One of the largest cast iron fountains in Europe... splendid when restored and operational ...not been cared for in decades and Glasgow city council mismanaged funds by dipping the till too much and sticking it in the back pocket and now it is up to crowd funding to restore it . Was in Kelvingrove park and they got robbed in my opinion cause when in all its glory easily defeats that grave stone they got now .

In its day this has been a beautiful ornamental fountain, up there with the Doulton and the Stewart Memorial. Sadly, it has not been maintained and is a shadow of its former condition. Some serious TLC is needed!!

Lovely historic cast iron fountain that’s sadly seen much better days. It could really do with a decent paint job and maybe even be switched on occasionally. Just now it mainly seems to collect rainwater and random rubbish.

A taste of Glasgow's past in the wonderful Alexandra Park. Ornate fountain in a state of some disrepair but a glimpse of the city's Victorian heritage.

A lovely piece of Victorian civic architecture. The statues around the fountain represent the virtues that the city fathers wished to see in the inhabitants. sadly wear and tear means the paint is peeling off and the whole edifice is in need of refurbishment.

This fountain sits in the middle of a park surrounding bar beautiful green lawns which are popular with sunbathers (a whole 2 days of the year!) This is Alexander park, probably one of the safest parks in Glasgow and great for feeding the ducks!
