Great gym, great staff, good equipment! I have been a member here for a few years and I am happy to have been one. Unfortunately, over the past year, the gym has been incrementally being taken over my what appears to be incredibly large groups of high school students who come in groups of 10 or more. The gym is small as it is, and not even considering the pandemic, the capacity constantly feels strained. Unless you come at certain times (early morning), be prepared to wait 10-15 min for any equipment. If you need a squat rack, it make take upwards of 40 min for one those to free up (especially if a group of friends is spread among all 3). I have seen one teen spend about 70 min on the squat rack, performing sets of 1 rep before resting for 10 min and chatting with his friends, who are using the rack next to his, who also chat in between sets with their friends on the next rack over. This is not a criticism of the gym itself; like I said, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my membership here over the years. It is just becoming unbearable with the crowd. Whenever I see a sign or email announcing some kind of promotion, my heart sinks further lol. I think it’s time to move on to another gym! Thanks for everything so far. Maybe I’ll come back if you expand or change your capacity limit. 😊🙏

I canceled my membership two years ago... and then out of nowhere this place charged me a ridiculous amount of money. I went and met with Patricia Lapuos and this lady was rude, and acted very condescending.... I called corporate office and notified them of the issue of having my bank information being used out of the blue after two years and have my money refunded. They told me that they have also had this problem in the past and that the manager Patricia is known to be a problem. Good luck to anyone who gives this place business. My bank gave me back the money and reported fitness 19 to the BBB.

I signed up for this gym due it’s close location to my home. It’s small but it has a large variety of work out machines, free standing equipment, good music playing, and helpful trainers. The staff are friendly, and the locker room is small, but it has a decent shower. The best parts are the hydro massage machines to relax and massage your muscles after a good work out. It’s a little pricey, but it meets my needs and the location is key for me.

This company just tries to rip you off. During the pandemic I tried to cancel my membership. Couldn't go into the store, so I called corporate. Said they would figure out how to cancel my membership. When I could finally go in, I went in because corporarte never cancelled it. They told me I had to call an 800 number, which I did. I found out now, 3 years later that it was never cancelled. Just called to cancel, where they told me I had to email a third party to cancel. The only reason to make it this hard to cancel is because they want to keep stealing your money instead of just cancelling. Buyer beware. Also worth noting it's too crowded at this location so it's hard to get any time on any of the machines or benches. Total trash company.

A small club with little equipment . There are only two chest presses in the whole club and always busy .You have to wait at least 30 minutes, once I waited 45 minutes .Few dumbbells and the girls always take it to the side hall for stretching. Barbells are very funny for arm movements , because the number is very small only 2 and it is usually used in the side hall .low bench . The locker rooms are very smelly and dirty so that the smell of the toilet sticks to your clothes .Besides these bad things, only the reasonable monthly price is good. And only the employees who are in the reception area are very polite and kind.

Pros: it’s clean, well lit, nice location, and is overall a solid gym for most people. I also like how the dumbbells stay in order. The center turf area is a real plus. Cons: The proximity to a high school make the gym hard to use in the afternoons. There aren’t enough squat racks and flat benches to go around. If that’s the type of workout you want to do you might be wasting time waiting for availability. Mornings are fine but after that it’s scarce. I would hope they get rid of 4-5 cardio machines in that corner and make room for another squat rack to ease the wait times for one. And relocate an incline bench to make room for them to have 3 flat benches.

I love this gym its close by . first of all you must pick the time to go don't go right after 3 too many high-school kids go in the mornings and between 6pm and 11pm . My trainer is great his name is Kristof he's very knowledgeable and has lots of experience and seems very passionate about his work. Any gym you go to you will have same crowded issue it's LA get with the program long lines long waits.

STAY AWAY!!! These guys wont let you cancel. They make you jump through hoops to cancel, they will continue to bill you for months after cancelling. Their cancellation team is in India when you call. They aren't authorized to refund you. Its a complete joke. Stay away. Do yourself a favor and spend a few more dollars and go to 24 hour fitness or Golds.

