Buffalo Lodge provides a quaint, comfortable stay. The buildings and lodge are charming, with a down-home feel. Our room was spacious, with a very useful kitchen/ breakfast nook. The staff were so friendly and incredibly helpful. They even offer complimentary bikes to borrow! The location is practically next door to Garden of the Gods. We'll be staying there again in the future and definitely checking out the karaoke next time!

Very charming stay with a lot of character. Rooms are on the smaller side, but well maintained, clean, and cozy. Full breakfast was appreciated. Lobby bar had great selection of local beers and spirits. Excellent location to be close to Garden of the Gods. Moderate drive back into Colorado Springs proper, but reasonable. Would likely stay here again next time I'm in Colorado Springs.

I was extremely pleased with my stay. Rooms were clean and nice. They are located in the perfect location to be able to bike to Garden of the Gods, Gold camp road, the Midland trail and Pikes peak. I brought my own bike but I was absolutely over the moon that they have bikes available for checkout at the front desk. I feel that it is a new bar for future hotel stays that they cater to my absolute obsession with two wheels. This hit the mark and was a great value at the same time.

We were looking for a reasonable place to stay in Old Colorado City and Expedia pointed us here. We got a decent rate for two nights and got more than we bargained for. We arrived late to live music at the check in desk and bar area. It was a great group of people listening to some really good music. Sarah got us checked in quickly and after we got settled we came back for more music and a couple drinks. Sarah made sure we felt welcomed and having a fun time. Rooms/Cabins are a little dated but nicely personalized and all the amenities one could need. The only issue we had was that the walls of the rooms are a bit thin and we could here our neighbors. But it wasn't too bad. Free bicycle use is a great plus and continental breakfast is included. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

We had an unexpected change in travel plans and ended up finding this little Gem! The Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort was wonderful! Within walking distance to Garden of the Gods trails. We had a nice breakfast by the fire. Live music at night and a great couple of nights' sleep. We were very pleased with our discovery of this wonderful historic place.

Absolutely amazing. Love the design of the place. The rooms are comfortable. The bar area is wonderful. The staff and the guests all have similar interests so it's very easy to interact with them. There are small activities planned for every evening with live music on Friday and Saturday. Cannot recommend this place enough. Wish I could have spent more time here.

This is not a 3-star hotel, as the Google listing may suggest. It is, at best, a 1-star motel. The positive reviews are surprising. The place is cute, overall, and is close to Garden of the Gods. There are bike hooks inside, and I can park my car right by my door. That's where the positive review ends. My room was cold. The laminate floor is cold, it's heated by a rattling wall unit and the bathroom has no heat source (very cold). The fresh paint is bubbling off the wall, presumably the roof leaks. The heater has no mode to make the fan stay on (I tested every combination), so at night it goes from super loud to nothing. There are rust water stains on bath fixtures and there was standing water on the bath floor (eventually I managed to dry my socks). The mattresses are new but not firm (they sag, and I'm tiny). In summary, this would have been a positive review had this been priced like a cheap motel rather than a 3 star hotel chain.

This place is a cute little gem but it “was not us”. Overall experience 3.5 Our queen room was on the tighter side and felt a bit cramped. Floor was not clean and the shower was a challenge for sure. Breakfast contains mainly sweet items (except the boiled eggs). Staff is welcoming and friendly.

The hotel was comfortable and welcoming. We had one of the stand-alone rooms, and it was surprisingly quiet in the room, and quite affordable. Bar and live music was a huge plus, as was the ability to take a bike from out front (free!) and ride around the neighborhood. The kids in our party swam, and said the pool was surprisingly warm for how cool it was outside (high of 70). The only downside was that there were a number of bikers staying there, and were outside in the common parking lot being loud and, honestly, a little scary. If our room had been closer to theirs my review probably would be quite different than it is, but our experience and night of sleep was good.

We had a group staying there for a family reunion. The place is cute but needs a fresh coat of paint very badly. Room was adequate but lacked cleanliness. Floors were filthy and after realizing that we wore our shoes. Almost every person in our group had issues with their room. A/C not working and the younger staff working reception had no resolutions, they actually said it was working fine when the room was warmer than outside. The maintenance guy was great and ended up bringing a portable A/C. Two of our group’s bikes were stolen (they were locked up) and again the kids at reception didn’t really care. Another room had a bad TV that took a couple of days to get resolved. Also, a two room suite only had A/C in the living room so the bedroom got so hot at night. Breakfast was too jammed in a small spot and people were all over you while waiting for your waffle. Good stuff was the food trucks and live music. That patio is really nice. The pool area is also very fun. I think with some better trained staff to handle issues and deeper cleaning, this place could be awesome.

