Metropolitan bar should definitely be on your list of places to check out. My recent visit there left me thoroughly impressed! First and foremost, the steak was cooked to perfection. Tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, it was one of the best I've had in a while. Paired with a glass of red wine that was just the right balance of bold and smooth, it made for a truly memorable meal. But it wasn't just the food that stood out at Metropolitan bar. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with cozy lighting and stylish decor that made for a great ambiance

I could have written the bible in the time it took to get drinks. Luckily, the waiteres memory wasn't that great, so we hot a few for free.

I didn't eat so can only comment on the drinks. I had vegan white wine, and my friends all have various cocktails. It did take quite a while for each individual cocktail to be made, and all the fruit and things in them were prepared to order. The price reflects the quality of the drinks. The member of staff that I spoke to was really friendly and helpful.

The atmosphere is lovely, romantic to share it with a partner or to grab a drink with friends. Great wine and terrace in the undercover garden of Murchant square. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy. Service was a bit slow and when I approached the bar I was told it was table service only - a sign wouldn’t have avoided the awkward exchange. Drinks were overpriced, no other way to put it - £4.50 for a bottle on non-alcoholic beer is too much. A bit too much style over substance for my taste I think, classy but not enough to justify the prices.

Where to start....Walked into this place and was met by a friendly staff member, asked if they did Prosecco by the glass and nice coffee they said yes then we sat and sat and sat, then they brought a menu...They knew what we wanted but made us wait a little more. That said the drinks were lovely, staff great atmosphere 1st class.Pay this place a wee visit.

My friend and i had been shopping in Merchant City Square. We chose Metropolitan for a much needed sit down, coffee ,and perhaps snack . As we entered a waitress was walking toward the bar area. We asked her if they served coffee and snacks .She said yes, so we chose a table. 15 mins later, we are still waiting to be served. There was a male staff member sitting at a nearby table engaged on a laptop. My friend approached him and asked about the lack of service and was told someone should have told you to order at the bar but nobody did and we did speak to a staff member upon entry. My friend was not amused at the lackadaisical attitude and summoning me over said to the laptop guy. Thank you very much, we are leaving, so i cant recommend Metropolitan for anything but its lovely decor.☹

Very nice place to eat. Atmosphere wasn't very good, very quiet, but it was a Tuesday evening. Suited us as we wanted a catchup. Only negative is you need to pay extra for chips and potatoes, they are not included in your main meal. My friend would definitely recommend the wagu beef burger 🍔.

Not best experience here. We had used a voucher via itison and booked an afternoon tea. Cannot recommend based on our experience. Will try other venues before coming back here. Staff appeared disinterested and nobody asked how the food was. Sandwiches had that dry touch to them as if they'd been left out for some time. We both had iffy tummy's later, and whilst may not be due to here, as we'd travelled in by train, we'd not been anywhere else during the day. Coffee was okay though. Shame as a good experience would have brought us back as part of an evening out

Had a Christmas lunch here with the work and it was great! Vegan food was delicous, was a set Christmas lunch, about £30 per person I think. Portions were a little small but good quality food. Malbec was delicous too, approx £24 per bottle. Friendly service, we arrived early and the team were able to accommodate. Really nice atmostphere especially as it was at Christmas time so the place was decorated in lights. would certainly return

Good drinks and good localisation, close to the public transports. The only point I didn't like was that we were in a group of 11 people and they were asking all the time if we were already going, because they wanted to use the table, even if we were still having our drinks. However, there was still some time left. The waitress dropped the whole glass of drink from one of the girls and we didn't have any discount or any other drink.

I was there for a night out last night and the food was out of this world. The smoked salmon was so flavoursome and the pickled cucumber which accompanied it was perfect. I think the slow roast beef must have been roasting since last Christmas, it was so tender. Possibly the nicest beef I have ever eaten. Great cocktails too.

A fancy feel for afternoon drinks with their interior and classy drinks which you need to expect a little bit pricey for the price compared to other bars around Merchant City. It’s a nice place with lovely staff. We enjoyed our wee time here just before our dinner at another restaurant, but will definitely come back for the next visit in Glasgow :) Oh! Don’t forget to book ahead of time, for more convenience.

Great staff and atmosphere. The food is delicious but I wanted more of it! Prices have gone up and portions have gotten smaller post lockdown. Still a fun night out so I'll be back and I'm happy to recommend.

The place is nice so I was surprised it was not full on a Friday night. While the interior is nicer downstairs, it's also louder there, so we were glad to be sat upstairs for food. I had the soup, which was delicious and very filling. The cocktails were delicious, be sure to try the Caribbean punch if you like cocktails. Piña colada and the parma violet ones were also very good. Would happily go back again

Great food, with a special mention for the cream of broccoli soup which was fabulous. A mention too for the waiter Josh who was super friendly and helpful

Lovely 2 course meal from their market menu (Itison deal) with bottle of Prosecco. Honey wings; soup of the day; fish n chips very good light batter; squash curry. All great and generous portions. Polite staff and good service.

Another great place to stop for a refreshing and tasty cocktail. Would highly recommend the Cuban Cherry Pie, priced around £9 which is a the usual price for a good cocktail. Just a little issue and this was probably down to it being busy but kept on getting over looked at the bar as the bar staff did not seem to recognise who had been waiting and who was next to be served. I had to tell them i had been waiting for some time which spoilt the experience.

Beautiful decor, we found this bar by accident so didn't know what to expect and was so impressed when we walked in, we were quite early so the inside section was very quiet, there were more people out on the terrace but we stayed inside. The drinks are a little pricey but no more than expected in a nice cocktail bar, and we enjoyed everything we tried. The rum punch was probably my favourite. Would be really nice to see info on the menu to show which drinks are vegan to avoid having to Google unfamiliar spirits

👍👍 An excellent experience at Miller and Carter tonight. The food came out quickly and was so incredibly delicious - the steak was cooked to perfection and the beef dripping sauce was to die for! All steaks come with house fries they can up upgraded to chunky chips or sweet potato fried but we honestly...
