Catch
35
is
fine.
It
features
a
focused,
well-priced
seafood
menu
in
a
posh,
polished
space
a
stones
throw
away
from
Chicago’s
iconic
River
Walk.
Our
visit
featured
a
choppy
server
handoff
that
dampened
our
experience.
Our
original
server
was
an
effective
guide
who
navigated
us
through
the
menu
and
offered
key
recommendations
(all
of
which
turned
out
to
be
spot-on).
But
the
service
quickly
soured
with
a
replacement
server
who
lacked
such
direction
and
an
overattentive
bus
staff
that
created
a
rushed
atmosphere,
despite
the
venue
being
mostly
empty.
The
food
was
divisive,
with
some
dishes
being
aggressively
average
(the
Crab-Stuffed
Shrimp,
the
Scallops,
the
Atlantic
Salmon)
and
others
that
I’m
still
salivating
over
(the
Chilean
Sea
Bass,
seared
Tuna
Sashimi,
and
Risotto.)
In
general,
Catch
35’s
best
dishes
featured
an
Asian
spin
on
fish.
Catch
35
is
a
place
you
stumble
upon
after
a
long
day
of
walking
or
a
quick
bite
before
a
show—
it’s
clearly
an
established,
well-oiled
machine
that
will
satisfy
most
folks.
But
it’s
not
a
must-visit
spot
in
a
town
known
for
its
food.
