First visit to the university. Having in person classes excites me more. Pretty big campus , they even have a shuttle service. At the entrance I first saw the music and then theater courses, then the red hawk Building. I had a tour of gym , swimming pool, and classes . Everyone is nice and helping. Classes are big. They are following covid guidelines. Chairs are at distance from each other .

We went there for a sports clinic . Nice facility and staff. The campus seems well maintained and up dated. The training was professional. Iโ€™m not certain about the academics, as we were not there to take a class. The campus is a bit sprawling and it took a bit to figure out where we needed to go...all in all- the road signage is adequate. There is a Yogi Berra stadium which looked interesting.

Now that I have my masters, I can make this comment. The school is extremely indoctrinated, and they make it a hard time for those with medical exemption during COVID, they basically discriminate against those not willing to put toxins in their bodies. The organization of the school itself was terrible even as an undergraduate , and the professors are paid to brainwash.

Now that my son is graduating I can write a review. The school administration, professors, and overall staff are unresponsive and ill informed. Takes weeks to get answers and then they are conflicting. Graduation ceremony multiple posts graduates need to be there for 11 no 12 no 11. Guests can arrive 60 minutes early. Guests stand In Parking lot 7 . No one there directing people to opposite side of building for entrance. Graduates just standing around in the parking lot again no direction. Not sure why I would expect anything more it's been 4 yrs of an incompetent administration what's a few more hours

They do not treat handicapped people well! My daughter recently started at Montclair State. She was excited to start and live in the dorms. She is currently handicapped. She cannot walk. She applied to live in the dorms. She cannot take public transportation. We, her parents, work. We cannot transport her each day to school. We let the school know this, but they Refused to give her a dorm room. They put her on a waitlist for a dorm and now told her she is not likely to get a dorm. How does a college treat a handicapped person this way? She Needs to live on campus to be able to get to classes. This is despicable!

Being a student here, they should have more parking lots for students. The food court is ight but can add more options. Classes are cool, Profs are okay.

I attended an Open House event and it was well organized. They provided both print and app based agendas. It was easy to find our way around since they provided a map and posted guides throughout the campus. The academic session were thorough and insightful.

Thought this was a decent college. I paid for a relative to attend and graduate here. What a bad choice. I felt that this college was nothing more than a money grab with a degree that was almost worthless. Degree programs padded with yoga, bowling, skating, and climate change. While there were parts that were useful, that could have been concentrated in less than 1 or 2 years. Very little for actual real-life work. Be careful what you think you are getting.

I like this university campus. Is very green and neat. There is happy silence here and many times you can encounter a deer around. They have huge buildings and structures that belong to the university which also has library .

I am an international student enrolled at montclair state university, and this school has never EVER helped me with anything that I needed. the website is confusing, the staff doesnโ€™t know any answers to the questions that Iโ€™m asking, they say they will call you back but they never do so. I was on the phone today with international students department with a lady named lilliana and I asked her if I could file my taxes as an International student, after asking her supervisor she got back to me and said yes. I asked if I could put in my SSN now or if I had to wait until the end of the semester to do so. she said she doesnโ€™t know. I asked to change my visa status and if I had to do it in person or online, she said she doesnโ€™t know. I asked to speak to a supervisor that could possibly know the answers to my questions, she said no one is available and that it was only her at the front desk at the moment. only one person for 22k students? last question I asked her wasโ€” do you know the percentage of international students enrolled at montclair state? she obviously said no. montclair claims they are a great school, claim they have a great system and โ€œcare for their studentsโ€ let me just tell you they dont. they only care about your money. I dont recommend montclair at all, save your money and go somewhere else. but if you do end up at MSU expect the worst and you wonโ€™t be disappointed. Bad food, bad parking, bad dorming services, old buildings that donโ€™t have AC? with the amount of money they make from each student? But again, they donโ€™t care about you they only care about your money!

I'm teaching again at a music camp here this summer. The rooms and facilities at MSU's John J. Cali School of Music are nice and Leshowitz Hall is good for concerts but the built-in audio visual systems in some of the ensemble rooms don't work or are too complicated to understand. 1 star off for the wonky AV systems otherwise it seems to be a fine university.
