The Busby informed my friend the day after her wedding (which should be a day of relaxation and happiness) that my friend and I had stolen a bottle of alcohol and that they had it on CCTV. My friend then went on her honeymoon and was robbed of an enjoyable holiday as she was so stressed from all the allegations and police threats. Upon returning she contacted us and we told her that we had taken a glass from the bar (we luckily had footage of this as people were dancing next to us). We also had told a member of staff at the time we had taken the glass. The hotel then said they hadn't done a stock check and that the footage they had you actually couldn't see anything. I am just so appalled and shocked that a hotel would not carry out a thorough investigation before giving a bride this stress and threatening police involvement. This could have easily all been avoided if the hotel had immediately done a stock check after thinking something had been stolen. Surely this is actual common practice. I am actually so disgusted and shaken at this incident. A few of my friends who were present were actually considering the Busby for their weddings and this has left a sour taste in everyone's mouth. The greatest upset of the incident for me is that if we did not have the recording we would have had police involvement which is unimaginable. Our names would have been tarnished and several friendships and relations would have been up in turmoil from these allegations. It has causes so much distress and quite frankly ruined what should have been such a lovely and special time for everyone.

Lovely clean, modern room. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Had dinner and it was very tasty with good portions. Our first time there and couldn't fault it. We plan to go back.

Travelled here for a wedding. The room was nice, clean and a decent size. Beds were also comfy. The shower was great. Staff all seems friendly. Cant really comment on location as never explored the area. The wedding was beautiful and the food that was served was lovely.

We stayed for 1 night after a concert in Glasgow and would recommend the hotel. The staff was amazing especially on check in, giving us the information to get a taxi over there which we also used to come back late on Friday night. The breakfast was prepared fresh and really good. Finally, the rooms seem to have been renovated recently, really clean and practical.

Worst experience i’ve ever had, i had came here with my family for Father’s day and i had ordered a salted caramel latte and it tasted like they had just poured in the syrup. I asked for some halloumi with the breakfast and the women serving me came out and said The halloumi we have is out of date, then asked me if i wanted it. Then they forgot many things with our breakfast platter, and the serving sizes were shocking for the price, as for the platter for “4”, served in this platter was 5 small sausages, 2 pancakes, 1 waffle, some scrambled eggs, beans, small side of berries and cream, and 4 rashers of bacon, which resulted in my mum dad and brother having a breakfast which consisted of half a pancake, 1 small sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 spoonful of scrambled egg, half of a tomato, 2 waffle sticks and 1 tea spoon of berry compote. Completely shocking for the money.

Beautiful hotel, staff very good except for one member. Don't remember his name but he was very shabby dressed not engaging with customers complaining he was the only one on serving drinks. When i was waiting to be served he started picking his nose then he handled my piece of lime with his fingers to put in my drink. Other people in the queue noticed and commented. He didn't seem happy at his work. The rest of the staff where very smart and tidy and the service was great. This is a lovely venue for a wedding. Had a lovely day and would recommend it.

The welcome was great. Was given a glass of bubbly for my wife as it was her birthday. Room was great albeit extremely warm. Breakfast was terrific. All staff very friendly round the place. Not one member would go by without a hello. Recommend

Normally, i stay in Premier Inn when travelling for work, but as all hotels full I got put in The Busby Hotel and Wow, I'm so glad I did. Beautiful place to stay and for the same price. My room had a fully stocked mini bar with snacks if I needed it. Winner winner!

I loved this place! We only used it as a one night stop over as we passed through Glasgow but wow it was absolutely lovely. The receptionist was really kind and helpful - I have MS and can occasionally struggle with showering and they offered me a room upgrade for a very reasonable price for a bathtub or to have a shower chair put into the bathroom before I arrived. They had no problem at all with us bringing in our own takeaway dinner too. Breakfast was amazing! We ate probably far too much but it was all so yummy I'd do it again. Can't wait to stay again soon I hope!

I attended my son Matthew and his husband Marcs wedding there yesterday. It was flawless from start to finish and such a fantastic day . The staff at the Busby were exceptional and it will be day I never forget. Thank you so much for making my sons wedding day just perfect 🥰

Myself and my fiancee have our wedding booked with the hotel for next year. We decided to take trip over to have a late lunch. My Fiancee ordered mac cheese, I had the steak pie. Apparently the mac cheese was rather tasteless. My steak pie was nice but gave me severe indigestion later. Hopefully our wedding day food will be of a much higher standard.

I was at an evening wedding reception, so can only comment on the reception hall. Lovely big room with nice decor. lovely floor to dance on and it was big enough for those that danced.

