It's a second time I come here and I just want to comment on the service I received last night. I asked for something to keep my sake warm and I was brought a warm bucket plus I asked for my ramen medium hot and I was warned that it would be quite spicy but I didn't expect how actually spicy it was. After trying my ramen I could not eat it and I was offered to make it less spicy. I was definitely surprised by how accommodating the staff were. The quality of food is good. Sake is different and nice. I will definitely be back again.

First time try today. The salmon belly tartare taco was non traditional Japanese but nonetheless unique and worth trying, a bit tangy, refreshing. The soft shell crab Volcano ramen was generously portioned. Ambience and atmosphere, 8/10. Price is fair for the type of cuisine.

Staff for friendly and efficient. Food was served soon after ordering and tasted great. Was reasonably priced for what we ordered. Great for time pressed work lunch breaks.

We were here to try their Volcano ramen that we heard quite often about. It didn't disappoint. Flavour was gutsy and tasty. This ramen was filled with seafood. Seafood was generous in amount, fresh and yum. I loved the fried soft shelled crab. Def a must try. We picked normal for spicyness and it's already very spicy. If you can't take spicy food, please choose less spicy. Their Salmon Aburi Don was smaller in portion, but for me, its just right as I don't eat much carb. It was yum. They also served alcohol at the venue. Which we will try when we come back to try their dinner menu. Service was rather slow but we did come close to the closing time.

Their foods were quite nice, but average. I thought $49 for 18 pieces of sashimi was way overpriced. Their original soft drinks were tasty and reasonable price. The restaurant was pretty busy, but there were not enough wait people. It was so dark inside of the restaurant that I couldn't read the menu... We probably won't go back.

Came for lunch recently and really enjoyed it. My friend had the aburi salmon don and he really said it was better than expected. I had the unagi don and I thought the servings were pretty generous. It tasted amazing too. Service was great. Waiter were friendly and accommodating. Place feels a bit dim. Great for dinner but probably not so much for lunch. Though understandable because they specialise on their dinner service. But still a great lunch spot for tasty Japanese treat. Definitely worth a visit. Look forward to returning!

Nori tacos, must try. We tried salmon, soft shell crab and beef. All of them are full of flavor Volcano ramen, large portion seafood ramen, next time I will try higher spicy level

We had a lovely dinner and walked out full and slightly tipsy after a few of the Sapporo imperial pints. Cool venue with a range of contemporary Japanese dishes and some classics. The nigiri was so fresh. The duck meatballs and spatchcock were something different and delicious all the same

Had an absolutely amazing experience. Look we did have to wait in line for about 15 minutes and our food for 15 as well. However, I noted that they already had 3 reservations already present so considering for such a small restaurant, they served us kindly and quite fast! The food was definitely worth the wait! It was my partner and my first time coming to MSR and it was very enjoyable! Service amazing, food immaculate, great atmosphere, cheap prices for such good quality food! An amazing gem in Perth! Will stop by when I'm in the facinity next! Thank you!~

One of the restaurant that falls of my radar and then somehow i get to try it with my friends. And this is my 2nd time. The menu has interesting names and they have starred recommendations for what to order. We ordered the cauliflower pop, prawn sirracha roll, unagi roll, pork belly dish. It is actually very good. For drink we ordered yuzu soda and ice matcha latte which is also good. The cauliflower surprisingly very nice so you will definitely like it, the unagi roll is so big so just make a note. The prawn sirracha roll has enough tanginess and spice its just so nice. The pork belly has crispy skin and good combo with the gochuchang. Overall was a pleasant night and i can highly recommend this place to try

Good choices of Japanese food. Location very accessible. Quick service and friendly staff. Quality and taste of food is okay. Katsudon comes with free miso soup. Their ramen is pretty spicy but good. Generous servings, price just right.

Very yummy food. Of course, pricey end, however worth it for a night out. You might not be full from just the food, different experience from a usual restaurant!

Everything was great! The volcano ramen was the highlight. The squid karaage was nice and crunchy and sashimi was fresh and delicious. Service was also superb. However, I just think that a Japanese beer for $21.00 was a bit much. I have been to other Japanese restaurants and alcoholic drinks are not as expensive as this place.

Just two words...First class! Have tried a lot of Japanese style restaurants around Perth these past 12 months and have concluded that MSR is simply one of the best! Ordered 8 dishes between the tow of us and our three favorites on the night?...Dragon Rolls, Tooth-Fish and a couple of amazing daiquiris! Will be back!