The staff is really nice and helpful, but many of the members of the Fitness 19 branch in Eagle Rock, CA are inconsiderate and selfish. They won't share the equipment or let you work in. I have a very specific workout I like to follow which includes the Smith machine (for squats, etc.). For example, one day a couple sat at the Smith machine, looking at their phones, etc. and said they would be there for at least on hour! When I asked if I could work in with them, they said, "No, because there are two of us." Then they went back to looking at their phones. This kind of thing happens all the time there. The long waits for equipment make it impossible to follow a strict program, because the waits are too long, which causes the body to cool down -- not to mention causing the work out session to take way longer than it should. When I spoke to the manager, she said there were no rules in the gym and a customer could block a machine or equipment for up to 2 hours! I wish that the corporate offices could tell our branch to start a new policy where members are considerate and share the equipment. And at the very least, don't hog things for hours and hours. Thank you for listening. Craig

Nice gym, however, there's way too little equipment and way too many members. I'm there 5 days a week and it's always crowded, waiting for machines to be available. The staff promised me they will expand next door since the 2020 pandemic times and still they haven't. This place needs improvement. Also, there's very few instructors for work outs. The class instructor is always a blonde lady. I thought they had more variety of work out classes but they don't. Ugh. Please improve this gym. Thanks!

Love this place. I always see staff periodically cleaning equipment, there's reminders via speakers to wear your mask properly, and they always make sure to refill cleaning wipes for the machines. As a newbie lifter the gym offers all the equipment that I need. Staff are friendly and my interactions with the manager on site have been great as he was thorough in answering any questions that I had relating to payments.

It's awesome early in the morning and late at night. Wish many can learn to wipe the machines down, put away their weights, and not camp around machines. I love how many know each other, but yap during your own time, please.

In a tiny gym, even at 8 o'clock in the morning, there are no free exercise machines due to the very cheap prices, resulting in overcrowding. I trained there for four days straight, but after 5 minutes each time, I left, realizing it was impossible to train. Considering the $15 price, you can imagine the situation. There are very few dumbbells, . In short, I don't recommend it.

DO NOT GO HERE!! They will charge you extra fees even after your contract is up. They lie to you upfront and say you won’t pay any fees, but they still charge you. Then when you want to speak to the manager over the phone, they are never available or leave you on hold. Save yourself the headache and run! I can see why these gyms are closing. I will be reaching out to corporate because all staff tell you different things and the manager just hides.

The gym is quite small but have all the equipment you may need. It’s also clean and the staff are friendly. The only downside is the amount of teens that are there after school just hanging out and socializing with one another (just sitting on the machines while chatting with their friends) So avoid the times between 3-6pm until their parents pick them up. But it’s all good, I have yet to try the classes !

From bad to worse! The gym membership has been oversold. Too many people and not enough working equipment. Three of the four stationary bike have been broken for over two weeks. Several treadmills- broken. Very limited classes in the evening. Keep questioning why am I paying for a service that I can’t use? People leave their dirty wipes on the equipment, no cleanly etiquette, and the workers seem to turn a blind eye. Not happy at all. Looking for a quality new gym.

Decent gym, solid equipment and space, but way overcrowded. I have come in at all times of the day with the same experience. They need to either cap memberships or start enforcing time limits on machines. I’ve watched people use the squat racks for the entirety of my workout (45/60 minute sessions), others sitting on the bench press for 30+ minutes. There’s really no reason for this. There’s plenty of other machines one could rotate to. There’s plenty of staff here who seem to be working on new memberships, and signing MORE people up, but I think they should better use of staff. It shouldn’t be a members job to ask another member to move on from a piece of equipment.

Hey Guys, I didn't think I was ever going back to the gym in this lifetime, I see and hear of many people that I have been in contact with over the years that have given up on life, I was informed by 3 teams of doctors that I wouldn't last a week, but here I am 12 1/2 years after my cadaver liver transplant, i was very sick and weak, 325 pounds of poison in my body, near to transplant they were removing 14 liters of poison every week. I never gave up hope, I tried exercising by walking and cooking for my church as part of my strength building post transplant, my Grandson and family have given me much to strive for, I didn't want to leave just yet, I prayed to Holy Spirit to give me courage and strength to take the steps of joining Fitness 19, it's been 1 month now, I have dropped a few pounds, my goal is to be at 215 by February, I am 240 now. Being around like minded gym goers gives me enthusiasm, my wife has started going too, which is a good thing. I am and always will be a work in progress. Thank you all for being there Fitness 19. Best Regards, Rich Deione

I finally started a membership with Fitness 19 Eagle Rock despite seeing some of the reviews about it being too crowded. I've found the morning/early afternoons and weekends to not be crowded and I'm loving my membership. The staff are all fantastic too -- shout out to Chancellor for being a great trainer!

