This apartment scheme is one of the most affordable, well facilitated, and furnished schemes in the area. Paul and Carl who are in building management are very supportive and friendly. Secure parking facilities, and secure access to all apartments are provided in Rusden house. There are common areas, student areas in the premises and wheelchair accessibility also provided. It's simply a great place to live.

The place needs a make over. I've inspected several properties here and all looked pretty sub par. I think the property owners are simply preying on international students not being able to secure a place on campus or newer place. The facility manager is a nice and helpful fella.

Quite close to Monash with ample visitor parking on side roads. Rooms generally have basic furniture. Security is great with key card entry to the bulding and apartment. Prices are good for a couple, but it's a lot cheaper to find a room in a shared house if you're single. Proximity to pinewood and Brandon park malls is a plus. Finding an apartment to rent can be challenging during peak seasons. There are newer and better apartments around the area, but they might cost you a bit more...

Pros: β€’ The building manager, Carl is helpful. β€’ Free parking. Cons: β€’ Can easily hear noise from upstairs neighbours (kids running around, loud bed noise, etc.). Not recommended to anyone who's sensitive to noise. β€’ Key cards are magnetic and quite sensitive. Randomly stopped working a few times. β€’ Laundry room is not well-kept. The dryer barely dries clothes. β€’ On-site gym not accessible by residents for some reason. β€’ No lift to building A top floor (level 5). Troublesome when moving in/out.

Friend of mine lived there with family. Quite good in terms of space and clean and easy access to floors via lift. Only one car park per home so if you have multiple people with cars then it gonna be an issue. Little bit expensive but as it is closed to Monash so it’s worth to pay that rent.

You are basically paying for a simple concrete apartment. Do not expect much from amenities (half the laundry machines are broken, there are communal rooms which are locked up all the time, etc.) The building manager, Paul Rawadi, made it worse with a temperamental style and treating you like a barely-tolerated servant than a tenant. Oh, their end-of-lease cleaning inspection is basically impossible. Basically, even if you hire a professional cleaning service, Paul will find some reason to charge your bond while being absolutely crude and unprofessional towards you. Great job, Harris Leech properties.

The body Corporate here - (Neighbourly) are fantastic. They always maintain the building and keep everything spotlessly clean and up to date. There's nothing they won't fix up asap when needed, no matter how big or small the problem may be. You can always rely on them to use the apartment owners money effectively, because the building is always updated and it shows. It's impeccable, you should come and see it for yourself. Carl, the live in manager is especially attentive and caring. I'm amazed at how efficient and helpful he is... It's a fantastic place to buy an affordable apartment now, in the near future the prices will skyrocket because of the new Rail line and Hospital going through Monash Uni upgrading the area. It's all about location and this building is in the center of the Melbourne suburbs with the nearby highway giving you quick access to anywhere in Victoria.

Quiet aparment to live in. It might be on the main road but due to the fact that it is an older solid building, it is quiet even with non-double glazed windows. Staff are helpful and are quick to deal with problematic tenants who are detrimental to others in the complex. Paul the rental manager is always responsive and helpful as well.

❌❌❌❌❌PLEASE DON’T❌❌ Humiliating e-mail responses from Paul. Everything will be pleasant until you get maintenance issues. You will feel like you did a crime by asking things to get fixed. They say it looks like you are unpleasant even having a roof, at least you have it and feel gratitude towards it. Like, are we refugees trying to live under them for free? I never faced anyone who was humiliating someone to that level.

I personally don't recommend anyone to live at Rusden House because you are paying too much money for poorly maintained facilities and extremely unacceptable customer service. The key cards to enter your unit get corrupted easily and works at night based on your luck. This means you will be locked out most of the time from your own home. The person who is in charge to assist anyone after hours does not respond to urgent calls on time. So in emergency situations, you are left to fend for yourself. The basic facilities like lighting, windows and doors inside the unit are very old and need upgrading or at least some fixing to be in proper condition - it takes ages for the front office people to organise the handy man to come in for fixing. So, if the lights in your house stop working, you will be left for the most part living in the dark. The persons at the front office do not resolve your queries on time and never take action on problems that they have caused. It usually takes a verbal fight and some angry emails to get them taking some steps. The coin laundry machines do not work and the coins get stuck inside them which means that you will lose your coins and won't be able to get your washing done. Sometimes, the clothes also get stuck inside the washing machine and no one is there to help get it out. Overall, it's a unreasonable commitment to lease a unit here even if it's for one year and an unnecessary hassle to live in the long term. The building management needs to change and the maintenance of the building should be taken seriously.
