songs requests is fairly easy, but the karaoke dj is not good. He misread all of our group’s names from the sheets so we missed our songs because he wouldn’t read out the song titles. He also seemed to pick the order of songs based on personal preferences. When I asked if he could read out the names of the songs, he refused rudely and said people would try to poach other songs but literally no one was singing anyways because he was getting everyone’s name wrong. It ended up being a really boring experience.

Karaoke is usually my worst idea of a night out but the staff; the atmosphere and the bar were all brilliant. Great selection of drinks and lovely staff

Good fun, easy central location. The main thing I like about this bar is the security team. A few weeks ago my wife and I were being harassed by a drunk man in this bar, and the security team intervened politely, but firmly when they saw how uncomfortable we were, and removed him from the premises. The team checked in with us to see we were okay afterwards. I feel very safe here and will be back. Thank you!

Don’t even bother!!!! After a lovely night out, my husband and I tried to go in here, what looked like someone who was still in high school was on the door, decided that I was allowed in but my husband apparently was far too inebriated!!!!! The people that had been allowed in were obviously drunk!!!! Maybe check that your staff on the door are firstly old enough to allow people in and secondly know how to judge if people are infact too drunk to enter, first time I’ve ever felt the need to write a negative review about somewhere in Glasgow! Judging by the other reviews we’ve dodged a bullet 😂

Went here a few weeks ago and had a great night. Somehow managed to forget my jacket. Popped in 2 weeks later and the lovely staff had kept a hold of it for me.

They speciall care of me too. kept an eye on my bag, and crutche and coat 🙏 helped so as i was on crutches as i had been attacked by 4 ladies and a Man back in South Wales and didn't feel safe in my own home and the police were taking their Tim in investigation my case. Absolutely shocking, from the joke standing at the door to the manager serving behind the bar, both need lessons on manners, and lots of training, the girl working on the door would have been better running the bar she spoke more sense / and had the right attitude for running the bar the owner should be checking what is going on in his joke of a bar. Definitely not be recommending this place to anyone.

!!! GROOMING WARNING!!!! Terrible!!. Bouncers and staff are weird, bouncers only let in young girls, dont think half them are 18, if your a man youve no chance. Bar staff are creeps and two of the bouncers are 100% into kids, removed me and my partner for being to drunk and then preceeded to remove another 2 older gentlemen. Leaving drunk teens rolling around on the floor unchallenged. Would definitely not let my daughter near these creeps, as it has got grooming all over it, especially from the vile door staff. I must stress that one of the door staff was fine and a nice man, unfortunately he has to work with the other idiots, . Disgusting and shocking.

Waited two hours after putting a song in the queue and got nothing. Had a good enough time to begin with, but witnessed the 25-30yo DJ tell what can only have been an 18 year old girl that if she gives him a kiss, she’ll get the next song. Will not be back.

Such a good place when you can get in. The bouncers are so ignorant. Turn up one night you get in, turn up another and you don't. It's always like this and they are so cheeky for no reason. Power trip I think.

Too busy, been here twice and never got the chance to sing... 2, 3hours wait for 1 song. Besides it's crowded, and there's never place to sit down.

Bouncers were very good and friendly when we were in. No issues and lots of smiles from them. Bar staff were great and served us quickly and very well. The only thing that spoiled it was the jumped up wee guy who was passing the mike to folk to sing. He called himself the DJ ..debatable..made some of us feel uncomfortable as his manner was rude,cheeky and way above his station. There's rude and obnoxious which this wee guy was really good at. Won't be back or won't recommend his services.

Ive slipped down the stairs from the 1st floor towards the bar tonight and hurt myself. After reporting it to the security they said it was very slippery, I’m in agony with my back and have cut my hand while trying to protect myself while falling down the slippery wet stair

Normally id give Cosmopol 5 stars but last night the barman tried to pass us 2 soda waters as vodka and lemon and when questioning this the manager or bar manager gave us abuse 15 years i worked in bars and know when im being scammed. Utterly ridiculous customer service.which saddens me to say as the stewards are fantastic and always make us welcome and have a good night just a pity bad bar staff let it down so on this occasion 1 star.

