I’m not A local to Melbourne and I have to admit that the place is a little daunting to navigate, I had to get a hire car and get out of town before I turned into a pumpkin from all the noise and people I’m not Use to, unfortunately I was needing facilities🥲 I ask a local Melburnian for help her name was Shabbona (sorry if I butchered that)she was truely lovely and directed us to this amazing gem, it’s tiny from the outside and the place is full of sweet beautiful people that were happy to help, the hot chocolate that we bought was Devine. I can’t thank you enough I was having a truly bad day and you turned it around.

The first coffee I really enjoyed since moving to the CBD! Cups are too small as I love a 16 oz cup. A proper flat white. Lovely coffee ❤️

I'm a little over cafenatics and thought I'd give this place a try. 5 star for the cappuccino! Tasted great, I felt like I could conquer the day, no kidding! Very uplifting! Great coffee, amazing staff, service was quick and easy. Highly recommended.

Most certainly my favourite local eatery & cafe - the best city service, with delicious homemade food, coffee & friendly faces. I often shy away from reviews as what's good is easily found...but I'd highly recommend guests to this lovely city of Melbourne to indulge at Sam Spade. Go find them! :)

Soff and his team are a bunch of amazing people. I not only buy coffee but also buy their beans. They remember you bu your name. For me going back to the shop is a must every few weeks just to say hello. I used to work close to the coffee shop and I am glad I had their coffee.

Really a hidden gem, one of the best coffees I’ve had so far. It’s less roasty and chocolatey than many Aussie blends and a bit more fruit which I really appreciate. In Singapore we say, “siap siap but not too siap”. Milk is done well so it has body and sweetness.

This could be the best coffee place in Melbourne. Not only is the coffee good but the owner knew my name greeted me everything and knew my coffee every morning without having to order. I was only there for a week. And it’s also open early in the morning when you need coffee the most. Extremely recommended

Coffee tasted like coffee, not a warm cup of milk. No extra for paying with your card, that does our head in. When back in this part of the city, we will return.

I'd give 6 stars if I could for this gem! Amazing coffee and food, and friendly service. The staff really make an effort (thanks Sof), quickly memorising and addressing you by name...will definitely be my pit-stop every time I'm in town. Thank you! 😊

Small takeaway shop, with a few tables out the front and courtyard. Takeaway breakfast options available. Coffee is good and staff are friendly.

Great family business. Owner takes a lot of pride in the coffee and food they are serving. We won’t walk passed without getting a coffee or a borek.

One of the best cafes ever in Melbourne. The bana bread is very delicious and I can't even stop if I start speaking about their coffees. They are the best; both in customer service, and the quality of food.
