Old fashioned shopping centre with a very strange layout , especially to new visitors. There is now a lot of empty units and what is there isn't top choice sadly. The attached Antonine centre is modern a much better option.

Maybe I'm biased because I live here but in my opinion there's nothing wrong with the place in spite of all the recent negative comments in some papers. Plenty of car parking space and a good selection of shops. See for yourself. 🙂

What's it called ...? Scumbernauld!! ...what's it got ? Not a lot !! Terrible shopping experience from the car park doors with no push or pull sign, the slidy constant wet floors , the awful shops left open beside the graveyard of other awful shops 😅🤯 Ukraine looks more appealing than this place

Homely. You will be made to feel welcomed from first instance. Worship is the best around in my opinion and the heart of the preaching is with passion.

Cumbernauld Town Centre never seems to change. The shops are half decent and there's a few pubs around. Enough amenities but nothing spectacular. Gregg's Subway Costa Coffee SuperDrug Sports Direct All the usual stuff. The people trying to sell stuff to shoppers annoys me, though. If I wanted Sky TV or Broadband, I'd just go subscribe to it through the Internet. I don't need chased down while trying to do some quick shopping. The Centre Cumbernauld is not really something to scream about. Better going to Glasgow if you want good shopping. Buchanan Galleries is right next to the bust station and offers way more than Cumbernauld ever will.

It is the world's first fully covered multi sotry shopping center. It has many shopping stores, a couple of cafés, bank, barber shops, charity shops and many more.

I wouldnt exactly call this a shopping centre, there's Argos, New Look, home bargains and Poundland to name a few stores but there is no shortage of charity shops here. The best place here is the Fork and Coo cafe which offers a good menu with sit in or takeaway options. There is a great little butchers shop, the chipolatas are amazing 👍. Savers has a store here which is always good for branded products at a lesser cost and also Pound Mania, a store that basically sells a bit of everything from tools to yarn, homeware to pet supplies and also vaping products and seasonal goods. If youre looking to go on a shopping spree then avoid heading here, if you're looking to buy a few bits and bobs to top up the cupboards or grab a cuppa then this place is adequate.

A bit run down on the upper level. Lower level fine. Good shops. River Island, tkmaxxx, JD, sports direct, peacocks, new look, Argos, the entertainer, TJ Hughes, card factory, the works, plus more.

Yes, it does ok for a shopping centre in todays current climate. Fair play.

Found a trader who sells traditional bakery scones and scots tablet, and cloutie dumpling from stall really great

The centre is still a rundown mess and while the Antonine side is better it's already covered in water marks where the roof leaks. The old side was embarrassing 20 years ago.

Thanks to the super Trolley Cleaner, who took me to the lifts and showed me where MOBILITY SHOP was situated. It's a huge Centre shame lots of vacant shops. Reliable bus service

Only ever go here for Specsavers. Not much shops available. The centre needs big time upgrading. This is the old side.

If you take away all the empty units, what's left are charity shops hairdressers and nail bars. Not even a decent post office. A really sad place. Well, there is a Wetherspoons right enough!😄

Good shops at start but as you go further in very empty

Needs knocking down. Weird horrible layout, all higgity piggidy and more empty units than occupied units. Escalators don’t work and toilets very hard to find and outdated. The attached newer shopping centre isn’t great but levels above this outdated one.

This shopping centre is cold, unwelcoming and an absolute maze. Signage is very poor - followed signs for toilets and spent 10 minutes searching for them before giving up. Not a good selection of shops either - no wonder it was pretty quiet. Wouldn't recommend - the Antonine Centre across the road isn't great but is a big improvement compared to The Centre.

Great selection of shops and places to eat. All indoor shops. Toilets available throughout Free carpark, wheelchair friendly and easy access to all shops and floors.

As this is the entrance , it won"t excite you. But continue onwards Decent shops, with happy staff. never a problem.

A really great place to visit. Loads of shops and eating places. I really enjoyed my day there.

