I had only one day in Glasgow so I booked a tour to try to see as much as possible. I booked a 5 hour afternoon walking tour. Zhanna has lived in Glasgow for five years, but her knowledge of the town and history was unsurpassed. A truly professional tour guide who seems to love what she does. One of the most informative tours I have taken. Easy walking pace and just a fabulous guide. Anyone who can keep my interest for 5 hours is EXCEPTIONAL.

I signed up for a walking tour when I visited Glasgow. Wasn't sure what to expect but I was extremely impressed. I had the lovely Zhanna as my guide and enjoyed my time with her. I was met at my accommodation & visited lots of interesting places in Glasgow. Zhanna knew a lot about the history of the city & was able to answer any questions I had. This tour was one of the highlights of my time in Glasgow. I would highly recommend Glasgow Private Tours.

This will be my only visit to Glasgow ever.Haley was a great walking tour guide for central Glasgow, knows her stuff, presents it well, great response to questions and excellent advice on other attractions to visit and how to get there and all delivered in the rain. Excellent booking and payment arrangements -great value for money Well done Haley and Nick

Absolutely loved our private tour. Even though I've been based in Glasgow for over 15 years I've never done a tour to find out more about the city. The price was very reasonable and afterwards we realised it was excellent value for money. The tour guide Zhanna was brilliant, had lots of knowledeg and great personality. There's so much to say but why not give them a go and book a tour today, its great!

Zhanna was the perfect guide to show us around Glasgow! She was kind, prepared (she carries a book with visual aids), very knowledgeable, engaging, and entertaining. The pacing was relaxed and comfortable. We learned so much! The booking process was easy - great, fast communication with Nick. I would highly recommend Glasgow Private Tours!

This past July we visited Glasgow and enjoyed a half day city tour with Andrea. She provided a wealth of information and effectively used the city as a backdrop for her many stories about Glasgow's history and development. Most worthwhile and enjoyable!

My wife and I booked the half-day walking tour while in Glasgow for our honeymoon. Our guide Haley seems to know the city inside and out -- from history to architecture to contemporary culture (Outlander filming locales!). She had countless interesting stories to share. We toured the Cathedral and Necropolis, George Square, Buchanan Street, and the key sites of St. Mungo. We learned the origin of the phrases "to get off Scot free" and "to turn a blind eye." We found out why the Duke of Wellington statue is constantly covered in traffic cones. And of course, we had a lovely break for tea and scones. Haley's enthusiasm for Glasgow is readily apparent, and she was a wonderful host for a fascinating city.

Zhanna gave us a great "Glasgow Must See Walking Tour".She was at our meeting spot on time;she was very kind , friendly ,informative and responsive. We found the Tour long at 5 hours especially without lunch. We would suggest breaking it up into two 3 hour stand-alone Parts so that people can decide to call it after 3 hours OR go to lunch for an hour or more and do Part 2 after. But overall it was a good day and I would certainly use Glasgow Private Tours in the future.

Zhanna, heavily pregnant, showed us round delightful Glasgow on a very cold and frosty day last December. Being from Russia it was probably quite warm for her, but bitterly cold for us southern softies. However, Zhanna managed to make us forget the cold with a very interesting and informative tour. Her friendly and open style made it very easy for us. Steve & Hilary, Wales

My sister and I recently took this tour while visiting Glasgow and it was absolutely wonderful! Our tour guide, Haley, had a great personality and was so knowledgeable about the city. She was also able to give us tourists some great recommendations on local places to eat and drink. Definitely recommend!

The guides of this company may be very good - if you get to use them. Unfortunately this was not our case. We booked and paid the guide and then just 1 day before the scheduled tour of our clients they did let us down, simply saying the guide's child had an illness and they were sorry and issued a refund without even trying to find an alternative solution. A real professional should have been taking totally in charge this situation, not discharging it on us. Things like this can always happen but it's how you manage them that makes the difference. In this case I can not evaluate the behavior of the manager Nick as professional as he left us in a difficult situation with the client just 1 day before the service.

Well organised, knowledgeable guide. We were collected form our hotel exactly on time and were greeted by our guide who although Russian knew Glasgow much better than I did - and I was born there! Well worth the money.

We had an excellent walking tour of the West End with our guide Zhanna from Glasgow Private Tours. She was very knowledgeable, showed up outside our Airbnb at the appointed time, and took us to interesting sites. The tour was flexible, so, for example, we could spend sufficient time in the wonderful Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum (with a large Charles Rennie Mackintosh exhibit, good art works, and a nice science and natural history section). The tour also took as to the Glasgow Botanic Garden with its Kibble Palace conservatory, the University of Glasgow (very interesting buildings and the thrill of seeing William Thompson Lord Kelvin's offices), and the Hunterian Museum (with a reconstructed Charles Rennie Mackintosh house). Nick Field, the coordinator, was very responsive and helpful in making arrangements. I would recommend Glasgow Private Tours without hesitation.

