Hogarth Park

Tourist attraction Park

🫤 Good points this place is an actual park and the grass was cut recently. The pyramid was sponsored by the local young team and decorated in various colours of broken glass. There was seating in the form of a burnt out couch and I saw two large crows fighting over an empty bottle of buckfast.

Bit rundown, very hilly terrain for a dog walk but can often be filled with undesirables. If someone invested in it they could make a cracking park!

Nice green area and an unusual monument that l got very curious about (It's a shame that there is no information about it)

Would love to see Hogarth Park cared for a little more. It's very littered. I have to carefully monitor where my dog goes due to lots and lots of broken glass.

Not enough dog litter bins.. Golfers use car park even when theirs is empty Also complain because they can't use the pitch & putt as their private driving range & not it's original purpose ie dogs are not allowed in

Park needs some maintenance and has been ruined due to construction.

Decent wee green space and can be quieter than Alexandra Park. Not well looked although the council do come out and cut the grass occasionally. Lots of broken glass and litter.

A small green space which is usually very quiet however, it is not well looked after with lots of broken glass and litter. There is a nice monumnet though, shame there isn't more information about it. There is a concrete court, maybe basketball once, maybe a small fives pitch but no goals or hoops and the fencing is damaged.

Back in the 70's & 80's the local gangs ( Haghill Powery and the Carntyne Goucho) used this place as their battlefield, for no other reason than boredom and to be the short lived 'king of the hill" . The powers that be of the time decided enough was enough and made it into a 'park' you could say progress of sorts has been made.
