Excellent hotel! As soon as i walked through the door, both gentleman at the front desk were very welcoming and polite. We came here to bring my little one to the pool, a tad bit on the cold side but he still had a blast. Beds were comfortable, clean spacious room. Breakfast was outstanding! The women in the kitchen i believe her names Tanya, went above and beyond for us! She talked with my little one and made him feel so happy. Hopefully we’ll be back soon!

Terrible service from the woman, Samantha, who books all of the room blocks. Her communication skills are subpar. She didn’t even book the bride and groom our room for the nights requested. The general manager Brian makes excuse after excuse for her poor work. When you ask questions he belittles you and tells you “you should’ve stay someplace else”. He’s right about that. We were given a handicap room and the rail in the shower was hardly attached- thank god we didn’t need it. Be cautious staying here if you decide to.

Nice hotel. Room was very spacious and comfortable. It was also clean. The only issue I had was that the water in the shower did not drain very well and the tub filled up with water pretty quick. The wifi service was good.

I often stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels. They tend to be where I am going. I usually have a good experience. They are generally clean, quiet, and well maintained. This property was clean and quiet, but poorly maintained. Our room was quite warm, but the heating system was set to 68. We turned it down, but it was still running. We had to unplug the unit. Next, the window shade did not got all the way down, so a very bright street light shined into our room all night. Lastly, there was hot water for my shower, but not when I shaved.

From the time that we entered the hotel, the staff was very warm and friendly. They provided great service during our stay. The room was quite large, very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. We were surprised to see all the great Dove products that were supplied for hair and bath. We were visiting family in the area and if we returned we would certainly would stay there again.

Got in at 10 pm with 3 yr old they had given away our room took 20 minutes to get a room. Then key did not work, went down to get it recalibrate did not work again, tried one more time and still did not work. Now like 11 pm they say they need to fix the door. Luckily we were with someone else and could swap rooms so we could go to bed. half hour later they fix the door to learn someone is in that room. Luckily they find another room, like 2 and half hours after we first tried to check in. They said like 5 times they would make it right. At checkout they half heartedly offer a 50 discount on 500 stay, and then say they cannot so anything as we did not book through hotel directly. Disgraceful. People we talked to were nice and all, but just a mismanaged mess. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Perfect spot to hunker down. Right in the center of branford with several local food spots near by and close to highways. Room was pretty clean for the most part. A few carpet stains and small stains elsewhere, but over all good stay and would stay there again. Staff was very friendly. There was a group of kids, maybe a sports team staying there that weekend, they made the 3rd floor hallways their playground until about 1am on the Saturday night. Not the hotels fault. But was not ideal. Again, over all was a good stay and would do it again.

They turn air-conditioning totally off this time of year told us to open window tried to but they had it blocked by something screwed in the track so it only opened half an inch. Shower handle was broken had to fight with it to get it to work. Loud all hours front desk girl told my husband if he didn't like it to leave and go somewhere else

This place was actually really nice! The young guy at the front deck Coty super sweet! The manager was very nice! Room and bathroom clean, beds super comfy! Breakfast was surprisingly a bit on the healthier side which was nice.

Pretty new and updated BUT had to wait like 3 minutes to get hot water to come out of sink and shower every time!! And the temp control doesn’t have an AUTO setting. Lots of banging in the hallway..

I would personally never stay here again. The elevator is old and my friends both got stuck in it. My fiancé who is handicap was on the 3rd floor and we asked when it would be up and running again as we needed to check out. I was met with extreme attitude and they stated “not sure how long it will take, maybe a few hours”. Instead of offering a solution, we had to call our family to come back and help carry my fiancé down 3 flights of stairs in his wheelchair. We were told rooms would be comped, then the next day they charged us for both rooms. Very unfortunate situation, but if I was met with compassion and we were treated like a guest, it would be less of an issue. Instead, they never helped us, or even offered assistance, they were rude and felt like they were inconvenienced by us. Manager yelled at my father and told him he would call the cops on him for asking about a refund.

Had a long tiring drive from MA to Brandford for a wake. After the three hour wake, just wanted to get into bed. Dragged all my stuff down to the room and the room keys wouldn't work. The woman at the desk was gracious and came to help. I entered the room and unpacked. I went to call the front desk to see when breakfast was. The phone didn't work! Never seen that before in a hotel. I was told that they will tell maintenance in the morning. No one on duty at night? Then I woke up really cold at 3:00 am and the heater/AC system wouldn't work!!! What are the odds? I told the manager in the morning and his first response was, "Well, we have 96 rooms!" I guess he meant that having three issues in one room is not a surprise because of all the rooms they have to take care of. Really?

Customer service is terrible, we had a reservation for 3, one being our child. There was no reservation and we were told there was nothing they could do we weren't in the system, my husband demanded to speak to the general manager and he was totally rude, not helpful, really didn't care. I am disgusted with Holiday Inn Express in Branford. Very rude attitudes. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

My family of 4 stayed there for the weekend because we had an event in the area. Check-in was super fast and easy. Everyone one at the front desk was extremely kind to everyone. We were pleasantly surprised with the free breakfast; the ladies keeping it stocked and clean were amazing! The hotel was clean and we were able to use the pool area. We highly recommend the 9 East Hibachi Grill across the street.

We stayed here as part of a group. The hot breakfast was great but they didn't have coffee out in the early morning for those of us who are early risers. Yes there is a machine in the room but after one cup there wasn't enough creamier for another. The room was clean and large! The location is great and near the Woodwinds.

Great stay at this hotel! Fantastic location, super clean and the front desk attendant, Ian, could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Don’t second guess for a moment staying here…you wont be disappointed!

Stayed 3 nights. The room was never cleaned between nights which was OK with me. All I requested was clean towels. I only used the facial bar soap & the liquid bodywash supplied in the shower. That's it... I was charged extra for these "incidentals" which is crazy if you ask me.

We aren't finished with our experience yet, but late night check in was excellent. Friendly, efficient! The bed is extremely comfortable and very clean. Having a great time so far!

Rooms are recently updated and clean, perfect if you are staying for an event or just need to crash for a night while on the road. Every staff member I spoke to was kind and engaging! The free breakfast was as expected, hot food was so-so but they have plenty of packaged products that will get the job done! There are also some great local breakfast spots nearby!

Be sure to check the bill before checking out. We had an invoice slipped under our door around 6am with almost $15 in "sundries" charges, when we asked what it was for they said for waters we ordered (we didn't order anything). After arguing with them for a minute they said they would removed the charges "as a Christmas present". They also said the pool was closed "due to covid" but the gym was still open 24 hours, apparently its not safe to swim in chlorinated water in a huge room but you can jog on an indoor treadmill and sweat all over the machines in the closet they call a gym.