It really is an embarrassment. Very little choice, a lot of shops have closed down, majority are charity shops. I stay in Cumbernauld and I travel to Livingstone to shop at an actual town centre.

Great place to go me and my friends love going up and spending time there 10 out of 10 would recommend

  • 3/5 Meechy87 1 year ago on Google
Pretty basic for what it is. Too many charity people in the centre that try and stop everyone and the cleanliness in toilets needs alot of work

Lots of vacant shops and its very cold inside. Some useful shops and lots of charity shops for second hand shoppers.

Omg what a wonderful experience in a pleasant environment. The choice of retail outlets is overwhelming. The place is full of characters and has an unique charm. This was my first visit in a few years and I can honestly say it will probably be my last, it's just so fan dabby dozy.

Really in need of an update, buckets everywhere as the roof is leaking and escalator in the old bit only works if once a month and as an elderly person it's not Good, don't like lifts as I have a fear of them.

This place is earmarked for demolition. Can't come quick enough in my opinion. Its served it purpose and needs taken down and rebuilt into some we should be proud of. Cold and damp bus stances are an embarrassment. Please get rid of this place ASAP.

Went there on a Sunday, hardly any shops open. Freezing cold inside, lifts stinking of urine. Completely outdated. Wouldn't recommend.

Cumbernauld shopping centre seems to be unfairly tarred with various derogatory terms such as 'plook on the plinth'. But it is not half-bad and probably the best shopping centre in North Lanarkshire nowadays. Why the best? It actually has a decent selection shops, it is undercover and indoors, there is ample free parking, 2 major supermarkets, plenty of fast food outlets and a fantastic Wetherspoon.

I was always in the centre and barley went into the other centre. Now I am never really in the centre. It's a shame because it could be more attractive and more stores would be willing to open up shop.

Its grim, very very grim. Also smells a bit like pee in the stairs. Probably because people pee in the stairs. Update! Google wants me to update my review... still smells like pee and its still grim. The attatched spoons pub is nice though so they can have an extra star for that.

The whole place needs to be overhauled, with someone who cares passionately about it, as right now it seems to be run by people who don't care and are trying to make as much money before the place shuts from lack of investment and dead eyed councillors.

Alot of empty shops or pound shops. A few decent places to shop but not many. Needs more variance.

This is my local mall. Actually 2 Mallls in one. And has my favourite shop - Castle Comics my go to for all things sci fi, manga, and has a great Warhammer section.

Lots of variety Google is asking if it's changed... So here's my review update on 2/8/23 Most towns have shops open late. Ours is half 5 and earlier on Sundays. The post office is a disgrace never open and when it is sometimes their very rude. Our home bargains has a limited selection now more so because there's a bigger one at the retail park which is hard to get to when you don't drive. This centre itself is a charity shop haven rather than retailers. We do love the fresh fruit and veg shop. New looks debatable but staff are lovely. Butchers used to be great but he heavily inflated his prices during the pandemic and obviously they never came back down. Some food places which are decent and the ones open later have never opened again late again since the pandemic. The building itself is clean, toilets are maintained and hygienic. Any time we have spoken to the guards etc they have always been lovely and very helpful. I do think it seriously needs though rebuilt and accommodating to us who live here.

Not the greatest of retail therapy outlets that ýoù will visit but at least there is a wetherspoons at the end of of your shopping experience, and ample parking.

  • 5/5 Aaron V. 1 year ago on Google
Cool town worth a visit from what my short visit taught me.

  • 2/5 Paul M. 1 year ago on Google
Other than the Argos and Post Office, there is no reason to visit this part of the centre any more since The Antonine Centre opened. Very run down these days and nothing here that you wouldn't find in the Antonone centre nearby.

👍👍 I have never been to a better place in my life. Cumbernauld Town Centre is like a second home to me. Wide range of stores from nerd shops to cool person shops, I appreciate their inclusiveness towards less able people (nerds) and greggs in the town centre is boomshakalaking bangtastic. 👍 Good Retail park plenty of parking, and shops for your weekly shopping needs. not a Retail park in the sense of “clothes shopping” and the likes.