Came here for a 2 night stay for my partners birthday, can't express enough how much we loved it here. Fantastic service from all the lovely, friendly staff. Nothing was a hassle for them they really made it perfect for us. The food and drinks were also just perfect 🥰 The room was spacious with spa bath and monsoon shower which almost made us never leave our room lol. Honestly the best stay away we have ever had. Absolute pleasure and would 100% recommend here. Thank you busby Hotel for a brilliant couple of days and look forward to booking with you again soon 😀 😊 Craig and Kirsten sinclair

A lovely stay at the Busby Hotel. Super friendly staff, amazing breakfast and a great night sleep. The hotel decor is stunning and sets a really nice atmosphere throughout the reception and restaurant too Would highly recommend.

Great modern hotel which gives a more personal feel, better rooms and better value than a large chain. Brilliant service, thanks to the breakfast chef for the perfect poached eggs at the end of breakfast service. We would stay here again when in the area.

Attending my best friends' wedding here and it was beautiful. The staff could not have been more accommodating. The meal was delicious, I didn't hear anyone saying anything but good things about it. I was shown a couple of the suites and they are fantastic. The suites are massive and have everything you could need in them.

The best food I've eaten at a hotel! Quality is fantastic. Room is stunning. Shower is great and high water pressure. Even Large TV and ceiling speaker in bathroom. Service is very professional and friendly.

Was here for a family member's special birthday. There were 16 of us in the party. The food was excellent. The service was fantastic - nothing was too much trouble and the staff that were serving us went above and beyond to make sure that everything was just right. I highly recommend here

Elegance and pristine service. A classy experience with reasonable prices. Will return because I deserve it ☺️ I didn't stay yet so cannot comment on their rooms. I suspect they will be divine ❤️

The Busy Hotel looks nice, looks like it would be good - but the food is AWFUL, like REALLY awful! It's cheap, low quality ingredients, frozen then microwaved. mashed potato is like school dinners, not fresh made, microwaved with in an inch of it's life, gravy packet stuff, low quality meat, all of it is so bad! We ordered our son a pizza - it was one of those super cheap frozen pizza bases with bad tomato sauce (tasted like soup!) with melted cheese (grated cheddar cheese) not a proper pizza at all, like a really cheap one that a child could have made at home- it would still have tasted rotten but at least it would have been cheap! Nothing is fresh, lettuce from a bag, everything pre made, from jars.... such a shame as a lovely setting, great refurb and REALLY poor food!

Had a lovely time staying two nights for a family wedding. The 'double' room was a huge disappointment at £269. No space to walk round a crowded room without banging your shins every time on the corner of the wooden bed base. Very bad lighting in the room and bathroom. Single wardrobe provided with broken door.

We just had our wedding day at The Busby Hotel. Our first initial visit to view the hotel was good, Megan showed us around the hotel and gave us all of the information we needed. We actually booked there and then. Megan is very professional and welcoming and stays in touch with you on the lead up to the big day. Our wedding day was perfect from start to finish and we wish we could do it all over again. All of the staff at The Busby were so friendly and helpful, especially on the morning of the wedding as a nervous bride. The rooms are lovely and spacious if you are staying the night before and plan to get ready at the hotel. The honeymoon suit is amazing and great for your getting ready pictures in the morning. The food was really lovely and good portion sizes. We had a few family members with some food allergies the staff did accommodate for this, although was proven difficult at some point to arrange food for my nephew that has numerous allergies and had a bit of a mix up on the day I feel with this but other than that everything was great. I would highly recommend The Busby hotel and can’t wait to come back for our one year anniversary.

We had no idea that this hotel would be so busy! A wedding was in full swing when we arrived & we were staying as family had just moved into the area & we needed a base. However we could not fault this place. We were made most welcome. The staff were excellent. Despite being busy we were well looked after. The room was super. Spotless. Super bathroom, comfortable bed, pillows etc. Breakfast time was busy after the wedding but we couldn’t fault the food or service, certainly day 2 was even better....cooked to order! An excellent wedding venue but equally a superb place to stay for any occasion. We will definitely be back.