Great location. Walkable to most places. Very unique and historical motel. If you don't like the smell of horse stalls, you may want to request a room up front. We were in room 151, and although it didn't bother us, you could definitely smell the "aroma" We enjoyed ourselves, and would stay again. Love family owned businesses!

The owners were so kind and nice we felt welcomed the second we drove up! Before we even checked in they told my kids to go ahead and get on the bikes! We were traveling with six boys and they all just loved it, they rode bikes played volley ball, played ping pong in the lobby and of course they enjoyed the heated pool! They actually told me they enjoyed it more than Great Wolf lodge! Thanks to the staff from the owner, the young lady that worked the front desk when we checked in, the evening front desk attendant (young man) and the pool guy for getting the pool ready for my boys (they were very persistent!) you guys really made our Colorado trip!

Great place! Stayed there for two days with my wife. The happy hours are really good, breakfast is fantastic and great service. My wife and I used their 3 speed bikes to cycle Garden of the Gods. It was tough but manageable.

It has a nice community feel, which reminds me of a hostel. Locals go to the little bar on-site, and everyone is friendly. It is conveniently located next to Garden of The Gods and near the main streets of Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs. My only critique is that they use very white LED lights and it would be more inviting and cozy to use warmer tones. A word of advice is to bring slippers because the floor is very cold. Understandably, it’s laminated for ease of cleaning.

Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Lodge is our go-to place when in Colorado Springs. We love the quaintness and rustic charm. The staff and owner are very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a pet-friendly suite with a great private patio. We love the bar and the selection of local beers and spirits. Live music and food trucks on weekends. Easy access to Manitou Springs and downtown Colorado Springs. Hiking in Garden of the Gods is within walking distance. Highly recommend!

I come to Colorado Springs often throughout the year, and I am always excited and anxious to choose the Buffalo Lodge, literally next to Garden of the Gods, for my stay....especially over a Friday and Saturday. On Friday's and Saturday's throughout the year, they have live music, whether acoustic or a full, live band. I just love the atmosphere! At night, the entire property is lit up with strings of light, making it so relaxing. Inside the lodge, you have a bar and cozy log cabin atmosphere with two fireplaces, tons of board games and the friendliest staff ever....including the two sisters! Breakfast consists of waffles, cereals, breads, oatmeal, boiled eggs, yogurt and fresh fruit. I like to make my waffles with syrup, bananas, whipped cream, peanut butter and chocolate syrup!!! Yum!!! The inside of each room has extremely comfy beds and several pillows. The decor is awesome as well! I only have three requests for the future, add a few hot tubs near their heated pool, thicker bath towels and coffee in the lodge throughout the entire day/night...I don't want to walk to my room to make coffee and walk back to the lodge to relax....plus the lodge coffee is better than the room coffee with all the creamers. BUT.....Can't wait to come back!

Hidden gem! I stayed here twice this summer, once with my family and the other with a friend. We absolutely love the Buffalo Lodge. The rooms were modern, clean, quiet, and comfortable, the most comfortable be I've ever slept in. The property has so much charm and character. I love seeing it preserved. The staff were friendly and helpful when we had questions about the area. The live music, Lodge bar, food truck and many other activities on the property were a bonus. We will be back to stay!

We absolutely loved our stay here! Our latest trip to Colorado was mostly unplanned, and I booked this place pretty much last-minute...because why not? We both just smiled when we pulled in. It's so quaint and lovely, and definitely a place that has a Rocky Mountain vibe. The people are so friendly and attentive. We rode bikes on site for the first time in a LONG time! It was fun! There is live music and a food truck on certain nights and it looks like even local people come by! The room was clean, cozy, and quiet. If you're looking for a casual place for your stay around the Pikes Peak area, check out this place!

This was the most fun and special little place I’ve ever stayed at! The staff were all incredible and the music and food trucks on Friday and Saturday night were a fantastic plus! The morning snacks, coffee and bar in the cozy lobby area was wonderful. The room had the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on and although basic didn't lack charm and comfort. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do and see around the area and we can’t wait to come back!

