I’m disappointed with the services, cleanness, and unfriendly attitude of staff. Cannot recommend this place. 1. Membership price went up at the beginning of the year while perks buying power decreased significantly. To bring a 5 year old child as a guest now costs 250 perks points (equivalent of $25). Logically it has to be only 100 points (if you pay in cash it’s only $10). A week ago it was 200 points ($20). Logic however doesn’t apply to MVP imo. In addition, your perks points cannot any longer be used for merchandise purchase. It was OK even last year. 2. Condition of shower cabins around 5pm is simply disgusting. 3. Staff rotates too quickly, not enough people for cleaning. 4. Rude unfriendly staff in the pool area. Don’t expect them to help you if something happens. They can easily spray disinfectant in your face without apologizing. If you complain, don’t expect management to be on your side. 5. Towels are not allowed to be taken to outside pools, even though outside pools are part of the same membership. It’s inconvenient if you are using both areas, inside and outside, during the same visit. 6. Hours of operation are inconvenient. On weekend, they close early. 7. Rules requiring to take shower before entering sauna or hot tub/pools are not enforced. I wish those areas could be kept cleaner.

MVP is a fantastic health club. It has lots of classes, great instructors, and good facilities with multiple locations. Personal trainers are really good. If you like to swim, both the indoor and outdoor pools are great. You can get a lane for lap swim most times. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Members are friendly. I have been a member for over 25 yrs. If you want a good investment in your health and fitness, consider this health club.

Pricey, but honestly, the amenities make it worth it... if you use them and can go there enough. They have many pools, a big water slide, hot tub, and saunas - all very enjoyable. Staff are good, honest, quality people. I enjoy taking to them and learning from them. The group classes are free with membership and are a great way to fit guided exercise into your schedule. Lastly... if you can afford a personal trainer... they are great and worth it. Becky is amazing, but she is almost always fully loaded. I have nothing bad to say about the trainers and the staff. You will love it here!

I have been a member since 2007. The club has gone down hill drastically. Sad to see the club digress so much. It used to be an awesome facility. Showers are moldy, equipment is always down, and facility hours have been cut. Employees have an “I don’t care” attitude. It took the assistant manager, Kevin Murphy, 19 days to respond to an email. I recently switched my family to YMCA for 1/3 the price and have been very happy with the service and new facility.

The staff is very welcoming and accommodating for all walks of life that want to get fit or have fun in the facility. I especially enjoy the free classes offered with your membership. You can workout with instructors coaching you, get in some yoga, dance away with Zumba, or get some circuit training in all as a part of your membership. The Basketball courts are a great amenity and is an ideal alternative for getting some cardio in. The indoor and outdoor pools have everything under the sun that you could ask for with your swimming needs. The lockerooms are clean, quiet, and respectful. If you are a tennis or pickleball nut, their indoor courts are exactly what you are looking for. I would highly recommend this gym/sportsplex to anyone that is looking to take their fitness and fun to the next level.

Buyer beware, this place quietly revokes perks and downgrades their best and longest customers. The only treadmill at this gym is the constant price increases. No loyalty here. If you have to ask how much it costs, they don't want your stench of poverty in their clubhouse.

Great gym but the hours are sad. Closing at 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday is a way too early. Why not have better hours? You leave all the lights on late into the night anyway

I come here every other day or more. Best facility in Grand Rapids. Worth the travel. A location downtown and off east Paris in GR. They offer military discounts also so I take advantage of that. Thanks MVP!

I'm handicapped love the warm pool. Love how clean it is, everyone is helpful. Can't wait to use the outdoor pools 😁 Needs new "lift" difficult to use. And the handicap showers need to be updated.

Yes, I would recommend if it falls into your budget. Why I use this gym: 1. Clean 2. Diverse equipment and machines 3. Locker room has a whirlpool, Sauna, and steam room 4. Towel service 5. Staff Why three stars? Monthly price and enrollment fee. I've lived all over so I join a gym with every move. Even gyms of comparable or better quality were significantly less in cost. Unfortunately, there is not much in this region that offers the five items listed above.

We usually just get the pool membership for the summer. The club allows you to put the rest of the membership on hold for only $8 a month per person instead of having to cancel and re-up the following year and pay the initial membership fee.

MVP is a fantastic health club. Exercising is fun. Whirlpool, steam room and etc are great in the locker room. Culturally diverse.

I'm 3 months in on my membership and really impressed. It's a great way to start my workday when I can. I never thought I'd be spinning but I tried something new. Thank you to the hard working and attentive employees!

No doubt they have beautiful facilities. Unfortunately, condescending, discriminatory attitude and policies towards anyone they deem “riff raff” in the words of their own staff member who led my tour. I toured the facilities with a staff member about two weeks ago because a friend recommended this gym and had quite the experience. Pros: - high tech facilities Cons: - very little childcare past noon any day of the week (very discriminatory towards working parents) - attitude of some staff members quite condescending as evidenced by the employee referring to anyone who attends the YMCA as “riff raff” - Some Gym members share this disdain for anyone outside the upper class of society. The employee went on to explain that there were quite a few people switching to MVP from the YMCA so they could “get away from the riff raff” and cautioned me against getting a membership there. I have since gotten a membership at the Mary freebed YMCA, enjoy state of the art facilities, enjoy the option of childcare until 7:45pm Monday-Thursday and Saturday mornings, and have encountered a wide variety of people from all walks of life but no one I would consider “riff raff.” Would not recommend for anyone who values equality and does not want to support discriminatory practices or attitudes.

Nice experience with a trainer after not being in a gym for 15 years! Glad to be back in a gym.

This place lives up to its name. I'll probably be transferring here from the Y due to the quality of the locker rooms alone. I stopped in last Sunday using their experience pass and was very pleased. I look forward to the next time I stop in.

I love being able to take the kids swimming and to play tennis all year long. And the childcare is great, my kids love coming to play here while I workout and shower, which can be hard to find time for on my own. Also love the workout classes!

There are a variety of classes for various skill levels, beautiful indoor and outdoor pools (plus a therapy pool and hot tub), and friendly, knowledgeable instructors. A great place!

Lack of management oversight. Equipment in disrepair many times. Showers and sauna remain dirty despite other reviewers addressing such issues and contacting the Manager. Broken items are not being fixed for months despite alerting the manager Vanessa about it. Increasing rates with reduced service hours and lack of maintenance.

Great facilities! Plenty of equipment for any/every type of workout. There are also endless fitness classes taught by really kind/fun teachers! The pools and bball courts are nice (only downside is it isnt super easy to figure out when they are open to the public, or if they are reserved for classes). The hot tub and saunas in the locker are game changers (especially in the winter to help warm up the muscles/bones) and there are always ample towels and available showers! The entire facility is super clean from top to bottom. My favorite feature is the tennis/pickleball courts/classes- great surface on the courts and plenty of availability if you want to reserve a court! MVP has the nicest facilities in West Michigan!