If I could leave zero - I would! I have tried to cancel my membership 3 times over the last 3 years and they’re still trying to charge me “annual membership fees” on any random month they choose. No one at the company will help me - STAY AWAY - the Y is better than this garbage anyhow.

This is one of the most cleanest and respectable gyms I been to for how many young people are there! I want to send their parents and nanas flowers for a job well done bc I see that mostly everyone racks weights and wipes down equipment and for that I’m sold. Keep in mind this is for the PM folk that workout I can’t speak on the earlier folk but I’m assuming it’s the same.

This gym is oddly layed out. Only 4 benches for this entire gym. People will camp out there spot for hours. I would think of going somewhere slightly larger. Also I will add the membership team is hilariously trained as car salesmen that will hide prices to try to upsell you. Not until I forced him to move the paper lower did I actually see the real price.

This place provides great value for your money. Staff are friendly and helpful. Equipment are always being cleaned. There's plenty of equipment here that could help you achieve your goals. Also, speaking of goals, my trainer Christian has been very helpful and informative. I've never been to any gym prior to this and Christian has been very helpful in guiding me along the way. I love how he emphasizes on breathing, stretching, balance, and proper diet as parts of your fitness journey. So far, my experience is positive and awesome. I highly recommend this place.

This is the first gym I’ve gone to and my experience so far has been perfect there. There is equipment for about anything you need to work on and it’s very affordable. The place is well kept and the equipment is cleaned by staff daily. My trainer Oleh is an amazing trainer who I would highly recommend to anyone interested in one , my experience with him has just made me want to come back all the time. The staff have been very kind and helpful, Alejandra has helped me with any questions I might have and overall has been very friendly. She was the first one I met with and showed me around the place and honestly if not for everyone being so nice and welcoming I wouldn’t have stayed !

Been going here for a month now and so far I love it. I love how there are classes available to us at such an affordable price for membership. This location is always clean and bright. Whenever I have guests staying with me, I almost always take them with me to workout

I just started at this gym a few months ago and love it. Its very clean with the staff constantly cleaning the equipment and the prices for the membership are great. I did the package with three months of training and the trainers there are great at seeing where you are and help you reach your goals. My trainer Oleh has helped me improve and learn a lot for the future because I came in not knowing how to build muscle and tone!

I signed up when they opened, but barely went. I have started going regularly starting April 2021 and i have enjoyed the facilities very much. Staff is very friendly, clean facility, and they maintain and clean all the equipments regularly. I also got a personal trainer. Nina really listens to what my goals are and keeps me both on track and motivated. And she puts up with all my complaining about how she's pushing me. Thank you Nina.

Terrible terrible terrible. Do not recommend this small gym. Bad management. Over crowded, I would pay extra 10-15 bucks a month for a better gym . New gyms in pasadena.

Overall, I like this gym due to convenience and price. It’s smaller than other gyms I have had membership with, but has ample equipment to meet my needs. I wish the showers had betters water pressure, soap dispensers, and hooks to hang towels and bags. I don’t like putting my stuff on the floor. The lockers are also smaller than other gyms. I like the massage chairs and the fact that I can bring a guest on weekends with my premium membership. I wish they had add on options or a family membership option like other gyms do.

The gym is located in a shopping mall with free parking. The gym is very clean and staff is constantly sanitizing all equipment. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. It is a supportive environment for those just heading back to the gym. Would definitely recommend to others. It is a very convenient location, too.

Regret getting into contract with them. Parking is great but the gym is overcrowded and overpacked, they signed way too many members for an itty bitty gym. There are lines for all the good machines

This gym is a “no frills” type of gym - basic machines and weights with a cycling room and one for classes. It could use more ventilation and better cleaning wipes. These aren’t the best type of cloth to clean the machines. They stick to the rubber.

Fitness 19 in Eagle Rock Plaza is proving to be one of the most outstanding gyms I have experienced. Outstanding general management with many competent trainers available. Throughout the gym are many containers filled with sanitary wipes to use on the machines before and after use. It is evident that most of the clientele use these wipes before and after using any particular piece of equipment. The clientele is quite diverse in race, age and ability. There is a gentle politeness between all members using the gym. Two Hydromachines are a real bonus and everyone is offered equal amounts of usage without waiting. This is a very clean and well managed place to come and enjoy good exercise with ready to help trainers to make every visit a friendly and productive experience. LSMG

Real good work out equipment, but we need more machine for abdominals to work out body-midsection. And the showers need a little shelf in place or something to put on our soap and shampoo. Very friendly employees. Best regards, Javi C.

