It was a very much interesting experience at the Butterfly House,Australia. When we were passing through the house, a large variety of butterflies accompanied us, with gentle touches and kisses. But I couldn't see anybody who tried even to touch them. Actually, we enjoyed the trip a lot

Excellent little exhibit at the zoo, amazing to see all the different variations and species fluttering around. Although they need to limit the number of people who can enter at a time especially during these precarious times, when we went there were about 100 odd people inside so not much room to move.

Made a bee line for it and it's well worth seeing. Butterflies are not shy and love to land on people as they wander through.

Went with the whole family. The problems were people took their masks off or down around their chins and definitely no social distancing. But the butterflies were absolutely stunning and worth seeing.

This place is magical, featuring more than 600 butterflies and has a steady temperature of around 27Β°C degrees for tropical butterflies to be able to flourish. Visit for an amazing butterfly experience.

Long time ago but wonderful for little princesses especially for Daddy to take on Father's Day πŸ’œ my girls won a Corinella prize from the Herald Sun when they were in primary school so we got in for free if you have asthma probably bring a puffer like I did its extremely humid. Otherwise absolutely beautiful they land on you all over you. Amazing and of course great for boys dad's grandparents but your son might say that's too girlie. lol

What's not to love about the zoo, for all ages? Been a long time since my last visit and I love what they've done to the place, on a par with the big overseas zoos, no question! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘And I might add, very clean around the grounds and eating venues showing how diligent and caring grounds staff are at keeping it looking its best. πŸ‘ Go the meerkats! 😍

We had not been to The Melbourne Zoo for many years. It was amazing the transformation from back then to now. The themes for different areas gives the visitor a feeling of being closer to the country that the animal was originally from. The highlight for us was as always the simplicity of the butterfly house and the whole spectacle of that many wings flying around. Definitely a great spot to spend a day with the kids!

As a photographer what a great place to visit and spend time in. All images are on the DSLR so when I've processed some I'll share. Tip for the day ... Arrive when the zoo gates open and head straight there to avoid any queues that happen after 9.30am.

  • 4/5 Jack B. 1 year ago on Google
The butterfly house was an amazing sight, and felt incredibly surreal, but somewhat suffered in terms of ambiance. That is, there were reminders not to touch the butterflies constantly being played over speakers, as well as on signs everywhere. Of course this is necessary to keep the butterflies safe, and makes sense, but does take away from the experience. Overall however, if you're at Melbourne Zoo, and don't have time to see everything, make sure to stop by before you go!