We had the extended walking tour with Zhanna on a Sunday in July and were extremely satisfied. Our highly competent tourist guide showed us the best of Glasgow and kept a beautiful balance between information and entertainment. Everybody coming to Glasgow for the first time will enjoy and take great profit from this tour.

(Translated by Google) This was a very good day trip Our guide was incredible and she told them in a very good and exciting way. The advantage of booking a tested tour is that you can really get answers to all your questions. The guide was very good at adjusting the trip according to our interests.

Zhanna was absolutely lovely and provided such a splendid tour of Glasgow! It was amazing to learn about the rich history and culture of the area. I never realized how many stories lie in every little corner of the city. Zhanna is such a bright and passionate guide with a wonderful energy, and I feel so fortunate to have taken my first tour of Glasgow with her! Will be back in the future :)

Absolutely loved the tour with Zhanna a couple of weeks ago! She clearly was passionate about the city. She talked about Glasgow engagingly and in great detail. For me, it was the best introduction of the place I will be spending most of my time in this year. Highly recommended!

The guided tour was perfect for the area. A mix of cultural, shopping, eateries, history - a great introduction to Glasgow. The guide was very personable and knowledgeable of the history of buildings and people that lived there. The tour time and quality is well worth the cost.

I had the pleasure of taking the Glasgow 'Must Sees' tour with Andrea and it was one the most memorable days of my Scotland trip. I was there on a day trip from Edinburgh and it was a great way to cover the important sights. The office was efficient in the booking process and reconfirming a few days ahead. Highly recommend....a great big thanks Nick and Andrea!!!!

This company is the best. I'm SO glad I chose them for my Glasgow Tour. Zhanna was a fantastic tour guide. Drivers picked us up at the ship and took us into Glasgow and introduced us to her and then picked us up after the tour for return to the ship. It was all very reasonable. A great value all around. Highly recommend.

We had a Wonderful tour with Haley a few weeks ago. Haley was incredibly friendly and was able to answer all of our questions. The tour itself was extremely informative! This was definitely one of the best tours I have ever been on, and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Glasgow!

Because of a flight delay, we were four hours late for our scheduled tour, but Glasgow Private Tours graciously rescheduled us for later in the day. Zhanna's five-hour walking tour took us to some incredible sites. There were only four of us on our private tour, so we had lots of interaction with her and found her to be a very interesting, knowledgeable guide. Although we left Glasgow the next morning, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit because of the tour.

Great tour! Would recommend to anyone looking to learn more about beautiful Glasgow. Zhanna made each and every one of us feel very welcome and gave us a lovely afternoon, very enjoyable!

Had some friends visiting Glasgow for the first time and I was ashamed to say I'm a bit of a poor tour guide! So I opted to join them for the day and you know what, Glasgow is pretty interesting! Our tour guide was really lovely, super friendly and put up with a lot of our mad questions. And while I could probably give friends 'the Glasgow tour' myself now, I'd much rather give this wee company our money again. Highly recommend them!

My Husband and I had a wonderful tour with Elsa yesterday! She was prompt in meeting us in our hotel lobby. She was beyond knowledgeable about current topics and history. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch together and enjoyed each others company. I hated seeing our tour come to an end. Definitely request Elsa as your guide if you get the opportunity.

What a great tour! It was fun to walk around the city, the guide gave us lots and lots of interesting info, kept it upbeat and friendly for us. Went above and beyond in every way. Would totally recommend these guys.

It was our first visit to Glasgow so we wanted to learn as much about the history, architecture and culture as we could in the limited time we had. We decided a tour on foot would be the best approach for us and searched for a suitable guide. We lucked out. We booked through Glasgow Private Tours and, met our charming guide, Haley. We lucked out too with the weather....a beautiful sunny Spring morning. In short, Haley provided us with a thorough overview as we walked around this beautiful city and easily answered our many questions. We would have no hesitation in recommending Glasgow Private Tours. A very positive experience and, as a bonus, at a very reasonable price!

We had the pleasure of having Elsa as our tour guide....she was so knowledgable and entertaining....and patient with our group. She had answers to all our questions and made sure we had a fantastic experience. She kept at a pace we could all walk comfortably and shared so much history about this beautiful city.

  • 5/5 Dani T. 4 years ago on Google
We had a great tour with Elsa, she was amazing with our group - any off the script, off the cuff & weird questions we had - she had answers. Very knowledgeable about her beautiful city and the historical sites. Highly recommend. Ask for Elsa, you'll want to take her home with you too! (In a totally, non-creepy way)