Located in the city, it was not difficult to access or find. First time here, looking at the menu they have a range of dishes, ranging from $15 onwards. There are a variety of drinks that can be ordered off their menu as well, which is great for those wanting drinks. I ordered their Chicken Curry Don, and it was fairly generous in portion. Reasonably priced at $15 as well. Service was excellent the waitress did a great job and took care of us. Food came promptly as well, and they were busy so we were very impressed by this. It's a great place for a sit down and good food.

A causal Japanese restaurant with fair price. Main Street Ryu provides delicious food and friendly service. If you are in Perth city and look for Japanese food, you should consider this one. 🍱

We were looking for something to eat in the CBD after a long day of walking around. Found this on Google Maps and made a reservation online. Place was a little difficult to find on Google Maps and we missed the shop a few times. But once we found it, the first thing we noticed was there's a cutout of best girl bunny girl senpai at the front of the shop. Passed the vibe check there. Food was delicious japanese fusion and we loved the sushi tacos! Ramen was nice as well. Of course, you can't compare it to what you'd get in Japan but it's still delicious on a chilly spring evening. Service was prompt and friendly, and we enjoyed our dinner here.

The food here is so yummy! It's all high quality and very authentic. I recommend the Onsen Gyu don which tastes just like what I ate in Japan. I really enjoy the drinks mixed with yuzu syrup which is kind of hard to find in Perth. The interior design is urban Japanese. Service was fantastic.

The food is really nice, really great value for money. I was honestly expecting smaller portions so I was quite surprised when we received full plates!! Not normal for Japanese restaurants in the city. We tried the pork belly, cauliflower popcorn, pork gyozas and spicy chicken. Everything is delicious, can't fault it!! The staff (like everywhere) is reduced so the service is slow but once they're with you, they place the order directly in the tablet so it's fairly quick. Overall a good restaurant in the middle of the city !

I went for dinner date ☺️ and it was perfect 🤩 when I did the booking I told them I would like to start with two glasses of Japanese Plum Wine and a Shroom Taco to surprise my partner ... and it was perfect. A small touch just added to the perfect night. Thank You 🤗 We had Emperor Roll, Buta Kakuni, Street Duck Meatballs. Highly recommended!

My fav lunch and dinner restaurant with fusion servings, especially the cauli popcorn, their ramen and the matcha (condense) milk tea. Make sure you book in advance and have enough spare time on their popular days, coz everytime I was there, they were jam packed. Staffs are friendly, attentive and the service was quite reasonable even in their busiest hours, I didn't have to wait too long. Highly recommended.

Some good stuff here but others could be improved, like the kingfish prawn sirracha roll. Loved the popcorn cauliflower and the best kingfish carpaccio I've had.

Good vibe, Friendly service. Salmon Taco is interesting with seaweed (Nori) as taco, salmon sashimi, green onions, rice and seaweed salad on the inside. The drink Mrs Yuzu tastes really nice, despite its price. The night menu has changed, here is the updated one.

Nice little Japanese fusion restaurant in the city. The serving sizes were quite generous, and the drinks were refreshing. Prices were alright after redeeming a 25% off voucher.

I wanted to try it so the experience itself was worthwhile. Caught the business not a very busy time and it's nice that there is Japanese music in the background. Both items were nutritious and delicious in the same of both. This place uses paper straws fyi.

The service was ok but understandable as there was only 1 waitress. Food slightly overpriced for what you get. Kaarage wings were quite bland. Braised brisket taco and shroom taco were really good. Braised short ribs were super nice and tender but was only given half of what you'd expect for a $28 meal. Ramen was pretty average as well. Glad i went but would never return. No wow factor for a $115 meal for 2.

went for lunch and got the Korean fried chicken, edamame and a salmon taco with some good Japanese beer I tried for the first time, the chicken wasn't quite as spicy or flavoursome as I was hoping but the taco was good. price was average, maybe a bit on the expensive side. cost me $60 for everything, the beer bottle was $22 on its own which was definitely too expensive, they didn't offer many tap options so I couldn't get it any cheaper or in a smaller serving either. probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back here as there are other better priced and quality options for Japanese food.

It was my first time at this place, and I'll definitely be back! What an awesome restaurant! The food was great, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was really nice. We were a group of 4 and everybody loved their dishes! We just have good things to say about this experience and we look forward to coming back at Ryu. I highly recommend this place.

I have no idea what happened in the restaurant but the quality of the service and food went downhill significantly. I walk in and despite there being some free tables without reservation, I still have to wait 10 minutes outside before they give me a table. Not only that, they charged my life 30 minutes and 18 dollars for only 4 pieces of karaage with COLD rice and curry, not even warm. Came along with that is a disappointed takoyaki, if you guys run out of katsuobushi, just tell the customer or do not sell it, its better than giving this poorly plate. This place used to be my favorite lunch and because of this, no more, not worth my money and time to spend here.