Very crowded!!! Good luck trying to get a workout in...EVER! Doesnt matter the time of day. $14.99 a month...after the singing fees, cleaning fees, early cancelation fees, and last month of dues fees or they wont cancel your membership fees. Also, you can't cancel in person. The workers are incapable of doing that regardless of the many computers they have on site. You have to do it online and make sure you get the agreement number from the workers...the only thing their capable of helping you with. Good luck folks.

I love the Zumba class with Jonah, when i learn that she is doing Zumba at Fitness 19, i didn’t hesitate to check it out, because i know that Jonah is a great Zin. When i came there for the first time, i didn’t expect it to be clean and orderly, the manager Patricia is very knowledgeable and giving me all the benefits of enrolling. The front desk, Joaquin is very nice, also Jermaine, i hope i spelled it right, the bathroom is clean and the zumba room is big enough to do zumba comfortably. Although it is small compared to other fitness club, but if it runs smoothly snd to my satisfaction. I think that’s all that matters. The location is convenient too. I love it and i bring a lot of friends, they check it out and they enrolled. That’s good news👍🙏

Knowledgeable trainer: supportive and patient. The staff is friendly. Enrollment and notifications are efficient. There is never a crowd at the machines, at least at my training time. Members are friendly and courteous, at least those I dealt with. The place is very clean and well organized.

I love this gym aside from the fact that it is so close to my home where I could go anytime without worrying about traffic. All the staff are helpful and accommodating. This is my first time to enroll in a gym and I got a trainor! Chloe is very nice and knows her craft. And she takes care of me very well being a beginner, no experience at all. She gives me tasks to do even when I’m at home, I do that when I cannot come to the gym. And it is so fun! I’ve also joined the Zumba class and it was fun with Jonalyn. I will be trying out their other classes soon! Come and join us at Fitness 19 Eagle Rock. So easy and everyone is so welcoming!

Zero stars if possible! (Note, this review is for the men's showers only). I've been coming to this gym for the last month to use the showers because of a remodel at my house. The gym itself seems okay, not really my cup of tea is far as the music selection and vibe, but nonetheless it seems to be good. Though it is very crowded. The men showers on the other hand are completely disgusting. I have pointed this out to the staff multiple times and they said they would take care of it which has not happened. They desperately need a deep cleaning! There is mold and mildew everywhere. Also, the doors don't latch properly and some of the door moldings are falling apart.

  • 5/5 Carl B. 1 year ago on Google
The Eagle Rock location has plenty of free parking which is a large bonus. The gym is well equipped and can be a little crowded but that is to be expected and is an easy fix as there are plenty of machines and room to my workouts. The staff is outstanding. From the moment I walk into the gym I am always greeted with a welcome. I have, for the first time in my life, hired the assistance of a personal trainer with very specific needs as I am training to become a Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff. The head trainer, Oleh, paired me with an exceptional individual, Olivia. Olivia is enrolled at Occidental University and is majoring in kinesiology which is amazing that someone with that education and training happened to be available as a trainer. Olivia has a sports background which additionally assists with her input for my needs. All the staff are fun, pleasant and helpful. The only negative I could bring to mind is the showers have almost no water pressure so water trickles out of the shower head making it difficult to obtain an effective shower. Thusly, I have opted not to shower at the gym. I have not mentioned this to staff so I could have been more of assistance in letting them know. Additionally, there are few classes such as a HITT class. However, I assume this is due to COVID related issues and would also assume the class choices will grow in time. Great gym. Olivia is outstanding.

Great workout location; clean, safe, friendly environment; multiple exercise machines/weights- lead to getting to the exercises you want- no down time; facility hours allow for flexible opportunities to workout. What more could you want? And yes, I am a real person not being paid to post this.

I like this gym a lot, has good parking and nice employees. But almost never get a chance to work on the machines or will take few hours. Bunch of kids are working out together in groups , not giving the opportunity to other customers to work out, I m very disappointed on that part, the the management Has to really think about limitations for signing up new customers. Thank you.

Been a member for only a month. Staffs I met are all accommodating and nice. Equipments are modern but way too little compared to number of members. Always a long wait for the machines. Too many kids who come to the gym only to socialize and sit on machines. Patricia Lapuz is very nice and helpful. Trainer David Cardenas is very knowledgeable and patient. Close to where I live and plenty of parking. Only negative thing is that not enough machines
