First of all I had been looking for a soul food restaurant for awhile and Della J’s was suggested. We went on a Thursday evening and there was live music. The music was concert quality, absolutely amazing, but it did make it a bit loud inside. Our server was relatively quick with taking our orders and the food came out piping hot. The portions are quite large, so we were too stuffed for dessert. Overall it was an awesome experience and I can’t wait to go back and try a different dish!

This is a restaurant that moved from Springfield, VA, into this building which was previously a Ruby Tuesday. An upgrade from their original location. Spacious and well decorated. The food was great. We started with the hush puppies. I had the jambalaya. My dining companions had pork chops and the chicken biscuit. All delicious. Our server was excellent. A live jazz band on Thursday nights. Check it out.

The ambiance is very nice and the staff is friendly! Very soulful… The catfish is cooked to perfection and the bread pudding is delicious! We really enjoyed our dining experience here! We look forward to returning and highly recommend this restaurant.

We tried this place for the first time and we'll definitely be back. They would have got 5 stars but I'm big on customer service and so i dont like when you as a customer walk in the place and 3 employees are talking to each other not helping anyone and see you but just stand there and don't speak. However, the place quickly redeemed themselves once we were seated. Our server was amazing, great personality and took care of us from start to finish. The drinks, food, atmosphere was great. The music played at a perfect volume and I feel like we were enjoying the music just as much as the food. On Thursday nights they have live music. All in all I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Can't go wrong here if you want some Southern Cooking. The place was a little loud but family friendly. Then again we walked in on a high-school reunion. Despite this we had good service. Prices are mid-high but generous portions. Food is delicious and cooked to order. Service checked regularly and attentive. Will come back.

The food was fantastic! So flavorful! My husband got the jambalaya pasta, and I got the Cajun pasta with chicken. We used to live in New Orleans and this took us back. We can’t wait to go back to try the red velvet waffles and chicken. Our server (Sydney) was genuine and easy to talk to. The rest of the staff was equally personable and warm. We will definitely be going back!

This restaurant was recommended and it was worth the 2 hour drive from Richmond. The food was well made and the staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Loved the experience all around. Will return soon.

We received great service 09112022. I had a party of 6. The meal was good. I had the Smokey Beef burger 🍔 😋 I can't wait to visit when there is a live band and Open Mike night. Update. Ask for Michelle our server was wonderful. The food was delightful. See photos...🤗✨️

Had the pleasure of visiting this place and loved it. The Moroccan soup was delicious, lots of veggies and good spices. They were really accommodating and roasted my brussle sprouts without any cheese or bacon. The hush puppies were great, but i felt the serving was small for the price. Greens were delicious, but were more on the vinager side then the spice, but I'd have them again and they aren't made with pork so thats a a huge bonus. My mom had the Cajun pasta and loved it. My daughter had the chicken fingers and Mac and Cheese and devoured the chicken. I think this is my new favorite restaurant.

Food is Pretty Good. The greens and the cabbage just need a tad bit more seasoning. The grilled Jumbo shrimp, seared scallops and cat fish are so good!

Dined in for brunch and had a great experience. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Despite it being quite busy we didn’t wait very long to be seated. The food was visually pleasing, filling, and everything was absolutely delicious. Probably the most delicious crab cake I’ve had in a while. Lastly, the peach cobbler [not pictured] was SO good. Will definitely be coming again!!

I had the pleasure today of eating at a Black owned establishment called "Della J's". The food was fairly good but not outstanding. It needed more seasoning as I found it to be a bit bland. My server Louis was excellent. The drinks were wonderful. I didn't like the cabbage ,and the fish had a bit of odor plus a funny taste letting you know that it wasn't fresh. Overall I give the experience a 6.5 out of 10.

I can understand why this place is popular, but certain things turned me off. Like how my allergies started to act up when we were in there. My shrimp was a little too salty. The starters "JUMBO" wingettes were way over priced. When we started to ordered, I asked the waiter if I should order dessert now or later once we finish our entrees. He responds by stating that we should order dessert later. He was well aware that we wanted dessert. So when we were done with our entrees and ready for dessert, he then proceeds to say that we can't order dessert because the dessert stationary is closed. I'm just saying he could of told us from the beginning that their stationary would close at a certain time. Smh. Very disappointed.

Tried this restaurant and it did not disappoint on our weekend getaway to Alexandria. Service was great ( server was Brandi) food was delicious. I had the stuffed salmon, collards and mashed sweet potatoes. My appetizer was fried green tomatoes. Music was also good.
