Great Park with lots of history. Enjoyed having a kick about here with my son and seeing the buzz he got when I told him Rangers and Celtic etc have all played there. It's a shame it was allowed to go the way it has as it still has huge potential. It's nice to see some people have started to clean up some terraces etc.

A sometimes haunting reminder of the legacy of Third Lanark. Cathkin Park oozes history as well as being a lovely wooded area in the heart of the Southside. No matter the season you can get beautiful photos of nature taking back the long abandoned terraces

    I couldnโ€™t believe the history behind this pitch,,,home of Third Lanark back in the day and Scotland ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ actually beat England ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ here in the late 30โ€™s I think ๐Ÿ’ญ not quite sure of the date ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ฏdid happen though ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Just an old football pitch we're the the Third Lanark football club played up to the late 50s,the terracing is still there, and it's a place I remember having spent time there playing with friends in the old derelict stands back in the late 60s early 60s when they were still there for years

Fabulous park, great atmosphere, visitors must be respectful to the memory of a wonderful club once Scottish League Champions killed by money men. Should have been saved. Emotional place to visit for those left โ€œStill seeing redโ€

Interesting park for its size, old football stadium stands give a dramatic aspect to the walk around it. Usually very quiet, which is nice

It was a nice walk in to see where the remnants of the old stadium. I liked seeing the grass pitch is still maintained. Although some people seemed to like driving up the grass further up instead of the road way that is provided.

Medium sized park. Site of an old football ground the stands are really over grown with trees. Okay for exercising dogs or maybe football.

Old third lanark ground bit rough now but the pitch is decent.

The former home of the now defunct Third Lanark FC. The overgrown terraces give it an ethereal quality and a unique atmosphere. I take my son and his friends down from time to time to kick a football around and they love it. The history of the place sets it apart from any other public space in the city where you can have a kick about.

Not too much to say about Cathkin Park, but if youโ€™re a football historian or historian, then this is the original home of Hampden Park, the home of Scottish football. Itโ€™s amazing after all these years that you can still see the terracing of the old ground. It really should be renovated and preserved for generations to come, but it will probably cost way too much. Now mainly used for recreational use for local residents.

A piece of Scottish Football history. Great to be able to walk around on a quiet Sunday morning. You can almost imagine and hear the thousands who would stand on these terraces.

Nice wee park, lots of folk walking dogs but on the whole pretty quiet for a built up area.

Atmospheric remains of a stadium, best seen with the trees in their autumn colours.

Paid this place a visit whilst on a football day out to Hampden. Great to see the old terracing with barriers and loved the feeling of footballing history there.

Cathkin Park has a rich history. Third Lanark a well respected football club who went bust in 1967 .Ironically a very successful year for Scottish football. I was fortunate enough to see them play many times. Well I just lived down the road, and it was free for me to get in. You just needed an adult to lift you over the turnstile. There should be more information on the legends who played here They just have little plaque as you enter the Park from Cathcart Road and it doesn't say much. Better than nothing I suppose.

It's looking sad and unkempt at the old Cathkin Park. I sat and closed my eyes and thought of the football played here in a bygone era. The old terracing's still there as a reminder.