***WORST BAR EVER*** I would give this zero stars if it were an option. Visited the other night with my partner, 10 minutes after arriving and halfway through our drinks we were asked to leave for being "too intoxicated". We were not intoxicated in the slightest. However the extremely drunk teenagers were allowed to remain there, climbing on seats/tables and rolling about the floor. Bouncers are rude, jumped up wannabe hardmen. Laughable. Avoid this place if u are over 20. And if u have young daughters advise them to stay away or educate them on staying safe whilst drinking. Dodgy, dodgy place. Even dodgyer bouncers.

Awful karaoke experience on the 18/11/2022 had to wait a couple of hours to sing 1 song with my friends, while the DJ was letting some people sing multiple songs during that period. Seems like the DJ was just choosing songs based on her personal preference and not the actual queue, didn’t seem like we would even get a chance to sing without actually coming up and asking if our song is even in the queue. Manager said that we shouldn’t have had to wait that long, as it wasn’t that busy. Would not recommend. Guards and bartenders were nice though.

I’m very disappointed because I’ve been to this place several times and it’s always been enjoyable. For some reason the bouncer tonight decided my boyfriends “eyes were rolling in his head”, because we had been for a steak dinner and had a couple of pints? Maybe he was getting mixed up with the young ones but it really offended us and made us feel too uncomfortable to sing - which was the whole point in even going to this bar. Anyway, the drinks and bar staff were great, it’s a shame that our experience was ruined by this one man.

Sadly , like so many places in Glasgow , the door staff ruin what could possibly be a good place. Any group of more than 2 men quite simply get refused entry outright without any justification. My friend was accused of being too drunk and this was literally the first bar we had tried. A chat with some of the locals confirmed that this is a regular occurrence in most of the bars in Glasgow.Also a quick look through the window confirmed it was a mainly female crowd which begs the question : How desperate are the door staff to get laid that they refuse to let any groups of more than two guys into the place? A sad state indeed.

Good karaoke bar with a friendly atmosphere. Great drinks selection. Does take card but machine was down when I was there and goes down often so bring cash (disappointing!) Gets very busy though so don’t expect to be singing many songs, you’re lucky if you get up on stage once. Does run a fair queuing system though so can’t really fault the venue.

We’ve spent the whole night waiting for my our songs but they never came. The place is full of drunk people and smoke. The regulars are the only ones who could sing. Disappointing.

Had the absolute best night, was on Saturday for a hen and we had a blast. It was so busy and staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend and will 100% be back.

Thursday evening is family time for my Son and I however last week was a big disapointment for us as a family of three we tried to enter Cosmopol only to have my son be told he'd had too much to drink which I think is wrong we had been to driftwood earlier and all three of us had the same amount the plastic cups in driftwood are very small and we each had three Vodca coks and one small shot and we were not drunk as the security staff member implied so Im afraid Im giving only one star rating for last week lets hope we dont get turned away tonight again

Great place! Spent two successive nights here during my short stay in Glasgow; friendly bouncer, friendly bar staff, friendly people (who, in some cases, could even sing too).

I was a lone karaoke singer just out for the craic... I have fun wherever I am, but sincerely felt that Alan the karaoke man, couldn’t stand me. It didn’t stop me, however it did make me lose my words a lot (or that could have been the drink). I had fun though and I would recommend but bring your friends... if you don’t, be prepared to feel like a knob!

Good selection of songs to choose from for the Karaoke. Despite it being reasonably quiet, had to wait nearly 2 hours for our songs to come round so expect a long wait. The set-up from a singer's perspective is absolutely awful. There is almost zero monitor speaker sound at the stage area which explains much of the off key singing. For a specific karaoke bar, such a poor sound set up just isn't good enough.
