My mom and I like trying new burger places from tik tok so when i saw this one i knew we had to go. We ordered 3 burgers and all 3 of them were burned on the bottom. the photos you see are of both of my moms which are both burned. mine looked similar. also, she ordered mush rooms on one of her burgers (which is a dollar extra, by the way) and she got maybe 1 whole mushroom worth of food. this is even more frustrating because people who walked in after us were getting their burgers before us. this isn’t to say that their food is bad- the cheese curds were phenomenal & we loved the pierogis, plus all the sauces were amazing. but to pay so much and have the thing we were most excited to try wind up being burned is very disappointing. since we ordered takeout you will probably have a better experience if you dine in EDIT: since the owner provided me with some riveting insight, i just want to add my own culinary expertise as a PAYING customer- a 13 dollar burger with a “sear” should not be crispy. really wish the trip was worth it

Tucked away in a strip mall in Sewell, NJ, this burger joint is an absolute gem! I can see why so many people rave about this place, and they deserve every compliment. They have all types of meat, and they also serve a fantastic Beyond Burger veggie patty, one that doesn't end with a taste of synthetic meat.. In addition, their sides are different from the normal fries and onion rings.. They have fries, truffle fries, but they also have onion skins, which were thinly sliced onions, fried to a crisp but still flexible, served with a spicy aoili type dipping sauce which was phenomenal. The unique thing about Burger Barr is their buns: they have multiple bun options, including a soft pretzel bun, which added a great unique flavor to my burger. I ordered a Veggie burger (Beyond Burger) with pretzel bun and onion skins.. The cheese was the default, as was the sauce (special sauce). The burger was incredibly juicy, the sauce was made to perfection, the bun was clearly a pretzel but was fantastic and definitely the right choice. The onion skins were crisp and paired perfectly with the spicy sauce! I felt very full after finishing, and couldn't tell that my burger wasn't real meat.. I can only imagine how amazing their actual beef tastes! I'll be coming back here soon (with my wife, she was upset that she didn't get to experience it with me and super jealous after I recounted the entire taste experience for her). BTW, service was fast and they're grilling it all in front of you in the back! Fresh! Thanks Burger Barr!

I don't eat red meat, but the impossible burger and chicken options are delicious! The sauces are sublime, the sides are outstanding! They have so many combinations of toppings you could try something new every single time.

After reading a review on top burger joints in New Jersey, Burger Barr was #1 in South Jersey. Finally made a trip here and it was worth every penny. The food was excellent, the food portions were satisfying, & the chicken was marinated nicely. This establishment checked all the boxes, from one of the owners handling the customers & helping with the food preparation to the other owner on the grill, customer service was excellent, the food was excellent, & the establishment was clean. My husband and I will be returning.

I forgot to take a picture beforehand because I was mesmerized by how amazing it looked and needed it in my belly asap. I had the wagyu burger with bacon and cooper sharp. I can honestly say that this was the best burger of my life. Nothing comes close. I’m new to the area and they just scored a customer for life. The owner seems like an awesome guy, and the cook absolutely perfected my burger. I’m already daydreaming about my next stop here!

Best burgers in south Jersey. Love this place. If you’re a “well done” meat eater, don’t ruin their burgers!!! Medium well at best, and that’s probably too well done. If you don’t use at least 5 napkins while eating these delicious juicy burgers, you didn’t order correctly! Great sides and a hand made milkshake to wash it down is totally worth the price!

Great experience from the time I walked in until the last bite! First time here, customer service was excellent, order was ready quickly and everything had a proper cook. We had the blend burger with sharp, house sauce on brioche, chicken sandwich with garlic aioli, Mac bites and fries. Man the fries were excellent and everything was seasoned perfectly. You have to try this place if you are in the area.

This place….THIS place! Honestly I have yet to have a better burger than I’ve had here. All of their food is made fresh to order and the best quality you can get. All of their sauces are house made and it shows. Fell free to ask for a suggestion or even if you’re looking to mix things up! Austin is super friendly and always looking to help. My go-to is The Blend cooked med-rare on their Texas Toast with smoked Gouda and cooler sharp, bacon, caramelized onions, and cherry bbq sauce. Their crispy onion strings and cheese curds are a must as well! My wife’s go-to is their chicken and MAN is it freaking awesome!! Don’t pass up on this place, I know I did for wayyyy too long and I absolutely regret that.

Been wanting to try this place since I heard it opened. My father in law and I went there one day to grab a quick bite. The place was empty at lunch time, which was surprising. The place was pretty clean and we were directed to the menu when we entered. After ordering, our food was cooked rather fast and brought to us. My burger was just a traditional burger and I can't remember what my father in law ordered but here really liked it. My burger was surprisingly sweet. It was really an interesting taste, but I think I liked it! I'll need a second helping to figure it out. The fries were small cut and also tasty.

Super friendly, very personal, patient, and helpful when ordering, prepared as ordered, and by far the best burger I have gotten in any restaurant in years. It's better than we could make it at home. We loved it and will go back.

Let me start by saying the place was clean and the staff was friendly. Food wise, the sides were just okay. Fries with good, cheese curds average, and the onion strings were a little lacking. Luckily the burgers we tried were exceptional. You can customize them how you like, but you know each ingredient is going to be fresh and the burger cooked perfectly. Very juicy. I would go back to try more of the burgers.

Great burgers and fantastic, crispy fries served by really nice group of people working their butts off. I had the Kobe beef burger with cheese, caramelized onions and fried onions. Really delicious. The fries were great. Super crunchy outside and soft inside with a horseradish dip to add some kick. Highly recommended.

Went with my son last night, the burgers are cooked fresh and to order and were amazing. It’s great you can pick your meat(or impossible burger) and choose a bun along with different toppings. While the burgers were great, the fries were nothing to run home about. We had the cheese fries and just weren’t impressed. They have a nice sauce selection but IMO $1 is a bit much for the serving size you are getting.

Great small business. Only tried burgers, grilled cheese and fries and all were excellent! Good size burgers, one order or fries big enough for 2 adults to share. No kids menu, but we got a grilled cheese for My picky toddler and he loved it. Very clean. Nice atmosphere.

I had heard of this place as the best burger in NJ. Nice since its close rather than in North Jersey like so many other ratings. The hype is legit. Got the Blend because I like my ground meat well done. It was great - forgot the sautéed onions but will try next time. Fries perfectly cooked and seasoned. Great presentation and the bacon added a nice saltiness. The guys could not have been more friendly as well. Fantastic!!!! I will definitely be back!
