Fantastic place for getting out into nature. Plenty designated walks (dogs welcome) short and long. Not too much to see and do at the building itself I don't think but a nice cafe. Good big play area for the kids adjacent to main car park. Can be busy on nice days and there can be people, but if you're OK with that the an enjoyable day can be had!

It was a beautiful sunny day and as you can imagine the park was very busy with families couples and individuals. Although it was busy the park is so huge you are not continusly bumping into each other. Huge car park so no issues. Paths well maintained and easy accessible for most people however there are some paths that could be a bit challenging but there are signs giving you information. Would recommend going but please take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery and at the end pop into the cafe and treat yourself to a coffee and cake.

I have visited Chatelherault Country Park many times with my family. It has become a firm favourite for invigorating country walks and family time. It is usually fairly busy but never overcrowded. The actual wooded walks are very relaxing and accessible. I managed to get my youngest comfortably around in a pram. Lots of dog walkers, joggers and the odd cyclist testify this park appeals to all and sundry. The actual country house is open to the public and sometimes hosts educational/community events. Just be aware of the sloping floors for any visitors with mobility issues. There is also a reasonably good cafe. It's not top notch but the hearty soups will warm anyone after being outdoors. The reason I am giving 4 stars as opposed to 5 is the toilet facilities. Whilst the ones there are usually clean and stocked, they could do with more regular checks and a few more stalls. However, I appreciate that the building space is limited and overall, has been planned out very well.

Beautiful grounds and Scottish scenery. Paths and terrain are well maintained. Visitor centre has disabled access, toilets and a cafe. It gets really busy so time your visit either early or late if you can. Sundays 10-4 there is a market with stalls selling local produce and freshly cooked food (pizza, bratwurst, burgers etc). Lovely place to walk and enjoy the fresh air not far from the city

Really great place to cycle round, challenging routes and once you are away from the main visitors center it tends to be very quiet. The house itself is also well worth a visit. The cafe is nice although it does tend to be a little bit busy and hectic at times, but the food is generally worth the wait. Major plus side, the current market being run every Sunday is absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend checking out the fishmongers and the pie stall. There are also Geocaching and Adventure Lab activities to be found here!

Absolutely beautiful park. Amazing views and a good little play area for kids. The visitor centre is free, has a cafe and is really well kept. Lovely for cycling, photography, walks, and family days out. You could spend all day here.

What a delightful area to meander through. Came across this amazingly old wooded area with Wee Maggie out for our Sunday stroll. A very spiritual woodland that has been around for centuries.

Top notch walks and plenty of stuff to do, only issue is the early closure of the cafe and the house being frequently closed to visitors, such a shame given the gorgeous interiors and historical importance. Definitely on the Lanarkshire must see list.

Love this place for long family dog walks especially early in the morning. Plenty of things to see and do. It has everything you need and so much space. Nice areas for a picnic. Plenty car parking also great for those who want to run jog or cycle It can be quite muddy and it's dirt paths in places so definitely need to have correct walking shoes on. Nice views of the river and waterfalls Great location love it

Lots of longs walks but I did get lost and ended up walking miles so watch out for the paths and where you should turn to go back and loop around! Lots of mushrooms!

Best country park I have been to. Proper walks through the woods etc but be warned, one of the bridges is gone and there was no sign to alert us which resulted in a further 90 minute walk to the next bridge and round. Overall though, great scenery and well maintained paths. Playpark for the kids and and decent visitor centre.

Got married there, so I may be biased, but this is a wonderful place to visit. A beautiful historic building on a terrific vantage point. Plus there are wonderful walks and views to be experienced in the grounds. The children too are well catered for with the adventure playground and there is a cafΓ© for when you need to recharge. Don't forget to visit the old oaks!

Few minutes from our house, nice area in general good for running, walking the dog etc. Maybe not so great as a cycle route as there's loads of stairs. White bridge been closed for years and would make the park much better if it had to be reopened as it would give much more in terms of route options. If going with a dog there's definitely a lack of bins around the trails, this leads to people throwing poop bags away rather than disposing of them properly. A few extra bins would be a welcome addition.

It was lovely but call ahead to see if you can walk around the rooms sometimes they have special events happening . The pathways are quite steep so you need good boots and mobility . But I still recommend seeing this place . It is beautiful especially if you go in the summer

Brilliant walk for dogs, beautiful scenery too. I've taken my 7 month old Cockapoo Cara there twice now, and she loves it. She meets lots of different dogs too.

A really good visit, parking is free and so is entrance to the park, there are various things to see while walking round including a large monument and the ruins of Cadzow castle. The lodge is a beautiful building which also has great views down towards Hamilton, it's a shame the palace itself is no longer standing, but you still get a sense of the scale of it. I enjoyed seeing the ancient trees.

Brilliant country park for taking a walk and getting some fresh air and nature. There is plenty of wildlife to see as well. The park includes a visitor centre with an onsite cafe, toilets, shop and small museum. There are plenty of carpark spaces and an on-site playground for families with kids. Certain times of the year, you can see one of the rarest breeds of white cattle in the fields.

Beautiful views and a great choice of walks depending on how much time you have to enjoy the park. The visitors centre feels dated but good for a coffee or hot chocolate on your walk with bins dotted around to get rid of rubbish.

Came here for the market on a Sunday (market is 10 - 4pm) got here for 2pm and people were still turning up, very busy! The market was lovely, lots of variety which was good. Then we went for a wee walk with the puppy, lovely grounds to walk around and so beautiful on a sunny day. Would definitely recommend! Only downside was the lack of bins - we got some good and needed to throw out rubbish, one bin was over flowing and people just threw rubbish on the floor. Luckily we found a vendor who had a spare black bag and took our rubbish.
