We need more of these community gardens and this one in particular has that special something to it.

My favourite place to hang out during Lockdown; great place to take your dog or your toddler, community rather than municipal feel, Fire pits for the responsible outdoor BBQ host; Tree houses, an outdoor kindergarten, the opportunity to grow things in containers without the responsibility of an allotment;community composting and friendly people. Great ecotherapy for the soul!

It was cold, it was wet, it was muddy but the kids absolutely loved it - a bit of green space with the ability to play with a mud kitchen and build a den within the west end of Glasgow. It was perfect for a Lockdown outing and a excellent place for the community to share. During more normal times there are various groups that meet and hold outdoor learning sessions here.

Lovely little gem of a park. All natural, great for walks, kids to play, and a picnic lunch. Great community garden as well.

A bit different from when I was younger , it was red ash football pitches and changing rooms or as it was called the White House. Good to see the land getting used for the community and not turned into flats.

The Children's Wood in North Kelvin Meadow truly embodies the spirit of a caring community! There are gardens with fresh herbs and things. A Labyrinth that was fun to walk and many little outdoor projects for the children to take part in. This beautiful space provides a safe natural place for the children and adults alike to get back to nature and connect with the land. There are cooking facilities and knowledgeable info on the birds and other creatures that inhabit the wood. There are creative artworks done by the children and committee and other participants throughout the place, beautiful murals and posted information about the history, happenings and guidelines for public use. I went in the cold and rain and had fun so I can imagine how much more beautiful and engaging it will be in warmer weather! And if you visit, check out the BEAUTIFUL store, The Opal Moon, nearby for crystals, the most beautiful gifts and magical sacred items to uplift, enhance and brighten your space! ~Angel

Went there with some family including 3 children. Very stimuating for children with lots of very basic facilities. Excellent resouce in an otherwise residential area, well done to those who help stop the developers buiding more flats and allowed this wood to be used for the community.

The Children's Wood and North Kelvin Meadow is a small park with a community allotment where you can see plants growing. While there are better parks nearby, it's still a decent spot for a short walk. If you're in the area and looking for a quick nature fix, it's worth a visit.

Wow, what a gem of place. A local grandma told me there were plans to build housing complex, thanks to the protests they could rescue and reserve this piece of land for children and the community growers are helping maintain/restore flora and fauna. Would love to visit again.

A fantastic resource for children and families. A space for children to explore nature and to get creative using natural materials.

Great place to take toddlers and young children and explore nature. They can run about freely in relative safety and play in the mud kitchen. Wellies often necessary. If you're looking for a traditional play park this isn't it - there's one down the road.