Attended a wedding,we booked in April for the wedding in September, lovely meal soup was delicious, beef tasted amazing sticky toffee pudding lovely, card only for the bar which was fine, some of the staff was a bit rude but I guess they are tired later on at night, breakfast was nice in the morning but had to ask for toast then butter and then cutlery? . I went to check out was asked if I had taken anything from the mini bar advised no that's £20 then WHAT I have paid for a family room yes but it's booked a long time ago, excuse me it was booked the same year as the wedding what is the £20 for you had a fold down bed , yes that's a family room, ridiculous , did not pay the extra. Later I was charged £1.80 for crisps I did not have , called Busby reception apologies must have had two accounts open at same time now I have to wait for refund it won't break the bank but they were quick in saying I owed them money but not quick in refunding their mistake. They did advice me that my granddaughter had left her stich soft toy she sleeps with was found in the fold away bed , thank you for holding this until we picked it up later that day as all things left in the rooms are put a cupboard but you need to call and ask as they don't call you to advise which I suppose can be a nightmare for the hotel.

Went for a meal last week. Previous meals had been excellent. This time very disappointing. Changed menu. Fish and chips was a very small piece of fish which looked and tasted as if brought in ready breaded and frozen. Three members of party ordered haggis. All left half and said it just wasn't good. Rhubarb crumble didn't appear to have been in oven and rhubarb was stringy. Very disappointed. Won't be back. Further annoyance is their refusal to take cash payments. Difficult when dining with several friends.

I've been to two weddings here in 2022, as a wedding venue it's ok - but it is expensive - Both weddings were Scottish, and yet at one the bars didn't have whisky. (That was a bit of a surprise). If you are driving, parking is absolutely fine - plenty of space - so good job there. There's a lovely balcony that serves as an excellent spot in good weather for photos and fresh air, with sturdy outdoor tables & seating. There was a sweet cart on for children et al which was lovely to look at and well stocked, though some of the sweets tasted a bit stale. (eg: coconut mushrooms) The food was 'middle of the road'. I honestly expected better, the first time around. The starter was tasteless on both occasions (soup with cold mini bread roll - a warmed bread roll with a mini butter portion could easily fix this). The main was great at one (Steak Pie) but dreadful at the other (Chicken), & the sweet was delicious at one (Profiteroles) and dreadful at the other (v dry chocolate cake) I did notice a risk/hazard during the meal that will likely cause accidents if repeated. (The cable trap/uneven floor along main causeways between tables caught one toe during the meal - sending the involved guest right off balance). The staff were perfectly decent on both occasions - honestly - hats off to them! I didn't stay over due to commitments - so can't rate rooms. However the family who did stay described them as 'decidedly average'. Both newly weds reported the same dysfunctional facilities in the bridal suite on each occasion - (yet the weddings were 7 months apart) - that may tell you something. I'm sure, on both occasions - both sets of newly weds were offered a free night at the Busby hotel or partner hotel by way of apology...(which is something at least). Would I get married here? to be perfectly honest - It's unlikely - but I did have a lovely, memorable day & both newly weds were happy with their day - so that also tells you enough! Should you choose to get married here - have a great time, the staff are lovely.

I can’t thank The Busby enough for making our special day the best ever. Throughout the planning Megan was incredible and was always there to answer any questions or settle any worries we had. Megan was great at recommending suppliers and getting us organised to ensure we had everything covered for our day - some of the things I hadn’t even thought of! We dropped off lots of decor the night before and the team did an amazing job at setting up the room alongside Enlighten My Day - it looked exactly like we had imagined. Then on the day the whole staff team were absolutely outstanding. We got married at the Church and when we arrived Natalie and Margo ensured that everything went so smoothly and were always on hand to help any of our guests. The venue itself was absolutely perfect and the dance floor was never empty. The Busby DJ, who played at the buffet and after the band, took requests and made sure everyone was happy with the song choices and ensured any songs my husband and I wanted went to the top of the list so thank you very much! Everyone was more than pleased with their dinner (the beef, chicken vegetarian and vegan options were all commented on), and the buffet was gone before I even got to it! At the tables, the team were great at swapping out our wine package to ensure people had the type of wine they wanted. Natalie and the team ensured the whole bridal party were where they were meant to be at all times, and I felt completely relaxed all day. Couldn’t recommend them enough and all our amazing suppliers made our day perfect. A massive thank you to you all.

Stayed here for a few days. Lovely clean hotel with superb friendly staff that couldn't do enough for us. Had a couple of issues while we were there, but they were sorted very quickly by Julie who was non stop all the time we were there. She never stopped and everytime our glasses were running low she was quickly over with another. Nice comfy rooms with everything you need. wouldn't hesitate to stay there again when in the area.

Overnight stay following a wedding. Room was lovely, very clean and cosy on a cold night. Bed comfortable which ensured a great night's sleep. Breakfast in the morning was too class - plenty of choice and food piping hot, very enjoyable. Decor in the breakfast room was lovely too so overall, it was a fantastic stay. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again.
