One of, if not my favourite Melbourne Beaches. Great water for a swim and great sand for just laying there reading a book or sunbathing. It's also a perfect place for walking or jogging along the Beaconsfield Pde boulevard. The exercise equipment on the foreshore is fun too and there are benches along the way where you can just sit and relax, and look out onto the bay and beach, watch the big ships sailing in and out of the bay, and look at the yachts and windsurfers. A perfect place so close to the busy CBD.

Absolutely stunning beach views that strike the perfect balance between urban and coast. Stop by here if you want that beach hit without going down towards Frankston Perfect place to catch a sunset, and to go for the long walk on the beach you claim to adore... according to your tinder profile

Quieter than St kilda & port Melbourne beaches if that’s what you prefer. Weekdays street parking 4 hours free is another reason I like it here.

An off leash dog beach, not really very clean water for swimming. Mixture of stagnant water and boat pollution from the marina. Also usually packed with kite surfers learning and advanced as well. Quite often the location for different breed dog meet ups each month too!

I had just as much fun as my munchkins did. The beach was beautiful & pretty clean of rubbish (I only had to pick up 4 pieces). It was surprisingly easy to get a parking spot right where I wanted. BUT THE $5.40 AN HOUR FOR PARKING IS OUTRAGEOUS !!! Thank goodness the water was great & the smiles & sqeueals of happy laughter from my 3 youngest munchkins kind of took a 'lil of the sting out of it.

The soft sands, calm waters, and beautiful sunset views make it a great destination for a leisurely day at the beach.

My wife and I sat and had a sandwich then went for a stroll on the beach. Seat and table was reasonably clean and there were bins for our rubbish. The sand is shelly so footwear maybe required. It was good to get out of the house and gaze at the water. Council needs to manage the toilets better as they are disgusting with no toilet paper. If you just want a walk, fresh air and don't need a toilet I would recommend.

I go here to swim early in the mornings, the water is usually very clear and calm and the waves aren’t usually choppy. The sand has shells near the ocean but other then that it is entirely clear.

There are lots of shells for barefoot walking on the sand but I don't mind it. It's clean and peaceful.

(Translated by Google) It is a good place to spend with the family, the beach is very beautiful, it is an incredible and unique place in the world, many young people are seen and the hungry is very youthful, the only thing you have to be careful with is the Jellyfish and some glasses on the trash beach. Pretty beach with lots of restaurants in the vicinity and a lovely bike and walking track if you want to avoid the sand. Very safe place for a swim, very calm bay waters.

Great place for walking or run. Busy in the morning (between 7 and 8), many people walking dogs and exercising. The beach can sometimes be smelly, due the proximity to the harbour, but mostly clean and pleasant

Clearly a better beach than the rest in Melbourne. The sand is white and the sunsets are beautiful. Not so much for swimming though but none of the city beaches in Melbourne are, so not a big issue.

  • 5/5 Pragyee D. 4 years ago on Google
Quieter than other beaches. There's a volleyball net on the beach so just get a ball and play it with friends or if you are alone join others for a friendly match. You can have a great run along the beach, there's also a cycling lane which starts from Port Melbourne beach and goes to St.kilda beach. All in all this is a great location to have your exercise in.

Has all the things you want in a beach: good amount of sand, and water. And is only 500m north of St Kilda beach, but much nicer. Important to note: you will need to bring your own bathers and towel.