We loved this lodge! Comfortable rooms, great lobby and "watering hole," and super friendly and helpful staff. You don't have to cycle to enjoy this family owned motel.

Fantastic all around! Best people and location! It always feels like we are staying at a friend's place when we are here. Bicycles to rent/borrow. Layout is like a compound... multiple units with a lodge at the entrance. Lodge has a bar and a nice breakfast. The live music was a wonderful addition since we were there last. Wish we had a local spot like this to see a band and have a snack from a great food truck. Couldn't recommend this place more 💗

I really enjoyed our stay here. It was one of the most hospitable places I've ever stayed. The staff was there to make you happy. In a I'm a glad you're here kinda way. You park at your door. Parking was tight parallel parking, but very manageable. The room was clean and comfortable. Free Entertainment Friday and Saturday nights. With a food truck to serve dinner. This place is geared toward a bicyclest. With bike hooks in the room and events kicking off from there. Good breakfast bar. Hot and cold. Never made it to the heated pool, but it looked nice. Would stay again. In fact, will check for a room there first if in the area.

Start by saying we're not biking people but it was very close to where we wanted to be. Everything was great. From the moment we checked in til we checked out 3 days later. I gave a 4 on the rooms only because there were no chairs or a soap holder for the shower. The breakfast was great with really good coffee. Don't go there expecting a posh fancy place. It has the comfy nostalgic feel of a route 66 motel. If you want a nice laid back place this is it. You feel like you're a world away from the busy city. We would definitely stay again.

Ideal location - horseback riding right next door, we literally walked there! Super clean, remodeled rooms. Very friendly staff. I love the character of this place. Live bands and food trucks, on the weekends, is an added plus- not to mention the new bar area! We really enjoyed our stay!

Highly recommend staying at this lodge. It brings a small village feel and with their free bikes it allowed our kids to be more active rather than just sitting in the room. If I had absolutely any complaint it would be the parking was a little small.

Very quaint lodge with modern and comfortable interior. I absolutely loved my stay. Very enjoyable live music in an intimate setting (with a fireplace!) for the guests to experience in the evening. Sadly, I will miss kareoke night. Right next to Garden of the Gods, and Pike's Peak is right down the road. Would stay again!!

Unique facility, motor court motel from 1920's, with cool period vibe and warm, inviting main lobby area. Rooms were clean and neat, but AC window unit in our particular room was a little noisy - luckily, weather was cool enough when we arrived so we turned it off and did not need it. Unfortunately, rainy weather kept us from exploring nearby Garden of Gods on bike. We hope to return!

Loved, loved, loved our stay! It was nice and clean and had neat decor. The beds were amazingly comfortable! The staff were so friendly and very helpful. Very professional and thanks to thier suggestions, we were able to find some pretty cool spots to visit during our trip :) The breakfast was good, and we enjoyed the live entertainment they had on the weekends. I highly recommend and I will be back in the summer! Thank you staff 🙂

I love this place. The rooms are super fun. the staff is absolutely fantastic, the lodge and bar are so adorable! All amenities are appreciated from the lodge,to the heated pool, volleyball court, picnic area, firepits, free bicycle use, and the breakfast! You cannot beat it. The character, the charm, the vibes; all so amazing. I would stay here over a chain hotel anyday. Check it out :)

Great place to stay and great location. The staff was amazing! This place was a life saver while our power was out for 5 days. Plus they take dogs which is hard to find. Thank you to everyone at the Buffalo Lodge! Bonus they have a bar and live music in the lodge. Extra bonus was the waffle making bar for breakfast. Will definitely stay her again and recommend it to out of town visitors.

This resort is so fun! Torie the owner is so sweet and friendly. She'll do more than just make sure you have a good stay, she'll help you find other fun touristy things to do too! There is events and a pool as well! 10/10 would recommend.

  • 5/5 Madeline G. 2 years ago on Google
You want to stay here! A great comfortable clean place to be able to experience Manitou Springs. We came during the winter so we were unable to utilize the bikes out front that you can ride into town. It's cool that the "rooms" are separate from each other like mini houses. The grounds themselves and the aesthetics of the buildings and everything just add extra charm, not to mention Saturday night karaoke in the main lodge is a riot. Again, you want to stay here.

I send all my Iowa friends to the lodge. IMO it is the best resort in all of the 'springs. Super hospitable, always an adventure to be had, great location, amazing service. They are top-notch and you will 100000 percent have a great time!
