😠 Good at selling but no back up service. Brought a new Chapter 2 frameset from them. At there store, while collecting it, a part fell out of the already opened box. I was a bit worried something else may have already fallen out. Turns out it had. My mechanic, who was building my new bike, said that... A main staple of Beach Rd, O'Mara Cycles is right on the main Beach Rd. A cafe on site and all the bits you need in an emergency, I have ended up here just to get a tube after running out in the past. This is also the launching area for the Hell Ride for those that come to Melbourne and are looking for how to jump on to this signature ride. This is a good shop, run by good people. Hope to see you there one day.

I dropped into O'Mara's today on my way from the city to Frankston on my first ride in Melbs. What a great store and coffee shop! First I settled down to a brownie and long black, which were both excellent! Then I took a look around the shop and after some attentive and knowledgeable service from Jae (O'Mara) and his colleagues I purchase some glasses. The guys there are really friendly and know their stuff. A cracking LBS and café!

O’Mara Cycles is the real deal. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or looking to purchase your first ever bike, they’re going to get you sorted. I came into the store to see Jae O’Mara and view a Trek Emonda SL6 and ended up spending most of my day there! Jae not only helped me fix my old bike (after an unfortunate car accident) but he also got my new bike fitted to me, he adjusted my cleats to fix knee discomfort and even gave me some lessons on how to change the tyre properly. Jae and the rest of the team had a wealth of knowledge. They were super helpful and I can seriously say that I learned more about cycling and what was best for me having spoken to them than I have anywhere else. Plus they have a top notch range of bikes and extras - from Trek to Cervelo - you could seriously spend ages in there if you’re into cycling. Couldn’t be more pleased with the level of service at O’Mara, thanks team!

I would like to thank Jae & Anna from O Mara Cycles for the fantastic advice and service I received when purchasing my new Trek Emonda SLR, I have now had the bike for just over 2 months and could not be more pleased with both the bike and advice I received when I was considering my options. No pressure, I was given numerous options, additions and a comprehensive bike fit as well.

Fantastic service - Jae gave us a lot of his time to help us understand what type of bikes we should be looking at - best value for what we need. Great local bike shop!!

Highly recommend Jay and his team at O’mara Cycles, his knowledge and passion in the industry is second to none. He went above and beyond helping me and my bike to prepare for my upcoming race in melb in a time where he was flat out preparing other athletes.

Brilliant stock and customer service. They went above and beyond to help, explained everything to me and took their time to answer all my questions. Definitely worth the visit and drive from the other side of town.

By far the best bike service I have ever experienced. Not only did they give me the platinum service in buying and fitting a bike, their after sales service and support has been stunning.

They stayed back late one night to have my bike in perfect condition for the 3 Peaks ride last March. I have plenty of other examples over the years where Jae and his team have gone beyond the usual to help me out with events etc. They are busy but they do their best

First class service from Jae and Anna. Absolutely dedicated to making sure you have an enjoyable and comfortable ride. Highly recommend this shop & do yourself a favour & pay the extra $ for a bike fit at the end.

Excellent and friendly service. Stopped in mid ride for a front disc issue. Professional advice re need for new pads and a new rotor (as existing units were gone).

Very good bike shop (just one issue in attention to detail, read below), pointed me to a great bike I didn’t know existed before and went beyond to set it up that same day. Clearly know their stuff and offer advice. Only issue is despite the attention to detail you might expect from such a shop you do need to check it over yourself to be sure. Examples are dry squeaky chain and jockey wheels (twice now), slipping seat post, seat post height not set back correctly after service. All minor things, just frustrating when you were expecting to jump on and ride your brand new or freshly serviced bike. (Acknowledge chain could be intentional to let you apply your lube of choice but would be good to be told if that’s the case)

Good at selling but no back up service. Brought a new Chapter 2 frameset from them. At there store, while collecting it, a part fell out of the already opened box. I was a bit worried something else may have already fallen out. Turns out it had. My mechanic, who was building my new bike, said that there was another part missing and could not start the build till he had it. I rang Omara Cycles where they went straight on the defensive, bramed me for loosing the part and said I would have to pay. They then told me to send an email with the details. After another phone call and no reply to my email, they gave me no satisfaction . They could not tell me if they could get the part or not, or how long it would take. Out of fear that this task was beyond them I rang the distributor in Sydney. He expressed posted the part I needed straight away. I got it the next day. Took me 5 minutes to do this. Omara Cycles could have done the same. I payed $70 for part in the end but at least I got my bike built before Xmas 2 weeks later still have not heard from them. I will not do business with them again.

Dropped in last Saturday as I had a rubbing rear disc brake which I tried to fix myself unsuccessfully from the day previous. Heading from St Kilda to Frankston, the staff team were good enough to fit me in without an appointment. Replaced rear disc brake pads, fixed rear derailleur which was hanging on and even managed to charge my batteries which were almost flat and I was back on the road in 30 minutes. Thanks to the entire team for excellent customer service, repair and getting me back on the road Pronto.

Purchased 2 bikes from here. In short terrible customer experience, the sale price was decent which is the only reason I ended up buying here. Would not recommend the store for anyone expecting average or above service. If you want a long run down of the interactions keep reading; Disjointed and below average customer experience. The issue is the service not the products. After seeing 2x bikes I wanted to purchase online, I contacted the store on 8/11/23 to confirm they had stock and that the bikes would be available to be collected quickly. I spoke to Kai who was lovely on the phone and confirmed the bikes were available, could be collected within 1-2 days of purchase and that I could pay over the phone or online. I purchased the bikes online within the 1/2 hour of speaking to the store staff & received an order confirmation text which had a link to the receipt. I hadn’t heard from the store via phone or email by Friday afternoon so looked up the text for my order info to call the store for an update. The upon checking the link, it said my order had been cancelled. I called the store and spoke to Anna who was nonchalant about saying she had cancelled the order because it appeared to be a fraudulent transaction. I asked why I hadn’t been notified and was told I should have got an email. No email was received no phone call was made. She was dismissive on the phone and offered nothing in the way of moving forward. I asked if the bikes we available and if I could pick them up that day or tomorrow to which she explained they were at their warehouse and would not be able to be collected same day but would be available tomorrow. I advised I would be back in contact and would like to collect the next day. On Saturday I called the store to confirm the bikes were ready before making the 50minute drive to the store and spoke to Jack/Jai(?). Who said he’d check and call me back in 10 minutes. Half an hour later I called again and spoke to the same person who apologised for the delay as the store was busy explained the bikes were still at the warehouse and would not ready that day. I explained the situation again and he was apologetic then confirmed the bikes would be ready next day (Sunday) & asked for a deposit. The bikes were ready & we managed to pick them up however. We’re were given a single information book/warranty information for the 2 bikes and a receipt. I’ll contact the store again for the other booklet and information that should have come with the bike but given the experience so far I’m not holding my breath. For what should have been a simple transaction they team at Omara turned it into a massive run around.
